Reading through this thread is brutal. D-Rose is getting slandered hard in here by people that clearly didn't watch a whole lot of Bulls games last year as opposed to looking at box scores.

I'll admit I didn't watch a ton of Bulls' games, but you can tell from his stats he isn't nearly as good as he once was.

      15.9 PER, 1.2 WS, .493 TS%, .3 VORP.

Every afternoon, the 2K people say "Time to coffee and laugh hard". They read this kind of thread for about 10 min. and get back to Work.

Knowing that everybody here knows the exact formula to OVR ratings, therefore all the angry. I'm gonna give "The Real Explanation" The OVR Ratings means the max a player can perform. This with the consistency and inconsistency ratings gives how his performance can fluctuate. So a player with 83 OVR rating and 60 inconsistency can perform worst than a 77 and 30 inconsistency. Ok Moderator you can close the thread. Go back to play 2k16 and see how i'm right.

WAIT.... You don't even have the game yet.

But post injury? His athleticism took a massive hit. It's not a stretch to say he's on par with Wroten. I don't think his athleticism will ever return to what it was.

The crazy thing is Rose is still Very Athletic, he's still one of of the fastest with the basketball . The thing is Rose just doesn't " dunk " like his younger self and doesn't have that blur speed pre ACL. What I'm saying is Rose is more timely with his athletic ability unlike Westbrook who shows it off 24/7 . Rose was always the smoother athlete and Russ the aggressive one . People always thought Russ was more athletic than Rose but it wasn't pre injuries cuz Rose beat him in every category at the combine .

Also to not Wroten is coming off an ACL tear so yet to be seen if he taken a lil dip .

I love all you guys yo, for real lol...

Please stop taking anything I say personal. Look at my avatar; I'm a Sixers fan. Have been since 2000...and I was still playing on the swings back then haha.

But I will still take Wroten over Rose simply due to his injury history and the fact Wroten is taller and more athletic. From a pure skill standpoint OBVIOUSLY Rose is better...and I never said he wasn't.
Funny thing is, I love Derrick Rose lol...

Now, I never even said Rose should be lower than an 80...nothing of that sort. All I said was that they put up similar numbers so imo their shouldn't be a 9 point difference between them. It just so happens that Rose and Wroten had similar stats last year so I can compare them.

(And during the end of last year Wroten was doing the same thing), plus every time MCW was out Tony was balling out.

I'm really just mad it seems the Sixers weren't really updated. The faces seem the same, and the ratings look the same. You can't play like Wroten really does with his rating right now, which is were my gripe comes in.
I don't wanna be Jordan, I don't wanna be Bird or Isiah, I don't wanna be any of those guys.
I want to look in the mirror and say I did it my way.

Yea 2 year layoff and not his knee not really right the first half the year will do that to you .

Rose body fatigue was surely in question because in the 15 games were he had 2 days rest he shot 46 % from the field.

We got lucky because it was only a partial tear, and from everything I've seen in articles he's ahead of schedule with his recovery.

How do you know you can't play like Wroten with his rating now, Lol you played the game ?

Whatever rating Wroten's been the last frew years I've always been able to play like Tony . It's not hard with his skill set just limit the 3's he takes cuz he not a good shooter but as in terms of getting the to the basket / rebounding / passing you could still do that with him .

That's great. Is he only going to play on games with 2 days rest moving forward?

It still factors in. He has to prove that he can do that consistently. The other games still count.

I mean with the new NBA scheduling he would have had a lot more rest periods . Nearly not enough back to back games this year .

Anyway missing the point I know Rose needs to play better but he had a lot to overcome . Huge layoff for an professional athlete of his stature isn't easy . The lack of chemistry with an upcoming all star Jimmy butler , thibs lack of running an offense and the fact his knee didn't really heal well after the meniscus tear . I expect him to be like his 2011 season stat wise , his playoff play was encouraging. Also happy he's finally gotten in off season to work on his game again in Cali with Westbrook other than rehabbing .

I usually get a double double easy playing quick ranked games...but he's a bad finisher in traffic...in real life he might be better finishing with contact than he is without.

agreed. It was me who pointed that out. My point is every 6'6 player will have a good wingspan (unless there is some sort of defect). Not every player the height of Rose will have his wingspan.

Where did I say he isn't a better athlete? I would appreciate if you actually read my posts before replying. Either that or stfu and don't reply to me.

Omg you've written articles about the dunk rating in a video game? I'm surprised the NBA hasn't offered you a head coaching position.

Don't try and brag about your credentials I don't care about them.

Point still stands. Looking solely at dunks is over simplifying athleticism.

Isn't there a saying that goes like, "stats don't tell the whole story,"? Yes his efficiency and other parts of his game dropped.. But if you were to have watched all the games last season you'd know, he passes the eye test, he just was a lot more cautious. He wanted to ease his body back in and stay healthy..

Why do you have to be one or the other? I've never understood that position. It's just flat out ignorance. The only way to make an informed decision is to take in ALL available information and form a decision then.

So to ignore all metrics and stats is just as ignorant as those who rely solely on them.

They're just as bad as each other.
