Overall, when it comes to offline CFM, it seems like we have 4 options at this point:

1. Play without the tuner or the patch
2. Play with the tuner but not the patch
3. Play with the patch but not the tuner
4. Play with with both the patch and the tuner

It seems that the biggest debate is between #3 and #4, but what I haven't heard here is if Option #2 (play with tuner and not the patch) is worth it for CFM. Thoughts? Or in the end, do most of us generally agree that regardless of the tuner/patch, it's the confidence/dynamic drives system that is really ruining CFM (because it seems that Play Now is working just fine with both installed)?

This is so frustrating and a epidemic in the EA sports business model. It seems that every year marketing tells the Devs we need two new features for the back of the box. So the Devs have to add things like drive goals and other garbage we Sim players don't want.

Meanwhile, there is still basic things missing like a retirement tracker or a history page with past MVPs and Superbowl winners. This same dilemma is present in Fifa and I am sure other EA games. Give us sim!! I want everything you can do in the real league. Not fake back of the box features.

If you replaced one of those devs with practically any mod on here who has the pulse of the sim community we would have our proper franchise mode within a year. But these devs are so out of touch with the sim community it's baffling.

I would gladly pay 60 bucks next season if all they did was spend this next year working out all the kinks and glitches and bugs for this Madden and updated rosters/coaches, etc.

They could advertise it as such, most polished madden ever released.
There have been so many Maddens that were ALMOST, if they had just spent time making those better I think there would be a lot more very happy Madden enthusiasts.

Well I will say something that is not new. But the problem is the confidence. When player start to get over 58 to 60 the gameplay change for worst. I started 3 different cfm and the first game feels and play as play now. Then is star going downhill.

Also why is so easy to get confidence is beyond me. If they say that high confidence should be the norm. Then play now should play as cfm with players are 99 confidence. Not 50 as it is now. People who are tweaking sliders will have to re do many stuff when their players hits 99. Many if not anyone will go back down to 50ish anyway.

Hope ea tune the game so most times players get in the middle 50 and not higher or lower. Those 5 or 10 point of confidence already make an impact in the game.

Before anyone takes Clint's "perceived answer" out of context, I understand what he is saying.



Like Charter stated earlier in the thread, we need video evidence to present to them like Armour & Sword did this morning. They are looking into it.



They just need to take the perceived issues and test them out on their end before confirming they are issues.

I'm sorry, but they can't play a few CFM games of their OWN GAME and see the confidence issue ruining everything?

I don't get why we, the consumer have to make videos of us doing what the creators of this game could easily do themselves. (With the CFM confidence issues at least)

It's clearly there, and it's clearly ruining the CFM gameplay.

Is it possible that the robo QB's associated with the confidence spike is subjective? Because I've also heard others say it isn't an issue for them.

As a 100% sports offline sim franchise player, I have no problem with the game or even this patch.

That's because for the second year in a row, I was smart enough not to buy the game at all. Invested no time or money in it.

EA has taught me oh so well.

Been ducking into the threads every now and again just in case CFM might be worth playing at some point this year. So it was handy to learn a couple of weeks ago that EA said flat out not to play the mode post release, pending a patch.

105 thread pages later on patch 1, I think I have enough data to tell me the patch to fix it. . . hasn't. Not that I'm shocked. I'm not even mad.

Just relieved I didn't waste my time or money.

I'll probably be back again next summer to hear JP tell me how it's really really really going to be different this time.

I shelved Madden once Kolbe said that waiting for the patch was the best move, and I was looking forward to starting up my CFM once the Friday roster update dropped.

Now, seeing long-time guys like Bkrich, who are not known for hyperbole or engaging in the anti-Madden vitriol, say that CFM appears to be fundamentally compromised even after the patch, I feel like a fool for giving Madden my money.

I was all about the game play improvements evident in Play Now and thought there was no way that they could manage to bork CFM badly enough to make it not feel like the same game as Play Now. I thought they had really turned the corner with this game.

I have ZERO interest in this game for Play Now. I ONLY bought it for franchise play. And I feel like I got robbed. Again. But it's totally my fault. This game has a two-console generation record of failing to deliver a basic sim experience.

I won't say much more than that, but I feel duped, and disappointed. With two kids and a budget to adhere to, I can't afford a $60 mistake. I'm going to have to consider getting into basketball, and I'm going to have to play baseball through football season now.

Same type of thing was kinda said about regression and confidence last year too....We saw how much that got fixed then, and still isnt fixed now.

So we need to invest time and energy to provide video proof? Again is this not there full time job? I'm rather lost with all of this and what to even think.

Looks like even if you have a full time job , actually playing a mode for more than 30 minutes doesnt isnt included in QA. Im rather tired of hearing excuses that people who have a paid job to test this stuff cant find what we can in a couple hours of playing the mode.If they looked , it would have been seen . I have a hard time seeing how just because theres so many more of us, that means they couldnt have seen it just as easy with 20 people playing it for 2 days. I dont buy that for a second, sorry.

Kolbe said during the access time there is more people playing and testing during that period than they are able to test the whole year.

He also said they put more resources into CFM this year than ever, yet its more broken than ever?yeah that makes total sense to me.How do you not see players attributes over 100? You just dont look is how. 1 person could have caught that.How do you not even think " we adjusted stock roster speeds, we need to do the same for rookies"? How do you say you had two people working on confidence and regression ALL YEAR, and its still screwed up?It had never worked right since they added it last year and still to this day dont.

So here is my constructive input. They want to blame the fact they dont have enough eyes testing it to find things out in the open to see,here is your solution EA, hire more QA testers, preferably people who actually only buy madden to play CFM. People like that will surely put more effort into what they are testing and look over the mode well.The gameplay on this game is much improved, welcomed and bravo to the team that did that!! That is what is making this so much more frustrating.The gameplay is so good, it really makes us excited to play but CFM so messed up it sucks all the life out of that excitement.Sorry ,but we deserve this fixed this year, not next. Somehow i feel like they will "run out of time" to fix it all once again and we will be stuck with half this stuff still wrong plus something else they mess up if they try another patch.

Ok, so maybe there are some drainage issues out back and some cracking plaster in the downstairs bathroom, but as an offline franchise gamer it's been like a revelation. Playing a really fun game where the developers go out of their way to blow you away with their improvements based on community feedback year on year.

I bring this up in a Madden thread because I'm hoping somehow, somewhere, someone at EA will decide to study what's been happening with that game, its priorities and design, and approach to franchise modes and think, "Hey, maybe we should do that."

I'd love to come back to Madden football if that could happen.
