I kind of like that the single OVR formula seems to overvalue offensive ability, just as teams do in real life.

If you put any stock in Wins Produced/48, which attempts to measure the marginal value of specific events, and, unlike a lot of stats like PER, actually accounts for shooting efficiency, DeAndre Jordan led the league last year, followed by Steph Curry and CP3. You could certainly make a case that DeAndre is one of the 10 best players in the NBA.
If you go back and look at WP/48 over the past decade or so, it generally tracks well with who we think of as having been the best players in a given year, but it always serves up some interesting surprises.
What will be interesting is if, in spite of not having a top-10 OVR, he could make just as valuable a contribution to your roster in 2k16. If so, that leads to some exciting chances to find hidden value in players with the right skills, just like in real life.
