All: I'm having trouble stopping the short pass. I usually run with Cincinnati so my secondary is above average. I have tried to use shading but I am not being successful. Any help given will be much appreciated.

Press coverage and have your zones set to underneath to have your secondary play up more in shorter yardage situations. -

Press cover 2, I like to alter the play and have my FS play centerfield and I rove with my SS wherever I've been having trouble getting stops. Not something you cal call every down because next play they usually try and hit me deep where I've changed coverage to a Cover 1

Depends on what's going down, was playing the cowboys and witten was killing me, man coverage, zone, didn't matter, they got up 2 scores in the first half. decided at half time to change my gameplan, started calling cover 2 man on obvious passing downs typically 3rd, opening up the middle making it super tempting for romo to continue throwing to witten, I usered the mlb who was supposed to cover witten and managed to break up the passes or at least tackle quickly.
if your problem is short crossing routes, it's tough but getting the middle lb down into the route path can throw off the timing and sometimes get a pick.Comment
