He is a great scorer, but that doesn't make him a great OVERALL player. He is a star in the NBA, no doubt about it. I just think the majority of people who know their stuff, think he doesn't do enough other than score to be considered a legit, top ten player. For a player that constantly demands double teams, his 3.1 career AST average is entirely too low, for someone who has the ball as much as he does. His defense, well we don't need to go there, but lets just say it's very average. He is a good rebounder, but that is generally because he doesn't play tight defense on the perimeter, so he's usually hovering around the paint. I think what is most obvious about Melo, in regards to overall play, is his lack of consistent effort of the defensive end. My personal opinion is this, if he got his weight down to around 220 and was in better shape, his overall game would be able to come to life. Although, at 30 and coming off of an injury I doubt after 12 years in the NBA that he is going to change now.

Lol I find it hilarious. It's funny how scoring isn't that important only when people speak about melo. If healthy melo will show this year he deserves to be probably higher on the list. Also Aldridge is such a hard player to rate for me because of his shot selection. I know playoff defenses are good but man didn't he go like 13 for 37 against Memphis in playoffs? Now HE is inefficient. Would much rather have had cousins there to be honestComment

Kawhi is not better then Melo..... trade places... spurs are a 70 win team knicks are in the lottery. Kawhi is a good player but not on Carmelo Anthonys level.Aham...because he is? What makes you think Melo is better than Kawhi? Because he can put 50 in a game and simply let's the other team score 40 on him...?
Don't get me wrong, he's a tremendous player on the Offensive side, but on the D, he has the potential and the body for it, but he just doesn't like to work for it. That's what I hate about him and love about Kawhi.Comment

I think Steph is a fantastic ball player. Great shooter, has incredible instinct, and is great passer. But there's no way that he's only a notch under LeBron, let alone *better* than KD.
There are two sides of the ball in basketball. Curry is elite level on one side, and is able to be hidden by his team's all-time great perimeter, and interior defenders on the other side.
LeBron is an elite offensive player, and a better than average defensive player. Is he as good of a shooter as Steph? Absolutely not. But he's one of the games best finishers, best scorers, best passers, playmakers, decision makers and foul drawers. Not to mention that he has clout around the league.
Could it and should it be argued that Steph is a 90? Sure. But historically, LeBron is one of the all time greats. And since the ratings are based off of all time greats(there are only 2 other SF in history as good as LeBron: Pippen, Bird and perhaps one day KD) then LeBron should be higher than, or have a greater gulf between he and other players.
Not a fan of recency bias.

Lol while i don't necessarily think kawhi is better than melo, this was a terrible comment. Kawhi is WAY more valuable to the spurs than melo would be. Spurs would be easily getting worse if they exchanged kawhi for melo. Though I also think melo is more valuable to the knicks then kawhi would be.Comment

'Nique was a beast, no lie. But again, in the annals of NBA hierarchy, I believe that the 3 players that I mentioned are the best at the respective position. I'd take no issue, nor have any qualms about 'Nique being a mid to high 80's rating.Comment

stephen curry top 2 above AD and KD, and only a notch below LeBron, is laughable. I can understand KD being that he was hurt but still. I would even take Harden, Russ, and CP3 over Curry. I wish 2K would stop gassing players ratings because of team success. Just like last year when almost every Spurs player got a ratings bump. And
at people saying Kawhi is better than Melo but have no problem with Curry being so high when his defense is worse than Melo's
