I agree, and we still haven't seen a gameplay trailer yet, so hopefully things will only get better from here.Comment

First, no disrespect intended or offense either. You have some legitimate concerns but mixed in with those are unrealistic expectations.
Let's go into your complaint about the name chosen for this year's mode.
... Tell me taer; with all due respect; when a mode is given the identical name as a pre existing mode that is tangibly defined as a fully featured offline franchise mode, would it be such a leap to surmise or expect the equivalent, aside from the offline/online components?
I think we all can start with the following:
Going forward, they can work on their feature schedule, overcoming problems and then implementing and deploying those features in future years, only when they work.
If this is not enough, 2K has already set precedent with MyPlayer - online and offline being tied together with a common name but entirely different experiences between the two.
All I'm saying is that the naming of the mode was entirely misleading and unnecessary.
Again, naming convention aside, the majority of us that hooped regardless of the broken 2k15 OLs with work arounds now have more tools to work with than last year because of what you may call "complaining", and yet we call "constructive criticism." Hell....didn't Simballer himself ask for our feedback with regards to the very mode that he detailed in the blog? ... That shouldn't preclude us from providing feedback that offline heads have given and thus culminated in them getting the motherlode that OA heads erroneously anticipated due to the orwellian double speak of naming a mode "myleague online" when it has little resemblance to the more robust "myleague offline."
Reading this blog, I saw more plain-speaking and almost borderline frank discussion from Simmballer that I immediately thought of the suits chewing his butt out ... I'm surprised there hasn't been some walk-back put out on Twitter or Facebook by LD2K or Ronnie to cover their butt.
What should be the takeaway is: The goal of Simmballer's team is to bring the off-line experience to the online community. They are not there yet but they are providing you with the biggest roadmap they can possibly use to show you where they want to accomplish.
Once the game is released and you have had time to digest everything maybe you can start a thread like 23 linked earlier which the offliners consolidated their criticisms, suggestions and wishes. My expectations, based on the last few years of threads that all of this will be scattered everywhere and anywhere, even in threads dealing exclusively with other things.Comment

For sure! What would be cool is if you could share this stuff too! Maybe that's in maybe it's not but I know there's way more innovative and creative people than me out there that would get the uniforms, courts, etc looking perfect! I hope these can be shared somehow in 2k share?! :-)Basketball Playbooks

Lol 2k showing off the accurate Sonics court in that Pro Am video didn't help, I want to re-create the 1996 Sonics court though.Comment

Yes. It is an unreasonable leap to surmise or expect the equivalent.
I think we all can start with the following:
Simmballer practically lays it all out, saying they wanted to implement and release what worked within the architecture they have. It is much more realistic to expect a mode that works. In the past, 2K has received criticism, rightly, that their online mode failed to work. Re-establishing an online league mode within the game that works is the main focus. At this point in development, the most important thing is to establish credibility and that means deploying code and script that works.
Going forward, they can work on their feature schedule, overcoming problems and then implementing and deploying those features in future years, only when they work.
If this is not enough, 2K has already set precedent with MyPlayer - online and offline being tied together with a common name but entirely different experiences between the two.
We disagree.
You chose words that have charged emotional triggers associated with them. Orwellian and double-speak have a very negative connotation implying intentional lying.

I think the OL/OA community has been waiting 3 years to finally play an online franchise type mode. 2K used the word "stability" to describe their efforts last year and what they gave us was a mode where stats nor games registered. I can't believe they used that word again to be honest.
The 2K online league community has some of the most hardcore guys dating back to 2k8. It just sucks to see other games excel in the online league world when 2K used to be at the top.
Most likely this will frustration will wear off and diehard lgs will make it work, but I think we are tired of relying on spreadsheets to maintain a franchise in 2016.I rep USDA

Re: NBA 2K16 Developer Blog - MyLEAGUE, MyLEAGUE Online, MyGM & More
ROTFLOL! Thanks you for the laugh in such a depressing thread.
If what your wanting is still missing consider how upset the franchise guys were
a short few years ago. 2k doesn't care, it's all about the money etc etc.
Some things simply take more time. If your favorite mode is the one left out I
understand the frustration but just look at the pattern of others who felt the same.
Also just a side note. Anything you do offline that you want to do online has the
added complexity of keeping up to 30 machines in sync. Think about what that
means in terms of bugs, divergences, coding etc.
Also consider that next gen was a new game on new engine.(Copy paste not good idea)
So you can't just copy a feature and put it online. Again this ain't my mode but
I watched these guys work their asses off and the whole time they had me
and others pleading the case of the online league guys. They literally gave you
everything they had this year. As SImballer said they wanted it to actually work.
Speaking of work I have more to do myself. Carry on gents.
All that being said my impatient side can't wait for your blog!Basketball Playbooks

Just like there was an open wound in the NFL until Baltimore was made right, so will there be a wound in the NBA until the Sonics are restored. The only redeeming fact for the Sonic wound is that Seattle was able to keep their team's name, something not even Baltimore was able to do.Comment

I was really hyped about online leagues for 2k16 but I got to say this no offseason business is pretty damn disappointing. It's great that they have fantasy draft but I used to love planning for multiple seasons. If I didn't get a top draft pick , then I would plan for the future by picking good young team with potential as well as having cap space flexibility to pick up a superstar or two in free agency.
Like others have said, no offseason is going to be a disadvantage for the bad teams. It will also make life difficult for new players joining leagues after the draft. They have no offseason to look forward to improve their team.Comment
