Somthing needs to be done about 4 verts this year

As the topic says if something isnt done about 4 verts this game is going to be doomed in any online type mode and to some extent vs the cpu unless sliders are used. Out of the box this one play is absolutely gamebreaking in a way thats almost making it a game killer for me.

Because of the neutered pass rush and the new db and wr animations the only way ive found to consistently stop this play is to take a defensive lineman cover the middle of the field and play cover 2 man and it only works if you know 100% 4 verts is coming.

Man doesnt work. Zone doesnt work. On past maddens i prided myself on being a good user on defense for taking away deep balls and such but on this years madden that is pretty much gone. With the new DB and WR interactions even if you have great position with a corner they make this ridiculous jump ball animation between the wr and DB occur that gives the wr the advantage.

Playing one on one on the outside is so bad this year your asking to give up a deep ball eventually. Its very alarming to say the least. If anyone else with the game can chime in with their thoughts id appreciate it. But i feel like right now this is all your going to see online this year.

I don't have the game. But have you tried blitzing 7 leaving man coverage and the qb to make a tough lob throw.

Personally I think it's simple. They just need to tune coverage to be a little bit better

Id agree somewhat. Coverage definitely needs to be tuned a bit but theres just a problem wit the play overall. With the new pass mechanics you can potentially get a 1 on 1 matchup on every play and in this years game that is extremely dangerous. Corners are one thing but not every safety and linebacker can cover.

Last night i had a guy literally 4 verts me all the way down the field and there was nothing i could do to stop him. Now normally id be like whatever its online people always cheese online but the cpu does this to an extent sometimes too. As a person that loves defense its just annoying not being able to play good D at times. If D gets tuned just a bit i think the game will be amazing tho.

Yes but i feel like your hoping on drops and inaccurate passes moreso then like tipping the ball away and stuff like that that happens in the nfl. Feels like the receiver always gets hands on then ball your just hoping for a swat out, drop, or missed pass.

Was the person you were playing user catching?

I would not be surprised if user aggressive catch was OP.

Seemed like Rex made a successful aggressive catch in every preview stream they did.

I have only seen this some on one on one. But unless you have a top corner covering a top wr. They should make some catches, just like the real NFL. I have also seen same pass broken up, more than caught. If I have Julio Jones one on one with average corner, he is going to make some of those catches. Plus what play calls you doing, what level, what teans? Making generic statements does not help. Need more specifics. Sliders work. So that could always help.

the catches where its one on one coverage and the db has good positioning to break it up, then the receiver makes an animation where he get in front and just uses his whole body to block the db and catch on his back. These seems to work every time.

Did you try protecting "overtop" DB option or doubling most dangerous receiver?

I usually do a spread defense, man the best receiver, then but a zone on where i think they'll b going. How i do that?

I couldn't tell because you don't have to swap this year to make them do the catch you want. Abd I'd somewhat agree the aggressive catch is op but not in the way you guys are thinking. It's not much op on the outside if you've got corners with good cover ratings. It's op because vs LBs and Safeties. Lbs and safeties don't have good coverage ratings and aggressive catches vs them are I'd say almost automatic.

What the guy I played did to me was just kill me with seam aggressive catching if I played zone, TE aggressive catching if I played over the top or didn't user the middle and did that deep crossing route, And of course go over the top if I left the wrs on the outside one on one. Was infuriating.

I know how he did it but I don't want to say because I don't want more people abusing it but its going to come out eventually. I just think dbs need to coverage guys need to be able to play the ball better on deep balls and coverage in general needs to be better tuned and a pass rush ffs. That itself is a huge issue. People wouldn't always have time to get these routes off if a pashrush existed.

Play cover 2 man, shade the CBs over the top or inside if they are throwing the inside guy over & over.

Also make sure you have a DB on that inside player & not a LB. That works most of the time for me. Unless one of your CB/DBs are slow or lack m2m cover skills.

Most people's problem is they want to run zone all game. A simple vertical route that hits that seam in the zone will work every time if you aren't user covering it.

I mean this in the nicest way possible but i not a rookie when it comes to this madden. This is all stuff ive done and tried before i made this thread. The way you can throw people open this year with lead passing that deep crossing route from 4 verts will be open like 100% of the time unless you user it vs cover 2 man. If you user the crossing route the RB running a underneath out will be open. Cant defend both of those routes.

the best way to fix this is with stamina.

if guys knew they would loose megatron for 2 plays after every vertical they would see why he does not run that every play in real life

same for blitzing non stop and no huddle, stamina can fix all this if we had a system that works.....
