    Re: offline gameplay??

If you want to play a season and manage your favorite team, offline is the only way...bad ai or not.

The name of the game is NHL not EASHL.

If you can't see the potential fun in offline play, that's fine. No one wants to convince you. That doesn't change that others still prefer to play an offline game where they can control everything, don't have to wait on others, and can do what they want, when they want.

never cared for the online thing....most of the people are tools and I just don't care for the stupid names of players. Also, I want to play N.H.L. and not some weird *** baloney league with a million teams that all have stupid names and stupid uni's.

That said, the online stuff is uber popular....so to each they own!

The argument is pointless and at this point the guys just trying to stir up crap. Everyone is entitled to enjoy whatever aspect of the game that they want but suggest your style is best so nothing else matters is idiotic and further more to enter a thread titled offline gameplay and post over and over about how you think online gaming is better is just flat out trolling. If he was serious about it at all he would just post in an online thread or create his own.

            Re: offline gameplay??

I think my biggest frustration is that for the second season in a row we've got little to nothing released about any AI improvements, for a game that's a week away.

I can only assume that once again this means that just like with NHL15 there's little to nothing worth noticing about the offline gameplay, because EA is almost entirely focused on pumping up HUT and EASHL.

There's hardly been any mention of improvements to Be a GM, aside from "Oh, you can edit rosters! But...not during the season, and you sure as hell can't share them". There's been little talk of what they've done to improve the way the AI handles the pucks, the way the sliders work, the way trades are made, or your ability to create plays and really manage your team and prospects.

NHL16 is looking to be just as frustrating as NHL15 was. I was trying to hold out hope and be positive, but this is getting ridiculous every single year. At this point, I'd rather they just cut Be a GM entirely, so I don't have to spend time wondering.

I usually have a couple buddies over and we have some beers and play Be A Gm together, the AI is terrible but it's still much more enjoyable to play against(with my friends on the same team) than it is against other humans. I hate online, and have barely touched it since it was introduced. my friends and I usually get through two seasons and we'd probably play even more if they could fix the wonky AI

                  A. For someone who cannot keep a consistent schedule to be on a legit EASHL team, most online games are just filled with ****-mouthed asshats.

                  B. There is literally an entire sub-forum on this board dedicated to Sliders tweaking, which in turn is used by offline players to fix that "crappy AI" problem.

                  C. Dude had a point, and it has nothing to do with MY connection. EA Servers are historically ****.

                  D. You're a Bruins fan, therefor, everything you say is jibberish.

                  E. With your mouth-breathing arguing it seems you are the exact type of person us offline folks play offline to avoid.

I buy EA Sports's games every year, and have never once played online. This year, I'm not sure if I will buy NHL or Madden, due to the "online only" attention they are getting.

                    It actually makes me sad...

Been buying and looking forward to every new release of NHL for lots of years. But gotta say this year is the very least i've looked forward to it. The near total lack of off-line play info (and demo) really sucks. And as maybe many of us have learned, when they don't really show something....theres a reason. I just miss really looking forward to this game.

                        Re: offline gameplay??

I am sure EA will flood the internet with some news soon(one can pray)...but its concerning to me and I know others offline players that the FULL game is what 3 weeks from hitting EA Access and we have the beta gameplay to see but only 1 minute of overhead gameplay? And I don't mean screen shots of mascots that no one cares about which I saw an article with achievements that showed every mascot in the game already.

3 weeks till release and this is it? Come on. I know they're probably fine tuning things now but this game is pretty much finished with a day 1 patch you can book on.

Its very tough to not be cautious like others are saying above with the complete lack of information for a game so close to being released and the complete disaster of a game they put out last year.

No kidding. I used to religiously scour the internet looking for any small piece of info I could find. I would re-watch EA's videos with Matt talking about AI and gameplay changes over and over.

Now I just frustratedly wait to get disappointing news on release day.

If I've learned anything from EA, it's that no news is bad news.

Yep hank, it was fun to read and watch videos over and over. And my son and i used to play the hell outta the demo in anticipation of the full game. Sad to me anyway, to see a game that was pretty highly thought of, kinda fall like this. I'm just hoping that the gameplay is upgraded enough vs the ai to hold my interest for at least a few months. And fun enough to keep my son and i playing on-line.

The lack of stat tracking has been my number one complaint about the NHL series for years. I would love to be able to look back at some players years into my BeAGM and see what teams they have played for, what their year to year stats were, and what awards they have won. But, there has been no substantial improvement in this for many years.

So like what NHL 2k7 used to do, minus the awards?

I used to buy the NHL series for the franchise mode mostly because I couldn't care less about EASHL after a few years of testing the waters in it. I have a busy schedule so offline really fits to those times where I just need to unwind after work/classes. Sure the player morale is a neat feature but wasn't that introduced back in NHL 2004, IIRC? It's a shame to see what used to be my favorite video game series now something that I plan on skipping due to poor quality of the finished product. I had expected there to be more features added over the years, not less. NHL 15 on the PS4 I could forgive because it's a bit of a trial to see what the system can do, but as bare bones as NHL 16 is looking to be for offline it's going to be a non-purchase unless they are planning some major overhaul of the offline experience, which is looking very unlikely with each passing year.
