Something real small, I noticed the screen shaking at the free throw line for the Clippers but wasn't the Rockets the AI? Does the screen shake at every away game at the free throw line? That'll be a nice touch.

Honestly if you put this next to 2k15 I bet more than half of you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. The animations are still super stuff and snappy, especially passing.

Harden got locked in to the same old canned dunk animation and continued on with the animation despite the ball being knocked away while he was still on the ground and he took FOREVER to get out of it.

The way the players move around the court is so unnatural and identical to 2k15. Then the second you call a play everyone snaps around with no fluidity whatsoever to the motion, just like 2k15.

It seems like a lot of you haven't played 2k15 lately. I was incredibly hyped until seeing these gameplay vids today. Now I'm just neutral and ready for another year of the same old with new modes. The one saving grace is that the stat overhaul should make it so that every single player 80-85 and higher isn't a godlike superstar anymore.

That's why I'm even more confused by the people saying it looks nothing like 2k15 when it's literally 95% the same. Janky spacing. Janky reactions. Awful pass animations. Locked in drive animations that don't recover when things go wrong. Air to air collision on drives is still non existent and alley oops just get dropped in while the defender stands around with his thumb up his *** clipping in to the guy in the air.

The passing really is the biggest offender though. It's completely identical to 2k15. The ball warps in to your hands regardless of where it is in the dribble and your player snaps in to what is usually a completely inappropriate style of pass regardless of where they are in stride.

I'll buy in to the defensive AI being more intelligent but that was never as big of a problem as the janky animations to me to begin with.

Do we know what settings this footage is on? SS/Sim?

                Pro/Default?

I was not too fond of passing as well in 2k15. I wouldnt go as far to say it is janky in terms of the actual animation, but rather how the player receives the ball after a pass. In these videos, I have seen improvement. For example, the catch and shot by Vince Carter in the Grizzlies @ Bulls video.

The game is going to be similar from year to year, that's just how it is. But I myself are seeing plenty of improvements (Spacing, AI offense, pass speed, foot planting especially)

It's all he said she said before the game actually comes out though. No way to tell before hand, imo. Especially in such a small sample.

First never try to judge something from a compressed video format it will always look better on a tv straight from the source, the fact is everyone that has played they game and i stress played they game has said it does not look and feel like 2k15, but this is 2k and things will have a familiar overall appearance.

This is exactly how I feel. I do see the improvements but I too am disappointed in seeing some of the same issues that I thought would've been fixed (sliding though it has improved, being sucked into animations although not as bad as last year, players slowing down unnecessarily on fast breaks to let animations play out, etc..) I don't want to discredit the numerous improvements to the game & I still can't wait to play it, but I have to be constructively honest about it as well. My hype meter dropped from a 10 to a 9.5 but that's only because I hold 2K to a higher standard of excellence. The game will still be great but hopefully some of the issues can be ironed out in a patch or 2.

I also think people forget that like in real life players don't always make the 100% correct decision so we can't expect a videogame's AI to always react perfect. In fact it would be less realistic if players always reacted correctly.
Couldn't have said it better, players make mistakes in real life as well. Were just on the outside looking in. Just as you watch NBA and are a fan of it, your playing 2k and are a fan of it. You can have your opinion but that won't change the outcome.

That Jamal Crawford pull up was sick. The way he landed, kept his hand up, and leaned to his left is absolutely signature.

Stuff like this is why 2K stands above the rest.
Loved that pullup too... serious question... am I the only one who went bananas on that first CP3 jumpshot? These kinds of animations during a momentum swing are gonna be beautiful..

Yeah the "willing the ball in" shooting animations are epic. It's crazy how something so small could add so much life to the game.
