Fully agree with a lot that you said though really what huge thing was added to 2k15 that would warrent them not to have enough room to keep the superior lighting of 2k14? 2k15 had better gameplay but lets be honest nothing leaps and bounds past 2k14I'm 35 and I thought the lighting in 2k14 was far too extreme. See how we can play this? I thought the exaggerated reflections on the court made the court look like a tan colored hockey rink. I thought the skin textures made the players look like clay figures up close. Here's the thing though...these consoles don't have infinite power. For every enhancement and addition...like better skin textures and animations...something will have to get scaled back. You being as old as you are and as experienced with video games should have a strong grasp of that. So if sweat is cut back or SSR is not as prominent...hell, if the lighting system had to be scaled back it's not because of gross negligence or lazy programming. I'm sure if 2K artists could max out every detail without losing performance they would. Do I wish there was a more realistic, vibrant lighting solution in 2k16...yup. Do I wish arenas were more detailed...yup. Do I realize that both consoles are being pushed by 2k as far or farther than any other sports game out there...yup. So I enjoy the game for its visual strengths and hope as technology continues to advance one day we get what everyone on this forum is always clamoring for.Comment

Re: NBA 2K16 Screenshots - Steph Curry, James Harden & Anthony Davis
What are you speaking about. The way nba stadiums are lighted isn't some opinion based thing. It's some thing that stays relatively constant throughout the course of an 82 game season. It's not different than the logo in the center of the court.
If the seats are dark in the back of the Pelicans arena that should be reflected in the game. If Staples is a bright arena that should be reflected. The way players are lighted should reflect the brightness of the arena. It's not a matter of opinion, just compare a real nba game to nba 2k, and try to reflect that lighting in the game. Nba 2k14 came closest to thatLast edited by Bexthelegend; 08-06-2015, 06:43 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K16 Screenshots - Steph Curry, James Harden & Anthony Davis
People have been discussing Curry's hair for 30+ pages. It must be this whole "modern man" and "metrosexual" movement like Glee and Jersey Shore and the other stuff I don't get.
It's his hair. How often are you going to look at that in the game? It seems a little off yeah and if they were to scan his head again or edit it then great. If not whatever. As a basketball fan I'm more concerned about his jump shot. **** his hair. Shave him for all I care, can he ball?
I'm going to be looking at him pretty much every moment of the game, because I'm playing as GSW. As a GSW fan I would think you'd actually want him to resemble himself as much as possible in the first game he's the cover athlete for.
2K just needs to take off some length from the front and top and it would be a pretty close match to his Finals appearance.Comment

Umm, you realize this thread is about 3 pics that were released, right? So of course there's gonna be tons of discussion about the graphics. And yes message boards are for discussing. It doesn't mean you discuss a guys hair for 30 pages when you could've finished the discussion in 10. I mean come on. How about we discuss the basketball aspect of the basketball game? We can discuss the hair more after they release the "My Lovely Unicorn Spa and Beauty Salon" DLC.
You said you wanna "discuss the the basketball aspect of it"? What does that even mean? From these 3 pics, we're supposed to discuss what exactly? Besides graphics, that is.
You tell us.Comment

WISports, did you not get understand what he was trying to tell us?
In other words, state your opinion/observation once, STFU, and keep it moving! lolComment

I mean, if it was important to me that's what I would do instead of all the regurgitation...but I'm assuming we'll be dealing with this after every pic drops, lol

Yeah, so we should state our opinion once, and that's it. Imagine how short all these threads would be if that's how it worked.

For as long as this 'lighting' talk has been going on that some have been inconvenienced with reading, the moderators have yet to say that any of it is out of line or off topic. So until then I don't think that it is inappropriate of people to talk about this game's lighting within screenshot threads. You could of course begin your own NBA2K gaming forum, and then you would be able to outlaw any talk that you deem annoying, i.e., ideas that are far different than yours ...Comment

I mean, we're discussing THREE SCREENSHOTS. What in the world do some people expect us to talk about??? These aren't videos. It isn't notes about the gameplay. It's literally 3 pics.Comment

Actually a mod suggested changing the pace of the conversation....being that opinions on the lighting had been stated.....over...and over again. No one said anyone violated TOS though...it just went to that overboard level...as it often does around this time...and yeah that can get annoying.
Outside of the guys who have already pretty much concluded they aren't going to like any pic that drops from 2k.....I know most here are fans of he game just giving feedback though.....that's fine. I was actually serious tbh....Why not just start a thread on it? I think everyone can at least agree it has room for improvement..

Re: NBA 2K16 Screenshots - Steph Curry, James Harden & Anthony Davis
The lighting in 2k14 was great and vibrant, but not that realistic. No court has that much shine sitting live at a real basketball game, and players don't look like they have shiny wax smeared on them when they sweat.
