What's everyone seeing so far from the AI defensively?

I swear every time I run a pick-and-roll, it's an easy basket because the third player who's supposed to help the helper is super late. Tuning the Help Defense slider did nothing, changing teams to "Protect the Paint" defensively didn't help... I got nothin. It's not even like this is something 2K usually struggles with.

I should have done that from the beginning, my bad.

All Hall of Fame, Help Defense at 50. The defense should be rotating as soon as they see the pick-and-roll coming, and there should always be a third defender between the roll man and the rim (I mean, I'm not an NBA coach, but from what I've seen, this is basic pick-and-roll defense across the league). In these videos, the help comes, but far, far too late.

Also, on that last video, Klay Thompson takes himself completely out of the play by being abnormally aggressive. The AI does that a lot, if that can be addressed.

I had noticed that the help of the help on p'n'r had been toned down from 2K15 (mentioned it in the impressions).

I wonder if ratings play a role in it like defensive IQ and such. Sometimes it's so obvious that third guy should step in but he doesn't. I didn't find it abusive though but the rotation is definately lacking at times.

Playing on Superstar Sim when I successfully execute a pick and roll, I've been blocked by A rotating defender multiple times. It's not cheesey it actually feels good to be punished for making the wrong play/read

Interesting vids. The 2 worst examples were when Bogut didnt come to help off Mozgov. Im not sure what Speights D ratings would be...high 60s?

Ill keep a look out for it.

Yea I see what you're talking about. I play HOF 12min but I've only been testing the game with one team. What I see is the CPU running "ice" a lot which is cool but sometimes I would like to see a different look especially if I'm getting the big in foul trouble by attacking him. I have tested it in the sense of abusing it but I'll test it out and see.

I don't think it's tied to IQ unless the ratings are broken. Bogut doesn't help on obvious drive situations, and I've gotten a lot of easy slow developing clear lane PnR dunks when the AI doubles Curry and sends no help on the roller.

defensive ai plays pick and rolls a little too good, its like your man doesn't set a good pick. it is also a lot harder to get by your man this year, at least to me

Ive actually been killing the pick and roll as well but since ive been in the lab HEAVY i didnt have enough game experience to base a legitimate compliant.

I think screens are great this year. The best we had imo.

Tbh in 2K15 the rotations were a little too perfect, not realistic either.

Are you using Sim game style or Default? I noticed a huge difference in Foul calls on Sim, and if you look at the foul sliders for Sim, Shooting fouls are on 75% I think. I had a brutal double OT win last night, Bulls over Cavs, and each team had around 30 free throw attempts. Noah fouled out for me, and pretty sure Kyrie and Mozgov each had 5 fouls for the Cavs.

I'm actually quite pleased with the foul calls on All Star Sim. Enough that I don't plan on messing with the sliders.

All Star sim. This happens to me on a regular basis in MyCareer.

I do like that your AI teammates get a lot more steals this year in obvious situations.

I you have an elite defender, he get you about 1 steal in the passing lane a game...

There are def some flaws in the CPU AI against you though...some rotations they miss..

I would also like to see my AU teammates handle off ball pick situations better...
