So I contacted the 2K support and here's our conversation:

Me:"Friends on the East coast can join MyCourt but my friends on the West Coast are not able to. I live on the East coast, so is it region locked ?"

As an NBA 2K player myself, I know how frustrating it can be to not be able to join friends online. That's why I'd love to help you out with this issue as best as I can!

How does this directly answer my question ? Beats me

Then I replied back saying this:
"My friend is still unable to join MyCourt nor can I join his. I believe this part of the game is region locked because friends on the East coast I can join but I can't join my West coast friends. This is absurd. Please give me a work around"

Let the waiting of 24-48 hours begin

I wouldn't expect a reply, after 2K sent me a similar generic message (they told me to restart my router) I wrote back and said that didn't solve my problem, I'm still experiencing it as are others (even linked to this thread) , etc and it's been three days without a reply.

Are the MyCourt system and Pro-Am supposed to work? I thought they were just for show, like maybe they were a preview of 2K17

48 hours after submitting a 2k help ticket and tweeting 2k support and still no response. Although even if they do respond I am sure it will be a worthless generic response like everyone else has received.

If this design was intentional, I may return the game. I can't play with almost all of my friends because they're on the east and I'm on the west.

Because of the work of diligent players like you, we've been able to collect enough information about this issue to notify the development team, and they are currently working toward a solution. Unfortunately, we do not have visibility on their progress here in customer support, and so we don't have a timeline for a fix to be implemented. That said, please follow us on Twitter (@NBA2K), as this is where new info as well as upcoming patches will be announced.

So it does appear that they finally acknowledge this is an issue but we will have to wait for some sort of patch to get anything done, who knows how long that will take.

Sadly, I dont think this issue will be fixed. If you check the leaderboards of ProAm you'll notice teams rankings are sorted in Western,Eastern,Europe and Asia, I think this whole problem is by design.. 2k probably didnt have the decency to think that people were friends or acquaintances with people that didnt reside in the same region... This is very disappointing for someone who is from the east coast but works out west. What really ticks me off though is that no one has even acknowledged the fact that this is a problem. If you check 2k support you'll see them acknowledge all of the problems with the game so far except this one crucial one, its like when they dont want to own up too their own mistakes, they'll probably rectify the issue in 2k17 and try to play it up as a new feature...

If you saw my response from 2k support, it does appear they are aware that this is an issue and the dev team is working on it so it will hopefully be fixed, however we dont know how long that will take.

MyCourt is broken, Pro-Am is broken, NBA 2K16 is a waste, look forward to 2K17

Does anyone test the game before it releases. I have run into a lot of bugs in the past 4 days.
