it doesn't give you marks. it give reputation toward Vangaurd/faction.

I logged on for about 10 mins this morning just to turn some stuff in and try things out. Turning in some quests got me half way to 37, and I still have bounties to turn in. For all intents and purposes I could be 40 by the end of the day.

On another note, I've been eagerly waiting for this to drop for about 3 weeks and now that it's here...I'm at work

I also got a green engram from the Cryptarch, that turned into a green, that's better than my current legendaries. TTK just shat on my inventory.

Yep. I just said damn. These weapons are simply relics now. I looked at my Oversoul Edict, Vision of Confluence, Word of Crota and put them in the vault as relics.

I will say it didn't take long to level up to 39 though. I did it in a little over an hour. But appearantly that's nothing because you need to be level 41 to do the strikes.

Been playing since 5 am. Few quick hits.

1. If you have 16 bounties and a focused light....you're level 40 congrats. Literally took 2 minutes.

2. Motes of light give pretty substantial boosts to XP. Use them to level up your weapons.

3. You have to solo the 3rd class missions.

4. If you play through the story missions you should IMO have enough armor and weapons to be in the high 220's. I'm at 228. As a level 40, you will see greens weapons drop that have a 197 damage rating, armor that is from 195 for green. I've seen blue weapons as high as 223, your reward legendary is only 200....Blue armor as high as 234.

5. Took us an hour but I was able to knock out the daily heroic with two friends. Its the same as the end of story mission.

6. You get three Legendary Marks for dismantling legendary weapons. So far, I am sitting at 63.

7. The ship lady gives you the exotic quest that will lead you too The Chaperone.

I have to run, but will be back on. Will probably work on my warlock when I get back.

So jelly right now. How were the story missions, that is to say, was the story at least passable?

I have not been the most up to date with all this, but are you guys dismantling exotics that are not included in year 2?

You can, because they are max 170 and you use blueprints to get them back...but you will have to relevel them.

But if the year one exotic is carried over to year two then to get the upgraded version for 150 legendary marks.

The story missions are fine. They are short but engaging. They open up a lot of other Quests after the fact which is cool.

I should mention the legendary weapons that you dismantle for legendary marks need to be TTK legendaries.

So what do you do with the field test weapons after you've completed that "quest"/bounty for the week? It was 2500 pts. I used the Pulse, Hand Cannon, Sniper, Rocket Launcher and completed it. Do I just keep the weapons now? What's the business about "special orders"?

You can keep them, but Wednesday is when the gun Smith has legendary weapons that you can purchase from him after gaining reputation with him.
