NHL 16 Goalie Build Attribute Ratings - Screenshots

First picture shows that each bar can be divided into 10 smaller pieces.

DON'T GET TOO FOCUSED ON THE RATINGS!

What's important is HOW the builds play!

That's all fine and dandy, but just like you said, it all depends on how each build feels and plays.

Having watched that trailer, goalie animations look exactly the same as past iterations of EA NHL.

Do GOALIE players here see any significant difference?

What I find disturbing in these pictures is that all of the forwards are grinders.

I have been playing goalie since the mode was first introduced in NHL 08 and yes, I do see differences. Substantial from the save animations? No, not really. From the core of the tendys that includes positioning and movement? Absolutely. I notice that there's far more momentum carried through actions, which is going to shake up a lot of things. When you commit, you're going to commit hard, and truly understanding the position and it's fundamentals are hopefully going to be vital in being a good tendy now. I also noticed that after one save, there was a great desperation dive back with the stick to save a goal after a floating puck threatened to score. That, in place of the stupid "whirl around swipe" that happened at some of the worst times, is a good improvement to me. I will be interested to see tomorrow if that was the user choosing that save animation via the new controls, or the AI like past games.

They haven't chosen their class, so it's showing Grinder as a placeholder. If you look at the screencaps closely, you can see when you choose your class a little green check appears next to your name on the roster list, and a green highlight appears on the class name in the selection box. It makes me believe that when you get into a game, you have to choose your class prior to puck drop. Which is really convenient as far as swapping classes and trying out the different builds, as opposed to having to go to your player menu to change it like before.

Good observation. Seems to be what you're class will be if you don't select before the timer runs out.

Played all 3 builds. .900+%. Haven't noticed any real differences yet. Stand-up saved low shots, Butterfly snagged a few high ones, etc.

judging from the beta vids on youtube.
              goalies look exactly the same.
they better be a total rehaul for nhl 17.

Goalies are certainly NOT the same from last year if you watched the EASHL stream yesterday. I just wish they'd get rid of that damn Hungry Hungry Hippos animation already. Ugh.

a lot of animations have to be changed.
                  not just that one.

No one will be able to engage in a discussion with you or understand your points if you just stick to vague phrases. Yes, a lot of animations are from past gen that still don't look very good, but there are plenty of new ones that look fantastic. Fixing the locomotion and core movement like they did was definitely step one.

but by the looks of the vids, im not impressed.

I want to noticed a difference between goalies when I play the game.
