"Player-lock" defense is horrible

Ok this is my first Madden since 2009. I think they improved the game a lot. However, I like to play defense with "player lock". They broke this mode because the CPU never and I mean NEVER throws the ball your way unless you're way out of position. I've done a lot of testing in practice mode and I can 100% confirm my theory.

I made a CB with 15(yes 15)spd. I then played my safety in cover 2 man. As long as I stayed on the receivers hip not once did it throw my way. It however was more than happy to throw into triple coverage on the other side of the field. This is unacceptable.

Am I doing something wrong? Has anyone else noticed this? Thanks.

Not saying it to be rude, but you are 100% wrong. I play CB and the CPU will definitely try you ALOT and sometimes they don't. It's very realistic imo. When you are playing against a Dez or Megatron, seems they throw the ball your way a lot more. Here are alot videos:

I know it's a lot and it's a lot more. I wanted to show you that you'll get attacked a lot. A lot of these are the same games and some I didn't even record. I ended up winning DPOY and breaking the INT record, I believe.

I've been playing CB since back then as well. And this one is probably the best since they fixed supersim and you can attack the ball. The most fun I've had at the CB position.

My settings are All-Madden. No slider adjustments.

No adjustments besides putting it on all madden. I am surprised you aren't being tested. I get tested a few times a game. You must be all over the WR lol. Try to make the QB think they are open.

Yeah I have to agree that I don't have this problem either. Have played quite a few games as both CB's and FS/SS in player lock, both on AP and AM as I've been testing sliders.

If you don't think you are being challenged enough, play as a nickel corner some time and try and cover a slot receiver man-to-man, with no defensive assist or other helpers. You will get burned and picked on often.

Yeah, thanks guys. I've got it going now. I've got 7 ints. with my corner now. Funny thing, I didn't start getting thrown to untill I got my first INT. Kinda weird but it's all good now. I'm liking it now. Thanks.
