Nothing against the women, but why so much hype EA Sports about a half done mode that quite frankly should have been add on content to FIFA 15 like the men were in FIFA 14. If EA Sports really wanted to show respect to the women's game, they should have added every Women's World Cup team and had a true world cup tournament mode instead of this exhibition mode that many gamers literary may play once if at all. Can you even use the women's teams h2h against each other online?Comment

So is it ok to ask why EA did not put a lesbian athlete on the cover instead of the one who is universally considered to the be the "hot" one? Not that Morgan isn't a fine representative and an excellent athlete, but we did not get Solo who's been arrested or Wambach or Rapinoe.Comment

I think you're way overcomplicating it. Alex Morgan was far and away the best business decision. She's the most popular and recognizable female soccer player right now. She's young, relatable, and a role model for a lot of young girls, who are the target market for the addition of women's teams to the game. Solo has a lot of legal issues, Wambach is 35 and may not even play in the Olympics, Rapinoe is 30 and has never been the "face" of the team and isn't nearly as recognizable. Carli Lloyd was the best choice, but she doesn't have the recognition that Morgan does if you're looking beyond this one World Cup, and in reality, her one amazing game in the final. So is it ok to ask why EA did not put a lesbian athlete on the cover instead of the one who is universally considered to the be the "hot" one? Believe it or not, none of us are the target for this, and that's why so many of us have a hard time understanding it. EA wants to open themselves to a currently untapped market, and I think they're doing it brilliantly. Could they have added a more robust mode? Sure, but what 12 year old girl is going to think that? They're going to be thrilled that these teams were included in the first place.Last edited by Cabke; 07-20-2015, 07:04 PM.Kansas City Royals | FC Barcelona | New Orleans Pelicans

Yeah, this isn't an issue any more complicated than Alex Morgan being the most prominent /recognizable brand in women's football right now.Comment

Cabke hit the nail on the head. This was a business decision. Wambach is 35 and could end up retiring. As a casual women's soccer follower, if you paid 100 million dollars to pick Rapinoe or Lloyd out of a lineup I couldn't do it. Also not many people talked about Lloyd prior to the WWC. It was Wambach, Solo, and Morgan that were the names being talked about. Solo wouldn't happen because of legal actions. But Alex Morgan I know who she is and could pick her out of a lineup.Comment

I'll disagree with Rapinoe not being nearly as recognizable, but it's a moot point because EA wasn't going to touch her with a 10 foot poll. Same with Wambach. For reasons we can't really discuss, lol. Morgan is the safe pick to represent women's soccer in America, even if those of us who actually follow the sport know that she was far from the most important player on that team.Comment
