    Madden 17 wishlist

Hope it's not to early but figured could just put it out there.
We all know what is in M16 and what is not so here we go

I would like to see this
    1. Radio broadcasting= Enough with sims and nance lets get the radio broadcast back to bring some excitement to the game, a little emotion. It would be awesome even if they could do a certain broadcaster for each division so it would always change up when you play their stadium example if your playing a home game against the packers it would be different then playing against the panthers. I think that would bring the game alive.

2.Chemistry and practice= teams get better by running plays in practice and build confidence with each other this way. Making a play successful by running it multiple times and getting it correct gains chemistry with team mates and experience. Kinda the old head coach approach the .more times you run the play the better success rate you have with it. The more a qb goes to a wr the more confidence he gains and chemistry with the qb, now if he drops 3 passes good luck getting another ball thrown your way.

3.Upgrade your stadium in franchise remember they use to have this buy you never saw your things you bought well now lets see them on the field, tents, huge big screens and so on.
4.Assistant coaches=offensive and defensive coaches with things they bring to the table, maybe even wr coaches,db coaches and so on.

5.Ratings= I honestly think if FBGs rating work as good as he says with madden then they need to get him in there to do it. If he can make animations better with his ratings and make players play like real life then lets do what it takes to get him in there. To me players in the 90's should only be HOF.

    6. New O line interaction with better movement.

7.Challenge system= Still want to be able to pick what I want to challenge, although most of the time I can't even challenge a play at all

    8. Make the playoffs feel like the playoffs, they are making strides with living stadiums but still needs alot to go.

9.Better AI with players running out of bounds, maybe its just me this happens to?

    10. New equipment and faces for create a player.

    11. Mascot interaction with fans and players, think that would be awesome

    Franchise

    1. Separate online and offline franchise and build to their individual strengths

    2. Custom Draft Classes or editable rosters

    3.Playable CPU vs CPU games

    4. Assistant coaches/ new coaches... I'm tired of seeing coaches get passed around from team to team each year. (I'm in my 6th season of CFM and Mike McCarthy has coach for the Packers, Patriots, and Bengals)

    5. More in-depth stat tracking, record tracking, have previous records and stats in the game from previous season, and make a bigger deal of records (I had no idea Peyton Manning broke the all-time passing yard record until 6 weeks after it happened)

    6. Easy control over all 32 teams

    Presentation

    1. Upgrade presentation for CFM. What I mean is, have the announcers talk standings, stats, positon battles, playoff battles, key injuries, updated scores from other games (important information I may need to know for my team)

    2. Game Ticker- Just like the NFL, have a bar on the bottom of the screen that gives what I mentioned above (stats, scores, transactions...)

    3. New/ upgraded announcers... I am just tired of hearing a negative Phil Simms.

    4. Hall of Fame- I would like to see the NFL greats get honored.Madden is on the right path with Legacy Points, but have those mean something... The hall of fame i a huge part of the NFL, and I want to see it get it's recognition in the NFL licensed video game

    5. Living worlds- I would like to see the crowds react to what is going on during the game. I want to hear the crowd take a big breath on a deep pass, I want to hear the difference in sound when I score a regular touchdown as compared to a game winning touchdown or field goal (same goes for announcers), I want to hear players names get chanted, I want home field advantage to matter like it does for the Chiefs or Seahawks.

    Game Modes

    1. Commissioner Mode- Essentially a franchise mode, but you have control over Everything... I am talking rosters, draft classes, team relocation's, divisions, season length, play any game, add new teams, use your imagination

    2. Exhibition playoffs- When my friends are over, I want to set up a tournament. Every year for fantasy we decide the draft order by the results of playing in a madden tournament. I think this would be fun/ handy if it were implemented for the online crowd

    Gameplay
I have never been this impressed by gameplay for a football game, but there is always room for improvement

    1. Running styles... some players hit holes hard, some use their shiftiness, some use hard powering running and lower their pads... Other run top heavy, some run low to the ground. I want to see running backs have their own styles of running, and I want to see it affect their game play

    2. Weather... Have weather matter. When I play in a rainy or windy game, QB's shouldn't be throwing the ball as easy as they are. Fumbles should be more prevalent in sloppy games. The wind affects the kicking game, why not the passing game? More timid movements in snow/ rain games. If it is hot out, have stamina be more of a factor.

