If I say "Donald Trump," most people wouldn't associate him with wrestling at all. If I say "Hulk Hogan," wrestling is absolutely the first thing that comes to almost everyone's mind because Hogan is essentially the face of the wrestling industry in popular culture.

Like I said different rules for different people. I agree with you as that's true but it doesn't mean Trump should go unpunished either.

Having black "friends" doesnt mean you cant be racist. There are plenty of racists who can associate with minorities from time to time.

So why are so many of Hogans black friends like Foreman, Rodman,
Shaq, Virgil etc coming out defending him saying he isn't racist?

Not one person is coming out saying they've heard racist stuff out of
Hogan before. Just because he said it at the time doesn't mean he actually
truly believes it.

I come from a multi-cultural city my main friend circle is comprised
of people from all different cultures.

They say racist stuff to each other all the time either to their faces
or in private but none of them are truly racist.

Some people think joking about racism or saying it will help.
They like to get a rise out of people or whatever...

Obviously Hogan said it in a malicious way to some broad but
it doesn't mean he actually truly believes it and some of his black
friends who know him better then any of us are coming out saying
he isn't racist at all.

They aren't the same, but as many others have said, you can't be uttering anything racist...period. If I said what he said, I would be fired from my jonb and rightfully so. It has no place in there. I never saw WWE compare Hogan with Benoit. People are saying that because the records are being deleted. It's also not saying Hulk and Benoit's actions are similar.

I was a huge Hogan fan as a kid and I'm sad that he's been fired and his legacy tarnished. Having said that, he got exactly what he deserved. No place for racists today

To be honest it is sad seeing some of the comments. If he was truly sorry then he would have apologized 8 years ago on his own and not because he was exposed. Because hey if he on his own came out and said the same stuff 8 years ago on his own then he probably would have been rehired by now and weathered the storm. He sued Gawker for a 100 mill to guarantee they would not show the whole tape to be exposed for the racist he is. Oh what he said was not a mistake he repea3tedly said it and admitted to being a little racist. Hey look you cannot relate because something was not directed towards you and I get that. To me his apology is fake because it seems he is only apologizing because he got caught which is weak to me and makes him phony. Yeah it was a private conversation and he is entitled to feel as he pleases but there are consequences when you get exposed, and when will celebrities learn nothing is private anymore since the age of the internet. Racist language of any kind should not be tolerated period, but I do not think he deserves the Benoit treatment.
