I believe that the current "Point of Emphasis" system can be mimicked and used for the GM's and their trade logic.
Several philosophies, mentalities and focus'can be can be combined to create realistic scenarios.

Example:

Team Philosophy: Rebuilding
Mentality: Cut costs
Focus: Acquire pics


Philosophies: Rebuild, Make playoffs, Build contender, Win now
Mentalities: Cut costs, Aggressive trades, Buy talent,Tread water
Focus: Acquire picks, Focus on FA's, Develop rookies,Increase depth, Upgrade line-up


There could be many intricacies coded into these potential Points of Emphasis like looking for expiring contracts
when "cutting cost" in an effort to eventually "buy talent" as they "Focus on FA".These points could change at predetermined
periods in a season based on performance, but also in conjunction with blockbuster trades, injuries or FA signings.

"To present ‘Team State’ for every team to the user. We want you to better understand the moves that teams are making. Without context, it can be difficult to follow along with why teams make the decisions they do. To solve that, we now have a new screen in the game called ‘Team Intel’:
This screen allows you to trigger through each team and learn about what they are up to. You can quickly view if a team thinks it is Rebuilding, Selling, Contending, or Buying." - Simballer


This is why through all my nitpicking and complaints, im under no impression that these devs dont care or are lazy. They continuously listen to feedback, ideas and generally keep a pulse on the varying sectors of their fan base.

Great work, and thanks for taking the time to type up something detailed for the OS and like minded communities to sink their teeth into.

I'm sure it was answered already but can you adjust the salary cap at the start of every year in MyLeague and MyGM?

I don't think so but you can adjust how much it rises from year-to-year.

This is absolutely amazing! Absolutely amazing! They did all of this in one development cycle. Wow! Kudos to the team and I can't wait for September 25th to arrive. In fact, I'm going to start searching for the game early tonight.

And I cannot wait to move the Indiana Pacers to Louisville.

A lot of these numerous questions people are asking...probably are not going to be answered in this thread. I know Czar dropped in with a comment or two but he even said it is not his area really and was just making a statement based on his experiences in game.

There may be a question/answer interview with the devs. like after pro-am...but some guys asking the same questions in post after post in this thread 3-4 times is getting a bit old.

They do have a Salary Cap slider but I don't know if you can change it every year and I think I read it right when it was said that we control how much it increases.

Online Leagues look to be at the point as ist should have been at 2k14. That's ok-ish. With a little work multiple seasons are possible for users. However at least it should be a playable seasons mode. Not 100% what I like, but it is a start.

Some points and questions which need an answer though.
- Are you able to edit rotations, playbooks, tendencies and roster based decisions in your league on the fly?
- Is there a proper training mode in the game? I liked the old ones where you could select from the whole playbook and include them afterwards in your teams one, i guess it was 2k12 or 13.
- little question, but will there be a live ticker as in 2k14, where you can watch the progress of a game on screen while played in your online league.
- is it possible to use customized teams in my league online? with jerseys?
- is it possible to use euroleague teams in online leagues, lets say 24 european team mode?

beside from these aspects the game looks amazing. it has been a long time since i have been amazed for a game like that. now all comes down to gameplay and online input lag and general lag reduction. if the servers and gameplay experience hold up this may be the best game for next gen sports so far.

Agreed. There is no reason to play MyLeague Online for more than one season if there is no offseason. Free Agency is such a huge part of the NBA so for that not to be in this mode is ridiculous.

Cmon, let's be happy with this. I mean this will most likely be added upon next year. We can come up with a free agent solution to this and create our own off season and trade accordingly. Sure it would be nice but let's be happy with all the work they did! To do all the stuff they did in a short 1 year cycle is incredible! We just need to be a little creative here. After last years online debacle I am ecstatic with options they are giving us, plus again we got some pretty creative guys and commishes here who will come up with some off season tool for us to work with...

Loving these details. Really liking Summer League within MyLeague and the 2K Hoops Summit that allows you to run with NEXT YEAR's draft class before the beginning of the season...very cool.

These guys also said you can upload advertisements to courts, in addition to uploading logos and editing virtually every court line and color. We can pretty much created 'patched' courts you might see on the PC version within the game this year. Nice.

Sounds like 2k11 leagues... which is better then all of the previous 2ks so hopefully they'll add offseason to 2k17

Man, this sounds awesome... The customization, the details, everything looks to be like the basketball game I've been waiting on since NBA 2K2.


Let's just hope that gameplay responsiveness and CPU AI increases and we could have the best sports game ever created.

WOW amazing job, jaw dropping read.

with all the new amazing customization for the arena i would just like to see one more thing, broadcast presentation customization added for next year. Id love to be able to change the design and logo for home local game broadcasts and nationally televised games...game of the week type of deal.
