    Here is the final system I am using in dynasty. I considered editing ratings but offensive linemen never get injured (even with injury rating 0). So here goes.

    From this article (http://www.thefalcoholic.com/2010/7/...-groups-suffer) it appears running backs are by far the most injury prone position. Other positions are pretty similar and QBs don't get injured as often as in the game. So my system is

    Before the game (I don't do this for bowl games), for each starter:

    1) Generate random number between 1-100 (http://www.random.org/)

    2a) For RB or dual-thread QB if <= 10 -> injury (see below for durations)

    2b) For other starters if <= 5 -> injury

    Crunching the math this means on average about 1.15 players per game get "injured". So you will see about 2-4 players on average injured at any given time.

    3) If the player is injured (random number <= 10 for RB or <= 5 for others)

    3b) Generate second random number between 1-100

    1-40 => 1 week
    41-55 => 2 weeks
    56-70 => 3 weeks
    71-75 => 4 weeks
    76-80 => 5 weeks
    81-85 => 6 weeks
    86-100 => season-ending

    3c) Optionally: For season-ending guys, flip a coin so 1/2 the time they can play in the bowl game.

    This way you will get a good distribution of short term injuries with the occasional season ender. You can expect 1-2 season ending injuries per season.

    This process only takes a minute after you get the hang of it and adds great immersion.

    I just started getting back into NCAA 14 (Such a great game). The only thing that got under my skin was the complete lack of injuries.

    This is a great system!!!

    I use random number methods for free agency in Madden and MLB The Show so why not use it for injuries on NCAA 14!

      Not really a "dynasty" house rule, but something I do to make gameplay more fun and challenging:

      When I play vs the CPU, I edit their playbook and remove plays that the CPU either sucks at running, or calls too frequently.

      For example, on 3rd & long, it's generally a safe bet that the CPU is going to call either "HB Slip Screen" or "Four Verticals". In fact, in one game against Minnesota I kept track - the CPU ran 9 HB Slip Screens on 10 third downs... So I remove these types of plays from their playbook.

      I also add in more plays to give the CPU playcalling some more variety.

        The 3rd down screen thing is governed by the OC's aggressiveness slider. Too much 1 way and they'll throw screens til the cows come home. Other teams almost never call screens because of their aggressiveness slider.

          What do you mean by "using [your] coordinators' playbooks"? Do you just change your playbook to the school the coordinator just came from? Is there a "coordinators' playbooks" option I've somehow overlooked?

            I like a lot of ideas in this thread...the injuries idea is good but man just seems like a lot of work. I think for recruiting I'm going to do the no scouting (brutal haha), Seniors +2, 2 athletes max, and recruit 2 players max that didn't have me originally in their top 10.

            I think this will make being a mid-tier / top team more fun (play with Texas A&M a lot) and will make a smaller school very difficult to build up (WMU this year).

              every coordinator is just a coach at that has that position and every coach has a offensive and defensive playbook assigned to them, like when you create a coach and choose.. what he's saying is if he is LSU and hires Nick Saban as an OC who by default has Alabama as his offensive playbook then he will use the Alabama playbook because that is who the school hired

                The way I get injuries is simple. Skill guys get 70 inj rating, o-line get 59s, all defense gets 60s. I get plenty of injuries but not to many. It makes you sub to keep guys fresh bc if a guy gets tired he's more likely to get injured.

                  And teams use the head coaches playbook not either of the coordinators.

                    Which is why that guy changes his own (since he's the HC) PB to match his OC's PB.

                    He knows that teams use theHC's PB.

                      Dynasty House Rule Ideas

                      Coach Mode is typically the only "house rule" I use. But, I LOVE the reasoning behind PocketScout's "No Scouting" house rule. I just picked up another PS3 and NCAA 14 on yesterday after 5 months of Madden 15 on ps4 and I'm READY to start my dynasty today. The "no scouting" house rule is definitely coming with me.

                        I like. I'll be taking that into my new dynasty today

                          Any suggestion on how i can have players be out from injuries... every other team has a list of key injuries while on my team somebody goes out in a game and comes back the next lol.

                            I edit (lower) the INJ rating on all of my incoming recruits. I lower them by this much:

                            Quarterbacks (-10)
                            HBs : (-15)
                            WRs: (-10)
                            OL: (-70)
                            TE/FB: (-20)
                            Defense: (-40)

                            * I run a spread option attack so anything more than -10 on my QBs causes way too many injuries since my QBs are constantly taking hits.

                            * I used to do -15 for my WRs, but after having 4 WRs injured @ 1 time I bumped them back up to -10. WRs are still my most often injured position.

                            * I should probably lower my TE as it's very rare for me to see a TE injury.

                            * Even @ -70 on my OL, I only see about 5 OL injuries per season, but it's still much better than 0 without edits.

                            * I see injuries at all positions on defense, but I see definite differences between them in this order (from most injured to least):
                            1. CBs
                            2. DE
                            3. Safeties
                            4. LBs
                            5. DTs

                            I used to have different edits by defensive position, but I'm satisfied with the simpler -40 across the board.

                              Im guessing that it gave you even output of injuries .
