The server for me at least in 11 with our league was good with not a lot of issues. Defense was great (sure there was a forcefield) but you could win a game on the defensive end and you felt in control online or offline and not like you were on skates. I could really go on and on.

But yes games after it added some great things like in depth playbooks, more realistic defense, a far better dribbling mechanic, etc. but some things got better and other areas got worse and it feels to me that the last 3-4 years offense has been overpowered. But like I said, some areas got worse like online leagues being barebones or practice plays missing, etc. features went untouched or got removed. I want to say 11 was pretty well done with all features. Correct me if I'm wrong was crew in 11 or 12?

All in all I just think out of the box it was a well balanced game. It was a game I had the most fun with in a long time! I havnt played 2k since that game all year long like I did that year. But if I was to go back now and play 11 after playing 12,13,14, and 15 I probably couldn't do it. I think it's most memories of that game that year and most people remember being happy with that game all year long.
My thoughts exactly, the way 2k11 is still in our minds is because how balanced and feature full that game was, especially for sim gameplay and online league fanatics. (Even Czar's defensive videos came that year if i remember correctly.) I guess that year there were definitely online league wars between people and servers were not this bad at all.

The gameplay has its own downside then again yet the term balanced was everywhere in that game. You had the control on both sides and everything. Hopefully 2k16 will take its crown to the future.. Sorry going off-topic.

So your basically saying, judging it for its time, it was the best. "Out Of The Box" I can see that. But my point is, in 2015, is there really any argument to say that 2k11 is the better game to play than 2k12, 2k13, 2k14, or 2k15? It seems ridiculous. Strictly judging it on the core gameplay, 2k11 is leaps back from its successors. The problems with THOSE games lie in sheer laziness of the ratings, the random tendencies, etc. If you've got proper rosters, good sliders, the more current games blow 2k11 away.

It depends on what your judging on.

        Online leagues - 2k11
        Modes - 2k11
        On ball Defense - 2k11
        Game balance - 2k11
        Practice plays - 2k13
        Playbooks - 2k15
        Crew - 2k12
        Spacing - 2k15
        Dribbling - 2k15
        Post moves - 2k13
Offensive advancements - 2k12 and up

But last year saw modes missing or untouched. 2k11 didn't have that. But this is a new console generation compared to the end of 1 so hard to compare. I do believe 2k16 will surpass 11 as the goat though.

It all really comes down to balance and the offense and defense not feeling overpowered 1 way or another. We are in good hands with the czar and OG focused on simulation and gameplay balance out of the box. I'd say last year was as close to 2k11 as far as balance upon release. But way to many factors to judge on. I think most people agree the overall game of 2k11 with modes, balance, and at that point in time it was the best of its time. As a game as a whole it was the best game ever made out of the box with depth, modes, and gameplay. Nothing has come close but the sounds of it this year will. You have to remember we are just now getting things back that we had in 2k11.

But 2k11 isnt a better game visually, on court, or anything else besides soundtrack maybe, than any of the others.

Anyone care to change my mind here?

He called it......before launch too..... haha!

Now if he said "2K16 best game ever made" then that'd be something else.....

If there isn't a glass shattering moment at some point, 2K16 seems like it has a legit shot at the title. And OG is a BIG reason...... balance.

            Defensive depth is just...... arousing....

I hate to be "that guy," but it would be great if the thread stayed on topic.

If we have questions we want OG to maybe answer, we shouldn't make him wade through OT stuff.

              Just sayin'. . .

You wanna fire away and shot poorly for that 35 or get that 22 with 6 assists and keep it moving?

I know that allstar/superstar sim is confirmed as the best setting for sim heads as of last year and this year as far as game tuning goes. I didn't pick up 2k15, but I read somewhere here last year that the cpu attribute boosts on Superstar and HOF were no longer visible in the substitution menu. If I remember right from before, allstar was even, below allstar gave user boosts, and above meant cpu attribute boosts.

For HOF slider guys like me, that makes it tricky. I always like to play on HOF for the added challenge and to make wins feel more meaningful, but I'd also be sure to nerf those cpu boosts in my custom sliders to make it an even playing field attribute wise(ex cpu players not being faster then user players through speed boosts). Any chance those will once again be visible in the substitution screen this year?

I agree for the most part. Usually through sliders I can get almost all the stats pretty close to real life on average over the course of a full length game. While at the same time keeping a real feel to the gameplay. The beauty is in the abnormalities for example some games you shoot lights out, some you struggle, but in the end if things are averaging out to close to real sim numbers while the game is playing as realistically as possible that's what you should want out of the game.

The only one that has always bugged me personally is the turnovers. Usually I find that in order to get realistic turnover numbers (without getting unrealistically high steal numbers) on average, I have to lower pass accuracy for both teams to the point that simple passes such as even imbounds are flying over teammates heads. I'd like to see more organic turnovers off miscommunication or just a bad pass from a low rated passer without the ball being off target by like 20 yards over head lol. With the pass accuracy on default I find there to almost be no turnovers that aren't steals. Lowering hands and dribbling attributes helps some though.

The CPU Milwaukee Bucks handed out 4 L's to the community yesterday. I like to call them "Authentic L's"

There's nothing in the game that's going to cheat you, their switch scheme combined with length was causing problems.

OG clearly feelin' it today after community day.

I expect we may hear some smack talk at Czar on tonight's SimHangout.

I'm really looking forward to watching the Bucks this year IRL. Definitely one of the teams I will be following on league pass.

Now I'm double excited to hear they're worth using in 2k and their wingspan has an impact.
