The upgrade is complete, but you've probably noticed the forums are only showing posts up to about April 8. Posts made after that are still in the process of being moved over, and that should take another week or two. Feel free to start a new thread.
The site might feel a little slow while work continues. Engineers are staying on it through the night to get things moving faster again. Thanks for your patience.

For some reason, 2k videos and screenshots could look very cartoony at times. Sometimes it looks very photo realistic. I can't explain why that happens. Just go throough the 2k15 photo thread, some pics look like a cartoon and some look very impressive. All in all, i think the game will look just fine. As for the legs and ankles, it seems as if it depends on the angles. One angle it looks ok, the next, it looks bulky. I can't call it.

Im not big of a Graphic guy anyway.. and 2Ks Graphic is still amazing.. but i just dont like that its always getting worse instead of getting better..

The screenshots look really, really good. The player models will never be perfect and that is something people will need to realize. I think they've done a good job with Davis' body type this year. I also like that they finally, finally fixed/updated Deron Williams after he looked like trash the last two years.
Can't wait until they start actually dropping screenshots of other non cover athletes. I wonder if they've updated Tim Duncan or Kawhi Leonard?
Also I think a lot of what people have issue with, other than the lighting not improving, is the effect of the "uncanny valley." Especially since we've now had these level of graphics for going on three years and we don't notice any overt improvements.

them changing the lighting in 15 how it was in 14 ruined it. Also something happened with the skin tones too because that's what makes it look cartoonish now.

I dont know about you guys, but i definitely think Anthony Davis's arms look weird in this clip right here. Like his elbows are bent wrong or something...

I partly disagree. I dont think anybody should ask for perfection unless they go to a real game it wont be lol.
That said my disagreement about improving whats there can be had. NBA 2k started off with very muscular tank like body builder basketball players back on the dreamcast and over the years slimmed the players down.
The issue comes in only now where players have huge legs and overly huge shorts and it makes them look funny.
Dwight Howard is a mess right now is just one example. Body types differ with people period and that should be reflected. YAOs build was much different than Mutombo the same as Iverson being slim and skinny differs from Jason Kidd.
Some of those guys have thin legs...think Tyson Chandler. While still muscle man his legs are chicken like and thats not reflected here.
I'm not complaining about the scans or anything myself but old 2Ks you were able to choose skinny large or regular types for a reason.... im not sure if it was there in 2k15 or not, i dont remember that but it cant hurt to be able to edit body types if almost everything else is.
I know the shoulder measurements might be right by number but in game it translates not so well all the time.
It kind of bothers space on the court too which could stand to be a bit bigger its gotten much better as well but theae things all translate to better experiences for us..some not as obvious.
I'm not really into nitpicking stufd we havent even seen the game just this short clip stuff which who knows if its old or not.
Hopefully they continued to add to the foot planting as well
Re: NBA 2K16 Digital Short - Anthony Davis: The Rise
Anyone have a link to that AD instagram video that was mentioned here which shows him setting a pick and the footwork?
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.
When 2K came out last year, at launch, you could edit the thickness of the players arms and legs. I was stoked. Then they put out a patch a few days after release and took it out. SMH.