3.Physics.... (I'm not complaining) But my 6'1 205lb QB was up-right in the pocket, and as Aldon Smith came off the edge to nail him, my QB knocked him to the ground in an Earl Campbell like way. Or Tavon Austin stiff arming linebackers like they are little kids. Bascially have size and momentum matter

This is just a start, and I know the community is full of creative ideas. Share what you have, and hopefully we can keep on building to Madden and make next years Madden that much better!

        Mine are easy!

        go back to

        1 button 32 team control
        formation subs
        depth chart lock
        editable draft classes
ALL things that were in game before that were taken out!

        Better commentary
        Better halftime show
if you choose to relocate a team more team names and uniform options!

Formation subs and i agree with you about practicing plays. It would be cool to have to practice certain plays in practice to help excecute it better in a real game.

Actually use the power of Next-Gen.... why is this game only roughly 15GB? Other games like 2k are around 50GB. They can add and do so much more... but they continue to slack hardcore.

Like this years CFM problems. How did the LT/QB Regression thing go unnoticed but it literally took customers less than a day to find the bug? Franchise Mode should be their #1A and #1B focus. I guess the reason I buy the game is to play football as close to the NFL as I can get. I don't need fantasy rosters or trading "Gold, Silver" level players. I can do that in my Fantasy Football League.

Instead I feel like they invest way more time in modes that can get them more cash via "Coins, Packs, etc."

Another thing I would love related to depth charts is the ability to fill a position with a rotation. Like a 60/40 split between 2 running backs, or rotating 3 DTs between 2 starting spots.

Not having to dive into the depth chart and shuffle for every series to implement this like we have to now.

                Franchise

                1. CUSTOM DRAFT CLASSES!! Just take a look at 2k and copy it nothing less nothing more.
                2. 1 Click 32 team control. Heck even 3 or 4 clicks but not a 40 minute process like it is now.
                3. Formation Subs. How has this not been put in yet...
                4. Assistant Coaches.. How are even the coordinators not in the game? I don't want to hire some created EA coach if I fire my coach. I'd like to add a former coach or an assistant.
                5. Updated version of NFL Head Coach type draft/free agency.

Really my wish list isn't a wish list... all these things should already be in.

#1 and only 1 - Edit Rosters - The ability to edit your
                  Rosters throughout your CFM !!!!!

Drives me crazy when they have a feature and then get
Rid of it ... Great example is Mlb The Show the ability to
Edit Rosters in that game is insanely good !!!

Allowing us this feature back can atleast help us
with many things such as Regressing/Progressing
Players all the way thru our Dynasties ... Editing
                  Contracts is also needed ....

Now that Tiburon has brought over some guys from
Mlb The Show maybe jus maybe they'll bring this
MUCH NEEDED feature back to this otherwise
Great game .... ** REX PLEASE SEE THIS **

                  KRushEm out !!!

                    Re: Madden 17 wishlist

                    1. The during game presentation is nice except the close ups are way way way over done. In fact I get a headache from it. Bring the camera back a bit.

                    2. QB animations need to be redone. Especially the throwing motion. That little hop that happens at the end is an eye sore. I have never seen a QB do that .. ever. The throwing motion out the flats is really bad too.

                    3. Defensive assignments and formation subs.

                    4. Polish up all the warping and shifting that was created with the wr / db interactions. If a DB isnt in position to make a play then he shouldnt shift 3 yards to start a pass breakup animation.

                    5. New announcers and scripts please. I hear the same 3 or 4 lines over and over and over again every single game. If Nantz and Simms cant put in the time then get people who can and will.

                    6. Pass blocking needs to be overhauled. If it cant be done in a single cycle then spread it over 2 or 3 and get it done.

                    7. More fluid gang tackles. Right now it just feels kinda floaty and literally no pad sounds at all. I want to hear tackles and see a 2nd or 3rd defender come in and land a hard hit.

                    8. The load times are horrendous! This needs to be cut down significantly.

                    9. The football needs to behave more realistically. Less shifting and warping into players hands and through players.

                    10. The camera angles this year just feel off to me. Not sure what it is. A custom camera option would be nice.

                    11. Better weather effects. The rain looks like PS2 / Dreamcast rain. It needs to look closer to that of say Driveclub. Same goes for snow!

