Ok I sincerely apologize. I don't post often I was just trying to engage with everyone. I'm not trying to troll, I'm seriously just trying to put something out there that I feel is totally valid.
Is it not?Comment

I didn't call you a troll, just letting you know it could be interpreted that way easily by any mod and they'd be right. Read the TOSComment

Dope, dope trailer.
Just hope they corrected the lighting issue in the Arenas so all of them aren't looking like Staples Center or MSG/Barclays Center either.
My only slight complaint about what I noticed in the trailer.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: NBA 2K16 Trailer - Winning
I'm not sure why but while watching the trailer I was getting that feeling just like I had while watching the first NBA 2K8 trailer. I was amazed because 2K8 was probably the first 2K to take the signature animations to the next level, and also was the first 2K to have players interact with refs, cameramen, jump on the table etc..
2K16 seems to make it happen all over again, I get the same feeling. It looks really good, and sweat is back to the 2K7 standards. Finally!

Bravo..Bravo..2k8 my first

Alright thank you, I hear you. Won't happen again.
Well from what I've read of your posts, wouldn't you agree that this graphical decline from something so promising is totally senseless and pretty unfair to the fans?Comment

Re: NBA 2K16 Trailer - Winning
I want a TNT presentation for the special games of the year, like the televised ones.
Other than that it should be a normal NBA LP presentation.
The bigger your team is and the better they perform, should factor into how many TNT games you have.
Also, listen to those sounds when they catch the ball, and when they go into the net.

Re: NBA 2K16 Trailer - Winning
I feel like a dev already acknowledged they're tweaking the lighting just a day or so ago in this forum, so why keep going on about it? When I see the game on my tv I'll take about it more.Comment

Re: NBA 2K16 Trailer - Winning
I know I can do it myself but height does matter in game when you want to play online . And I don't believe that cuz that's like Farieds height and you can look in the pic and see how short he is .
Blake got measured at the NBA Draft combine and got measured in shoes and seeing players play in shoes his height is 6'10 .
Faried is 6'5"Comment

NBA 2K16 Trailer - Winning
Not to mention this very thread is about a video where it's evident the lighting has been vastly improved.
And yes, the court reflections were much too bright in 2K14. There's no disagree or not about it. They objectively just are, but judging by the latest video, I would like to see them turn up the reflections a bit more, especially at low angles (fresnel). We're getting so close.
There's also one more thing that needs to be turned up to sell the illusion of arena lighting. The under light caused by the arena floor itself. There's likely a bit of it in 2K, but you can see how consistently the surfaces pointing down and facing the floor are brightened in photos and videos from nearly any camera angle.
I would think this could be implemented as a simple ambient diffuse environment map or a reflectance map with mip mapped roughness levels. I bet one already exists so maybe it just needs adjusting, and the engine looks like it already has realtime ambient occlusion, so the map just needs to be multiplied by that so you don't get weird lighting in armpit cracks and such. If that was implemented or adjusted, it would add a subtle but powerful effect of feeling like the players are actually in the space of an arena with hardwood floors and arena lighting.Last edited by Sundown; 08-24-2015, 07:23 PM.Comment
