    Re: Reviews?

Hopefully later today but might not see anything until tomorrow. After playing my 10 hours, I have decided to wait to see what patches/adjustments come out.

I am surprised there wasn't an NHL 16 Impressions thread, honestly.

I believe the reviews are not printed until the day the game is released (I guess there are non-disclosure agreements to this effect when advance copies are sent).

                Online Penalty Box
But whether you know how to play EA’s hockey games already or not, NHL 16's main weakness is its online play. I played during the EA Access weekend on Xbox One, and on PS4 with a handful of other players, (both on a hard-wired connection to my modem) and I was unable to play an entire game on either platform without some sort of disruptive lag or stutter. Online Shoot-Out mode was similarly frustrating, because while match-finding and connection times were admirable, the connection issues were so bad that I could never confidently tell you if I scored due to my skill or because my opponent saw my avatar deke when I was actually shooting. With so many modes in NHL 16 being online enabled, this really presents a problem if you don’t have another hockey fan next to you.
that doesn't sound good at all but I am not that worried considering I played the entire beta window of eashl 6 v 6 hockey with hardly any lag or connection issues.. so this really doesn't make sense

I'm sure this will be a strong point since one of the focal points of the game is the EASHL this year.

this is a bad review considering it sounds like this guy didn't even play in the EASHL yet or the beta.

sounds like we was trying to play online while they are tweaking the servers getting it ready for release tomorrow

Not concerned about reading the reviews. I got to play 10 hours on EA Access, and although there are a few things Im not happy Bout, it is gonna be the best release of NHL in a long time.

                      Re: Reviews?

Not sure if your a GM, HUT, or EASHL player, but GM mode is definitely better despite missing a few basic things such as in game goal totals when a player scores, and a few other important details on some of there in game graphics, and not being able to play the all start game which is just weird.

HUT seems awesome as usual, especially with the edition of playing the CPU to get coins, which is addictive as hell. Even for someone like me who loves franchise type building in all sports games. Hockey always being the weakest, which sucks because its my favorite sport. But, its definitely better. Hopefully, theyll put as much effort in to it next year, and they may be on the right trck finally.

I also love that the fantasy draft in GM mode is much more intelligent from a tem building standpoint. Its the first year that young players go early despite their overall ratings being lower. They adtually factor in potential, for once. And, that makes it fun to do. So, looking forward to that.

And, obviously, the customization of players attributes and potential is a welcome additon. Its about friggin' time. What were they waiting for? But, at least its in now.

EASHL seems cool, but Im not a big fan of not being able to build attributes on your created player. If you're just simply playing withno reward besides the fun of the game, that would get boring for me. So, its Gm mode and HUT that Ill mostly play.

By the way, the game withthe very best franchise mode maybe of all time is MLB The Show 16. If every game would take a page out of their book, we would have better sports games to play.

I will say goalies feel a lot better vs AI. If you play good defense in front of them they'll stop most shots they're square too. Haven't got a shutout yet, but Niller saved 21 of 22 for me in 1 of my 4 games last night.

Markstrom got lit up for 5 goals on 24 shors in one game but I admittedly played very bad in front of him, and it still not the 5 goals given up on 9 shots of NHL 15.

I am mainly a EASHL player to play club with my friends... I see what your saying about not leveling up your pro but I don't care to much about that to be honest because I don't have time to sit there and do that constantly. I rather be = from the start with my be a pro in the EASHL with everyone else who can play a 100 games in couple of weeks.

also.. I will probably play offline be a pro.. that's really what i'm only interested in from the start. I look forward in picking up the game after work today and got the rest of the week off ... but really the EASHL is the main mode for me and the only reason I buy the game. If it didn't have this mode it is NO buy for me and all the people I play with.

I played my 10 hours without a wired connection and did not have a single moment of lag or issues.

sounds good! PS4 or Xbox1? I just traded my xbone last weekend for PS4 specifically for this game to play club. Everyone I know who I want to play with is on PS4 for some reason. any ways, I loved the xb1 but PS4 I think i like the controller better. I am having a great time with the PES and FIFA demos on PS4 already with the controller. I honestly think I like it better which I didn't think it was better