                        Re: Madden 17 wishlist

I had posted this in the Pass Blocking thread a couple days ago - I suppose this would qualify as part of a Wishlist:

With the existing "tackle" tech they added for the defenders diving/latching in relation to the ball-carrier and the angle of attack, a similar function could be built with linemen to simulate the angles of a pass rusher. As the defender(s) engages with the lineman/linemen, depending on the angle the defender is at in relation to the angle the lineman is at, it would trigger a varying set of body relative animations.

For example; DE is speed rushing hard, giving his inside shoulder and leaning to get around a lineman who is using good technique - the engagement points being the inside shoulder of the DE and the chest of the lineman. The lineman is able to ride the DE out of the play.

Another example; DE speed rushes, lineman is slow with his kick-step - the engagement points would be the DE inside shoulder and the outside shoulder of the lineman...this opens up a rip to get to the QB.

Yet another example; DE sets up with speed rush, lineman kicks out too wide and turns shoulders too early, engages the defenders inside shoulder with his inside shoulder...DE now has a wide open lane to Spin inside.

Final example; DE lines up 9t and comes out with a successful Bull, engaging into the OT. Then the 5t swings around following on the stunt and the RB is forced to engage while the G is on his butt or looking for someone else to engage. Things like realistic stunts and independent player engagement would really open up the blitz game and allow for the confusion of a 3-4 (or aggressive 4-3) to model reality.

Further, if both "shoulder" engagement zones are not already engaged (ie. a G punches the NT without engaging), the other side is still free to attempt to punch or hold a defender off (blitzing LB). If the blitzer comes home before the lineman can turn to him, the linemen's "back" engagement zones would not allow for the lineman to truly engage until they've turned themselves...and at that point, at best they're getting the "back" of the blitzer triggering a "push" animation attempting to move him out of his rush lane.

In fact - knowing that the Madden team wants to keep the player engaged, it could present a much more engaging Pass Rush "minigame".

                        If controlling a rusher, the player could choose what "move" to use either prior to the snap (to predetermine a pass rush) or during the play (if playing the run first) - along with controlling their angle to the QB. The effectiveness of their move would be determined by the engagement angle(s) and their move rating/traits;
                        - Bull: STR, PMV
                        - Speed: ACC, FMV
                        - Spin: AWR (?), FMV
                        - etc.

They could play off your prior selections to add to the calculations of a "successful" move. If you're a DE and have been mashing the Speed Rush on every 3rd down, but you come back with a Spin move on 3rd and long, the move is more likely to be successful thanks to you "setting up" the Tackle to over-reach.

This could potentially even allow for the User to play as the Olineman too, presenting a play-to-play minigame involving things like the Kick (press X), Slide (with LS), Punch (L1/R1), etc...or for runs Drive (with LS), Cut (press O), etc. Imagine playing your buddy online, you as the LT, they as the DE (or vice versa)!

Not only do they already have the tech for the "engagement zones", they do already have the QB Drop built into the play design -- they could program the lineman to reach/hold a landmark (for 3, 5, 7 steps) based on the QB Drop already built into the play. Each 3, 5, 7 could have the slides available for when calling your own pass pro. Instead of line play being pre-determined engagements, it would be slightly more landmark based (somewhat similar to the existing Zone Defense tech) along with the tech they already use to determine the defender they are "looking" to engage...the difference being the engagement is not set in stone pre-play.

Heck, they wouldn't even have to change the preplay for the Dline either, they already have their rush lanes built in to the defensive play design...the "engagement" just wouldn't be predetermined.

Maybe that's just a dream...but that's how I envision existing Madden tech being utilized to account for a more realistic simulation of proper Oline/Dline play. It's still animation based and using tech that already exists in other forms...so it's not like it would require a complete rebuild. I'd probably even try out the Player CFM as an OLineman if that existed...that could be super intense seeing a DLine crashing in on you, and you able to crash back!

You guys have basically covered everything.

My top pick would be emotion. The opening scenes to this game between the cards and steelers are awesome. Take some of that. The crowd, players, sidelines, and announcers need to reflect the actual emotion of the situations.

