Re: NBA Live 16 Demo Available For Xbox One and PS4, Post Your Impressions
Forcefield I know is fixed in Day 1 patch, and I just completed a game and had 3 turnovers out of bounds, one which came off of a timely trap by Kevin Love and Lebron (trapping Durant in the corner, made me shuffle my feet onto the line). It was crazy satisfying, considering WHERE on the court they trapped, and how they cut off my lanes.
The Late Game AI, I'm not sure if that's in the Day 1 Patch or not, when I was playing down there, I had awesome results, going into triple OT, etc, and the CPU fouling when they needed to, getting quick shots, etc.
So don't give up hope that it's not in. Maybe it was Price, maybe it was someone else who mentioned the late game AI being an issue back in June (didn't get to go) but after speaking to 3 different devs on the issue down there, they believed they had every issue sorted out with it, and the build they pushed to us showed it.
The swatting the ball in the passing lane, you may need some timing work 24th
I'll be honest though, I think it could be tuned better still yet, but I'm able to deflect my fair share of balls each game, as is the CPU. Lebron picked one and went coast to coast against me a few minutes ago.

You do realize that a day 1 patch is still part of development, right? They don't magically appear out of nowhere.

The demo was horrible IMO and sadly I think this will be the final nail in the coffin for EA's NBA franchise.
Shooting % is ridiculously high for human and cpu teams. Players warping to the rim and warped passes are out of control. Players movement and animation is very choppy and jerky.
I did like the player and court/arena graphics but not much else. Maybe a Day 1 patch will correct some of these issues but regardless this is NOT a $60 game.
For $25-$30, it might justify purchasing it as an alternative for the other game but EA is generations behind their competition.
Either blow it up and start from the bottom up OR throw in the white towel and move on. They can't keep putting out "stuff" like this year in and year out. It's really sad considering how great Live 10 turned out to be.Comment

Tip off bug from last year is STILL there. I wish a ev would acknowledge this. When playing against the cpu you win the tip off EVERY single time. You literally can just start slamming Y and you will ALWAYS beat the cpu. It is bad enough the tip off always goes to the pg but never losing a tip off really kills the immersion.Comment

After messing with the sliders for a while, I feel much better about Live 16. They work and work really well. Grant it some you have to turn way up, damn near maxed out to see some results. They key game changing slider so far for me is the shot contest impact slider. Turned that down to 40 on the CPU sliders and as a USER you can now hit contested shots with star players like you suppose to be able to.
Earlier today I played everything default and I noticed shooting was like it was last year. As in, if somebody standing within 2 feet of you, the chances of you making a shot was pretty low. On the flip side the CPU didn't have this problem at all, they were draining 3's on step back jumpers over double teams. Annoyed the hell out of me. So for the USER side, you will want to raise that slider to 60 to dethrone the CPU shooting god.
I turned most of the CPU shooting down to 40 also due to the fact they don't miss enough shots, especially layups in traffic. Got their dunk frequency down to 40, might have to make that lower because the CPU loves to dunk in Live 16, pretty much their main way of scoring other then lay ups and step back 3's. Not much of a mid range game from them.
Another important discovery I noticed related to the shot contest slider. It seems to be tied to the defensive awareness for the entire team. On 60 I noticed my team trapped a hell of a lot more, effectively fronted and denied the post a lot more which resulted in the CPU actually running plays trying to get people open. Help defense actually was occurring in a timely and effective manner.
Finally the offball push offs on 80 with a success rate of 70 makes the battle in the paint more organic. You see more battling for position down low. So with right slider adjustments Live 16 have a legit contender on their hands.Comment

This is not a very good game at all. The amount of fault I found while playing was almost embarassing, especially when u realize everything in this game was out doen by 2k8 by itself.
The animations arent realistic by the standards set by 2kk, the gameplay lacks strategy or any kinda cohesiveness when it comes to playing the game of basketball.
I felt silly and insulted even playing the game. I understand some people may like this arcadey approach but it just feel like a lazy cash in, therw is no love or soul in this game, it feels like a 1998 game.Comment

Re: NBA Live 16 Demo Available For Xbox One and PS4, Post Your Impressions
My last post was a bit rash so I a going to extrapolate a bit.
Positives:
-The hand off mechanic. Looks good and works pretty well.
-Graphics: some of the players look great!
-Some of the signature shots look awesome
Negatives:
-Rebounding, passing, and dribbling. Which makes it hard to play the game. Passers warp as they pass. My guys go into slow motion trying to rebound. I can't start a fast break, period (but the CPU can). I try to go around a pick to pull up for a jumper and as i press the shot button, my guy takes two steps in and ruins the opportunity and it is absolutely maddening.
-Drives to the basket: I can't even count how many times the CPU drives straight to the hole as if I'm not even there. No resistance by my defenders.
-Interior shots are simply horrifying to look at at times.
-My AI team mates constantly leaving their man wide open for no reason. In one instance I saw Klay Thompson just walk away from his man and let him shoot an open three.
-Animation quality in general is still odd and warpish. The off ball animations look nice though.
In general, this game just seems to be a chore to play for me. Maybe I just suck at the game, but I really don't think that's it. It's just "off".
P.S. The game gets so much worse on All-Star difficulty. The game is way more enjoyable on Pro with adjusted foul and shooting sliders.Last edited by blingballa333; 09-16-2015, 02:13 AM.Comment

Ok, based on the pro am gameplay I saw on YouTube, I decided to give the demo a chance. I played one game (the finals game while it finished installing on xb1). My impression at first was it isn't as bad as I thought it would be. As the game progressed I found it easier and easier to drive and dunk. And harder to stop the cpu from doing the same. Still it was a bit fun. The animations was a bit jarring but I was overlooking that. Unfortunately my experience was ruined towards the end of the game. After trailing by 13, I just repeatedly drove and dunked with either Westbrook or Durant. I noticed my center was gassed battery icon drained. I tried to sub him out. Three deadball situations happened and he just wouldn't sub out. The sub was "pending" but just wouldn't happen. Mozgov then scored 3 consecutive dunks. Luckily I was able to keep up with my own dunks. Then down 3 with 40 seconds left I was able to get an and 1 dunk with Durant. I admit at this point I was excited and having fun. Then the free throw meter disappeared while I was shooting. Very late missed free throw and still no substitution. They inbounded the ball 32 seconds left Lebron was slowly walking up the court, I'm thinking one stop (even though my center was useless at this point). The clock is down to 19, I noticed somehow the shot clock and the game clock WAS NOW IN SYNC! And my teamate wasn't fouling him to stop the clock. I switched to Durant and repeatedly pressed the steal button to foul. But for 15 seconds nothing happened, not even a swipe at the ball Durant just stood there and game clock just ran out. Game over.
Now naturally I'm like wtf? My experience was ruined.Comment

Tried it and it's pretty bad, after the Cavs vs Thunder finals I wanted to give the Pro Am a shot but the installation got hung at 45% after 2 hours of downloading, restarted my PS4 and another hour and it was only at 57%. Ended up deleting it.Comment

The live demo is a joke.
No depth in the gameplay,
passing is warped and crazy fast,
the off ball movement is nice but without proper passing and momentum it's just an aesthetic addition.
defence is non-existent.It's just a force field that a player is engaged for a second or two and then when he disengages he has a free pass to the lane for a dunk.
No help defence.
No contextual interactions lead to animations without purpose.
And the demo as it is(12 min games) just goes to show that after a month the game it's going to be budget priced.
Why should i buy this ?
I really feel sorry for easports and i can't understand how such a big company is unable to produce a contender for nba 2k.Can't they just put the fifa game producers to help them?Comment
