Unreasonable trade difficulty?
I understand that nobody wants AI that allows the user to game the system and make one-sided trades, but there has to be a happy medium. I am trying to rebuild a team, so I want to have more draft picks. I have the 12th pick (which, according to the points chart widely used, is worth 1200 points). I played around with trying to get a deal in that neighborhood. I kept lowering my requests, without any team willing to deal. For example, I talked to Carolina, who turned me down for 1 (23) [760 points] and 2 (55) [350 points]. I was told they were interested, but "need a little more." And, hey, I could definitely accept that some teams reject the points chart, but I negotiated with four different teams. Each wanted "a little bit more" as I kept lowering the price under 1200 points. Are others seeing realistic trades? Is it just how draft picks are valued?Tags: None -
Re: Unreasonable trade difficulty?
I tried before the draft. I thought during the draft you are limited to what offers they present to you (and you cannot see what slot, only what round is being offered). Can you open the manual trade during the draft?Comment

Re: Unreasonable trade difficulty?
When the the draft is in progress you can still go to My Team and do a manual trade with any other team. Just don't run out of time....Comment

Re: Unreasonable trade difficulty?
If I'm doing a trade I pause the draft. I don't if I'm just making a pick, but doing a trade it's almost impossible to do it while not paused.Comment

Re: Unreasonable trade difficulty?
Even if this was the case, first off the team trading for him doesn't pick up the bonus so it would be actually a reasonable contract, that aside if they want to do the trade they will say yes, then it will give you a message about them going over the cap. The computer is actually just turning down players in trades that make complete sense (then turning around and giving away studs for almost nothing other times).Comment

Re: Unreasonable trade difficulty?
The cpu also looks heavily at schemes and whether these players fit them. When you offer a trade does their interest indicate high or low? Usually the ones with a high or green interest also fit their scheme. I do wonder if teams consider salary room when making trades at all or even if they have a set salary.Even if this was the case, first off the team trading for him doesn't pick up the bonus so it would be actually a reasonable contract, that aside if they want to do the trade they will say yes, then it will give you a message about them going over the cap. Re: Unreasonable trade difficulty?
At least there is a work around. I found a team that matched up on the points chart, created a new character for that team and had that team do the trade (then retired that character). Only took a few minutes, so that wasn't too bad a solution.Comment
