    How many animations for ' Aggressive Catch '?

    I have watched as many videos as I could find and just about every aggressive catch has the same animation. Has anyone seen any layouts or anything else besides the jump and turn and fall animation? Some almost look different with a ball bobble but in general they seemingly look very similar.

    If anyone knows any videos that show off all ( or different ) of the animations for the aggressive catch could you link them please.

    They are going to be able to get the down by contact issue fixed before shipping right? The one where you are down without being touched. I wonder how that even happened lol. Did they use code from NCAA and forgot to remove / add that bit of needing to be touched? So weird.


    On another topic I really wish the AI was smart enough to do it on their own so I wouldnt have to see the big graphic saying " AGGRESSIVE CATCH ". Can we turn it off I wonder ( the text graphic and/or the entire system )?

    We know the prompts about the type of catch are automatically hidden on higher difficulty, and I think we've been told there is an option to turn them off on lower levels.

      Good to know! I was concerned about seeing it non stop. Do we know if the AI will do it on their own or must the user always trigger it?

      Still wondering about the animations. I have only seen the one still. Surely they will have a couple one handed grab attempts ( among others ) like the ones from OBJ last season. That was the reason they put this whole thing in the game in the first place.. Right? Though Madden has been known to not fully follow through on features in the past. Maybe I am just getting my hopes up.

        This is what I want to know. Do you always have to take control of the receiver or will the AI know what catch to go for if you don't take control of your receiver.

        I don't know man from the footage I've seen, I've seen a ton of different catch animations. Haven't seen any repeats so far from all the footage. They've all looked great to me.

          That graphic that says "Aggressive Catch" isn't telling the User to use the aggressive catch, it's telling the user that the aggressive catch was already triggered. Also:

          WIDE RECEIVER AI TRAITS

          Each WR has a new series of traits that determine which types of catches they look for when under AI control. This includes the RAC, Aggressive, and Possession traits. Throwing the right route to the right receiver and using catch mechanics linked to traits is a critical strategic component in Madden NFL 16.
          This was in the blog, and we heard it in interviews and seen it in vids. One thing that we saw in some of the videos was the User trying to use aggressive catch on throws that should have been possession catches and dropping the ball and/or not getting his feet down on the catch.

          The aggressive catch being overpowered on default is still a concern of course,(hopefully not on All-Pro or All-Madden) but I actually think that the A.I. will make better catch type choices than many Users. Using a possession catch for many Users is like taking a walk in a baseball game or shooting a pull-up foul line jumper in a basketball game. "Too Boring"

            I forget what interview but it will automatically trigger a certain catch if you don't switch to the receiver. I will try to find the link and post it.

              Rex says that their new features are normally multiple years if work. So no, it wasn't put in the gams just for the OBJ catch.

                      It's possible. I mean, there's at least ONE ridiculous catch each season. Heck, Brandon Lloyd's catch against the Chiefs could have been used to market this. It was a true b.s. rocket catch.



                      If that link doesn't work just google Brandon Lloyd, Chiefs and catch.

                      Point is, there was always going to he at least one ridiculous catch. They could have been working on this since before the OBJ catch and just marketed the coolest catch of the year.

                            You don't have to believe it, but it is true. Getting 2 players to go from route running to play ball and then synchronize them both (seamlessly) into a 2 player catch interaction required a long term (2 cycle) investment and we had some of our top engineers on it.

                            In addition to all the new 'single man' aggressive catches, we have added 400+ NEW multiplayer catch interactions in M16, these trigger most frequently when using the aggressive catch mechanic.

                            Also want to add that AI receivers choose catch type based on traits. Users tend to choose catch types based on situational awareness. Either approach can be used successfully but there are definitely situations where user influence can make a huge difference and can work for or against you. There is a lot of risk/reward and depth in this system.

                              If I'm in a no-switch online CFM, will I still be able to press the different catch buttons and have to cpu react, or do I have to physically switch to that player?

                              I understand thr CPU will choose for me if I press nothing, but can I still choose "play WR", "play ball", "aggressive", "RAC", and "possession" without hitting "circle" or "B" switching to the defender or pass catcher?
