For many athletes, playing defense isn’t nearly as fun as offensive. The same holds true for many gamers, myself included, more so when it comes to Madden. In the past, defensive efforts felt like going through the motions and that the user had little control over the outcome. Part of that is only being able to control one out of the 11 players on the field, sure, and to a large extent there’s only so much a developer can do to give the user a greater sense of control. With Madden 16, I think EA Sports has made great strides in this department.

You can still guess run middle/left/right and pass.

Loving the D this year. You can cause incompletions that aren't drops by playing the man.

Something that can greatly enhance and help those struggling on defense. Put aside your pride and listen up.

Turn on Defense Assist.

When controlling a LB or DB/S when the ball is snapped hold down L1. The game will allow the player to cover his specific assignment. Once your near the ball carrier or WR let it go and make your move.

It has done wonders for me in reagrds to staying at home, making read and react plays and the best part is playing CB now when I have a Dez, Julio or Calvin killing me. It stays with them in man on man and then let it go to use the new interaction buttons and play the ball, play the WR or just make the tackle.


It's pretty awesome.

This is so you can hold down triangle (PS4) to go jump a route and grab a pick.
