This coach that shows up everywhere. Who is this guy?

I'm playing quick games and in timeouts this one coach (white guy with brown hair that sounds video game actor-ish) who's not part of the real coaching staff is talking to the team, and when he does, he talks over and mutes the commentary.

Who is this guy? He shows up on GSW, and I've seen him with the Lakers in screenshots. Is this like a MyCareer thing that got turned on for other games? It's pretty jarring if you know the coaching staff, and it disrupts the commentary and presentation.

Is this a bug? I hope it's a bug. It feels like a bug. Because it's weird to see NBA championship coaches be usurped by him.

LOL. I was just going to start a thread about this! The guy looks Latin. I am like, who the blue hell is this? He's on every team it seems. I was the Knicks and I thought they removed Derek Fisher lol. Then this guy is talking and I am like what? I am glad I am not the only one who noticed this.

I've seen this guy too. I think he's supposed to be an assistant coach or something. If you notice, while he's talking to the players on the bench during time outs, you'll see your head coach in the background talking to the rest of your team.

It's pretty jarring to authenticity and presentation as well because whenever he talks, the game mutes the actual announcers in mid sentence. Live's approach with wired coaches is much better but I'd prefer to just not have him altogether.

Why did they insert this mystery coach? His voice acting is really bad, and he's the same guy on every squad...Then, when they cut to the huddle from the other angle it's the actual head coach directing the huddle. Really weird presentation decision on behalf of 2K.

To me, he looks like a twin to the Celtic's head coach. I believe he is supposed to be an assistant who uses the lines that Doc Rivers was in 2K15.

It is annoying that he mutes the commentary because half of what is said doesn't even apply to the actual game being played.

Idk why 2k doesn't just hire voice actors to do either an impression or just a random voice for the Coaching staff likeness'. What's the big deal? I'd rather have fake voices. It's better than having a fake assistant coach who has 29 clones.

Same with 2K14. Does anyone remember the cringe worthy cutscenes with the mute NBA players having subtitle convos with you? It's not like it's illegal for voice actors to voice NBA players. Does anyone remember lil penny? Kobe and Lebron have been voiced over.. To name a couple.

Last year, it was cool they added Doc Rivers but I bet if you choose the clippers, all his voice files aren't there, when they should be during timeouts.

Also disappointing not being able to see Kevin, Clark and Greg commentating when you're at an arena. Same goes with Dom and your "twin sister" during New York games.

This HAS to be a bug...it's also one of the most annoying and immersion breaking things about the game. Hopefully this is patched out immediately.

I agree...Should have been left on the cutting room floor. Definitely looks like a takeout. Just can it completely. Immersion breaking is an understatement. Just, look at him!...Lol...His voice work doesn't sound like a professional actor in any capacity, and he says generic things that have nothing to do with the game.

His name is Tony Winters. Same name as the 2K15 coaches.

Yeah that's the coach from MyCareer. How did that slip through...look at 2K trying to force MyCareer into everything
