Do the players move like tanks like in 2k15? Input lag? Bottom line are players more responsive than they were in 2k15?

It is MUCH more responsive, at least offline. The players can take small steps and it makes all the difference in the world. The whole game feels smoother and faster, and there are new movements on offense and defense to give us more angles with which we can attack and stop an attack.


Presentation has taken a GREAT step up. There's so much work done in this game that it's mind blowing. I know 2k is a triple A company and title right now, but it's still amazing to see this much work go into a single, less than a year cycle.

Can someone please tell me what the speed burst is this year? They got rid of the R2 being speed burst but I can't find what it's been changed to. Sorry if this is a rookie question.

Sorry should have been specific, but ya was referring to offline. That heaviness and lack of responsiveness was not good in 2k15. I have the game waiting for me to pick up, but that 2k15 tank movement is a deal breaker.

Nevermind i'm an idiot. I had read that R2 did something different this year and in the Controls menu it didn't say anything under dribbling or defense. I'll take a lap.

The fact that I can make this had my bro freaking out. He didn't know much about the game but when I showed him this he said he's going to buy the game tomorrow lol. Granted it's not very accurate but I just did it to show how in depth you can get.

Going On by Gnarls Barkley was added into the soundtrack! It was also in 2K9... I've had it on my iPod since that game... Soundtrack is overall solid.

You just need to play on a lower level. There is a lot more basketball in this game than any other we have made. You need to be really fundamentlly sound with game mechanics and knowing your team before you move up. ESPECIALLY if your not a hardcore gamer or have stick stick skills.

You can't put it on superstar sim and expect the same level of success you had in past game.s. I always start on pro and only move up when I can do everything well enough to blow out the AI consistentlhy.

I must admit 2K15 got me into some bad habits...especially shot selection, lol

Czar- When can we expect the update you mentioned that makes Bigs use more of their post moves? I believe you said there was an update coming after launch, that made the AI more realistic. (Although I think its been great so far for the most part)

I just had one of the best online games ever. I was trailing the whole game and fought my way back to tie the with 18.7 seconds left, my opponent give to Harden and I knew what he was gone do so he dribbled the time down to 1 second and did a turn around jumpshot for the win and the stadium went nuts. This is the best b-ball game ever created I truly love this game.

Obviously, this game is sick. So, rather than simply just echo most of what everyone else has said. Because most of the things being said, I not only agree with. But, would have a hard time seeing anybody being able to provide an argument that 2k didnt kill it with the gameplay, and the depth of alotof the popular modes is borderline amazing.

But, heres a couple knocks that I have because there are a few.

1. Im disappointed with the Career mode story and Spike Lee thing. I think its weak overall and not nearly as immersive as I was hoping. I honestly think they should just scrap the whole story thing and just allocate those resources to making it an awesome sim like MyGM. Maybe they could add more to the mode overall if they didnt waste their time programming all the story aspects and cutting Spike Lee a check he doesn't deserve, based on the finished product..

Dont get me wrong if they did the story right with a bunch of dialogue crossroads like an RPG, and you actually felt like you were your MyPlayer in the mode than I'd be all for it. But, they didnt get it done from this standpoint, IMO.

But, the career mode games are a blast and there is a decent amount of depth from the sim aspect. So, the mode overall is still fun just wish I could fast forward through some of these weak cut scenes.

2. The crowd flat out sucks and is virtually irrelevant. Which for an NBA game, thats a kind of a big oversight. Crowds are very important at any NBA GAME. Im going to turn it up in Settings when I jump on tonight. Did anyone turn it up to a certain level and think it was better? If so, give me a heads up. Much appreciated.

3. A little disaaponted in the think engine they supposedly rolled out. I was hoping for more depth overall from that. I need to play more and I always sim a few seasons before I start a myGM so 8 can check everything out and get a hang for how the game was programmed. Progression seems OK but overall jury is still out.

4. Small thing, but I was hoping for the News Ticker as part of the in game presentation, not just on menus. But, that thing is loaded with data. Loving that touch. Find myself doing more in menus to check out whats going on around the league from the ticker.

5. Create a player is a little weak. Its not awful but when you put a game like this out, you raise the bar for the whole game. And, overall they left alot out. Most peoplethat like this feature knows what those things are. But, its almost like they ran out of time or resources because based on 2k's ideas and approach, they also know what all the stuff is that people want to see by 2016.

And, theres a couple other things that are mediocre that I think will be complained about as the next couple weeks roll on, and some of the excitement dies down.

But, with all this stuff being said this game has a shot to be an all time classic. I love all of the other new stuff. And 90% of the game was done as good as it gets. EA needs to attend training classes hosted by 2k so maybe one day they can actually make a game thats actually worthy of this generation of gaming, besides FIFA (which is amazing IMO).

In the next couple days, I will be starting my GM mode with Sac Town and Boogie Cousins where in short order, we'll be heading to either Pittsburgh or Saint Louis, still trying to decide.

Does anyone know of any good draft classes for PS4? Im new to this seemingly awesome community and not sure if anyone has got any good ones from a specific user. If not, Ill have to make my own.

Just go try your local Gamestop, they'll have more copies. I preordered online with an In Store Pickup option on Gamestop's site but for some reason it didn't send that information to the store. But the guy was like, don't worry we got plenty. We always get extra of games even for Preorders and early releases so I'm assuming most Gamestops are the same way.

Just go try your local Gamestop, they'll have more copies. I preordered online with an In Store Pickup option on Gamestop's site but for some reason it didn't send that information to the store. But the guy was like, don't worry we got plenty. We always get extra of games even for Preorders and early releases so I'm assuming most Gamestops are the same way.
