Bah... 2K16 on Xbox One or PC?

I'm getting back into 2K after several years off and I now have a great rig to run it (in the past I played on 360).

This season is also the one where I'm getting an Xbox One... but I did wanna wait a bit to see what the holiday bundles are like.

So now I'm in a pickle... which system do I get this game for??

PC = Better graphics, 60fps (my rig is a beast), some limited modding
XB1 = Larger, more robust community, better access to community rosters.

I've also heard in the past that PC has been an afterthought. Is this still the case? If I happened to find NBA2k16 for 50% off on PC, should I take advantage?

I played nba 2k15 on PC. If you are into playing offline then you cant really go wrong with PC version. However if you want to play online like mypark or head to head your most likely wanna go with console. Bigger population on console. (there is usuaully at least 3000 on PC from what steamcharts says but since servers are split on regions most those people on UK or that side of the world so when I would jump on the servers was pretty empty.I live in texas.)

I just got a xbox one this month and going to get 2k16 on it. I'm really down to play pro am and my park and just wanna be sure there will be a good population to play against or with.

Green man gaming usually has 20 or 25% discount for PC.

Xbone if you have a ton of friends to play with.

PC version is exactly like next gen minus the face scan.

I already have PC version preordered and planning on getting ps4 version soon.

Yeah, part of the dilemma is that I found NBA2K16 for PC for 50% off... I mean, I'll pay the CDN exhange rate... but it's still 50% off!

For what it's worth, I didn't think the PC's graphics for 2K15 were better than the consoles. If anything it was worse. It felt like the shaders looked a little more primitive and plasticky. I suppose it lends itself to modding better though. I usually pick it up for a console for the full features and ease of big screen play (though I will probably get a Steamlink to address that), and the pick up PC for cheap when it invariably goes on a Steam sale.

The trickier question is really PS4 or XBox One. The PS4 seems to run slightly better and in 2K14 had better lighting contrast, but the XBox had had some features I really liked, like the automatic replay saving (which seemed to not work as well or at all for 2K15) and the trigger vibrations.

When you wanna play park, you will always find a spot to play...Not just negatives in having a smaller community.

Also, the game is much cheaper on pc, like you already stated. Also the 60 fps should be enough in my eyes (haha pun intended), to decide between console and PC...

From what I recently read there is 2-3k players online on pc. But probably a higher percent of hackers and script kiddies

One reason I don't play online...the other is I NEVER saw anyone online as a rough rider.

The current PC version is now a direct port, so it has the same features. It cost less traditionally, but has a smaller community that's growing. With PC, you have less security, but you have the mod community. You also get slower patching (which I can't excuse). The PC market is growing though. It may be to a point where you're looking at price primarily.

As someone who's played 2K on PC for the last 5-6 years (Started 2k9), I can say it's the superior platform for single-player even with a depleted modding community and the graphics are better...

I wouldn't recommend 2K on PC for the multiplayer though due to a significantly lower player count compared to console, players having different system specs which can cause lag, erratic servers, and uneven my-team auction house prices...

I would also suggest getting 2k14 PC and download hawks ultimate base roster. I'm planning on keeping 2k14 loaded in my PC just for the roster (since next gen modding community has been gimped). It's THE most COMPLETE historical roster.

Accurate courts, dornas and the work the modders put for the legendary players. Last gen 2k14 plays great as well.

Don't agree that online is bad on pc. Never had problems of lack players in mypark when played it, also played over 200 quick online games and don't recall any laggy game since april. Online was horrible when 2k's servers were bad and it wasn't on pc only.

Can't comment on MyTeam mode, its just terribly designed game mode anyways.

Play on PC. We need more players.

I was thinking of giving MT a shot this year. I never play CCGs. Can you PM me what your thoughts are on the mode so as not to derail the thread? Thanks.

EDIT: Actually, I play a lot of Hearthstone. But that's it.
