Re: NBA Live 16 Gameplay Video - 10 Minutes of Rising Star Mode
There were too many animations in the paint that can be described as wonky. It does look improved from 15 but I don't see anything here that makes me want to cop on day one. The pro-am video actually looked good. They have some issues with transition in speed too. I will still try to demo and see how good it is .Comment

I think the only chance they have is to put the game at launch for $20.
Seriously.
2k is coming loaded.. I wanted live to succeed.. But if 2k brings out with their servers and improves at all,
Honestly live has built a BAD reputation.
You could convince many 2k users, if you built a great game to come over for $20.
But to expect to compete at $60 is crazy.
I have been on the live boards supporting, up and down over the past couple years. But I'm done setting. They proved with these videos that the game will still be buggy. Better but it won't be half as deep as 2k and will still have a lot of issues.
I think live will sell better but won't break half a million copies... And with how great 2k is doing ea will scratch live once again. They can't keep buying the ea license and making mediocre games.
Honestly this looks good to me. But 2k looks a million times better. I think this is the game we should have gotten at launch (Live 14). If they did that they would be in a place to compete.
But live 14 and 15 built such a bad rep, that a decent game Luke Live 16 won't be able to overcome it.
With how deep 2k is. I'm certain it's the demise of Live. This is the 3rd year and they only could make an average live game. I love Live. I think this will be an okay game. But it's the 3rd year of mediocrity so I expect no Live 16. That's why in choosing not to put money into a dying franchise.
The only chance to redeem is to drop their pride and make a power move. Sell for $20Comment

I guess if you're comparing it to last year's game this looks like progress, but the animations are still way too wonky! Especially when you're asking someone to pay $60 for the game, they're not ready quite yet for the big time.

I desperately hope one of these games get actual NBA arena atmosphere down while I'm still alive. Having someone throw down a big dunk and hearing Breen say "Oh-ho, (so and so) THROWS it down" while the crowd erupts would be incredible. There has to be a better way to do commentary than the way they're currently doing it.Comment

I don't think selling the game for $20 helps to make this game better. Consumers will have the same criticism of the game no matter if it's $20 or $60. As an added value, the demo is free and you can play exhibition games or Pro-Am online and the progress will carry over to the full game.
If you are comparing this game to only the last two NBA Live games then you can see the progress that has been made.
In my opinion the game is worth the asking price only if you already own an Xbox 1 or PS4. This is not a game that will make you buy a new console. This game will not provide a hardcore simulation of NBA basketball, but I don't think it is trying to. I think Live is trying to reach the broadest audience possible by giving a solid representation of the NBA, an experience that may not be totally immersive to hardcore fans but still fun.
Also there will be no need to spend real money beyond the initial $60 to purchase virtual currency to acquire gear and progress your player.
I do understand the criticisms of some of the animations but I think this game will be fun in an online setting with multiple players.Comment
