When you consider a Grand Theft Auto title releases every 5 years and on average sells 35-40 million units and NBA 2K releases every year and is on pace to average 8 million units sold yearly. If you do the math then in a 5 year time frame NBA 2K is equal in sales to Grand Theft Auto. Even more interesting is the fact the NBA series may be more profitable considering the astronomical cost it takes to develop a GTA title.