                            Re: Madden 17 wishlist

Here's what are some of my suggestions:

                            CFM:

                            1. Rework Drive Goals- Have a main goal (hold the lead, score points, etc) that will gain your team confidence and xp if passed and the opposite (don't lose xp) happens when failed. The reason is even if you fail the goals, you wouldn't lose confidence (and that's a big issue). Also have an optional goal if you want that extra xp (like get x yards with Antonio Brown or hold opponent under etc) but have no penalty if failed

                            2. Functioning Auto-Subs- For obvious reasons

                            3. Refining the draft classes- To make sure the incoming classes aren't overpowered (depends on who will be doing ratings next year; Dan or someone else). Also, I would wish we could control the parameters of the randomizers in the draft class in case if they're overpowered.

                            4. More presentation improvements- Different graphics and stadium atmosphere when in playoff games compared to the regular season games. Also, improve the UI to show playoff stats and to show the teams on the player cards (to improve immersion).

                            5. CPU vs CPU- Or at least let us change our opponents uniforms.

                            6. Be more generous with XP (but not too much)

                            Gameplay:

                            1. Defensive Assignments: This is needed especially with the DB/WR interactions (I want Vontae Davis to cover DeAndre Hopkins all game).

                            2. Formation Subs: Which will also make it's return next year.

                            3. More OL/DL interactions- The battle in the trenches is important in the NFL and it should be represented in Madden

                            4. More fluid and organic animations in all forms

                            5. New tackling animations

                            Draft Champions:

                            1. Allowing you to play DC with friends- This might be the addition that will help Draft Champions close the gap against MUT plus playing would friends would be a blast in the mode with your own fantasy team.

                            2. More rewards for MUT

                            Extra:

                            1. More uniforms- More uniforms will extend the life of a CFM more than most think plus it would be cool to see more throwbacks in the game. It would probably be in a system similar to NCAA 14 (uniform packs).

                            2. Eliminating Legacy Issues- The more of these eliminated, the better the game will be (less cheese).

                            3. Presentation improvements- More accurate jumbotron animations, the return of classic stadiums (Mile High Stadium, etc), improved uniforms (hopefully Kane delivers on that), dynamic time and weather, and stadium atmosphere.

                              Re: Madden 17 wishlist

                              A of stuff already covered.

The major one for me would be to bring proper training camp modes and get rid of this Dungeons and Dragons XP nonsense.

All players get the chance to improve - which ones actually do will depend on their playing time, determination, intelligence, athletic potential and your assistant coaches skills. During training camp and weekly training sessions set what sort of skills you want your players to try and improve.

Players real OVR and maximum athletic skills should be hidden or kept very vague and replaced with a Reputation rating depending on how well the player is producing, pro bowls, how much media attention he is getting etc. This would affect contracts but not the real hidden OVR.

This would mean genuine overrated and underrated players would be available in free agency and give the Madden player interesting decisions- do you overpay the WR who might has got inflated stats thanks to the elite QB who was throwing him the ball etc? Is this RB the real deal or was he just running behind a great OL? That sort of decision making adds real depth.

Two other specific things for me that would add some nice depth to franchise mode

                              1. Proper attention to special teams - lets see a few blocked kicks, muffed snaps etc in a season - make the Long Snapper position important! Make the CPU punters better at coffin corner punts etc- just make the whole thing more tense and interesting. Right now special teams play is just dull.

                              2. Completely overhaul the injury calculation mechanic. This one is actually very important. Right now the only chance a Madden player has of been injured is either if they tackle or get tackled. That's a terrible mechanic. Of course a big hit can increase the chances of an injury - but in reality any player can suffer an injury on any one play.

They can also suffer injuries during training camp and weekly training sessions. Again taking into account proper training routines during CFM would allow these sort of injuries to take effect. And this brings more interesting decisions for the Madden player - do I push the guys hard in training this week and risk more injuries? Do I bring back a player a week early from injury and risk a re-injury?

As it currently stands so long as you play all your games and not sim your entire season then your Offensive Linemen are essentially bulletproof.

EA need to dump the injury hit mechanic and instead have a calculation based on real NFL data that predicts the chance of injury on a play or in training camp.

That way we'd see injuries simulated realistically and make depth chart decisions much more interesting.
