They were never intended to. Their confidence goes up or down based solely on their statistical performances from game to game.





Drive goals are meant to be only for a user-controlled team.

I never knew that drive goals were only for the user team. That's weak, I'm glad that it ended up being OP, and that I used the workaround to disable them.

I only played a 3 minute quarter game but I was still able to get 3 or 4 drive goals in it offensively. Here's a screenshot of him post game.



I also encountered a really odd bug. I don't know if they're connected or not but I was playing and forced a fumble so it put me on offense with a new drive goal. The play was reviewed and overturned so Denver got the ball back but my offensive drive goal stuck while I was on defense so there was that. Then when they came out to run a play, this is what happened:

Week 5: Everyone on my team -all 53- got a +1 Drive Goal confidence in a 45-18 beatdown at the hands of the Pats. I think I saw it pop late in the game after a Dez Bryant completion of a drive goal in garbage time. This, at its core, is what's wrong with Drive goals conceptually, but this feels like one of those situations where it would have given +5 or +6 before, and that very well may have been a bug that was fixed.

I took PLENTY of confidence negatives from this ugly game, too. I took video of the confidence screen.

Yea I liked seeing my defensive guys losing a point of confidence for letting up 300 yArds through the air, and not getting a sack.

oh well, i´m glad they tweaked, i would love that they would turn off this $@#$@ feature but i guess it´s better than nothing. I may still keep doing the workaround though. I like my Drive goals to be 100% off. Hate having bonuses over CPU.

However, "Upon Further Review" I'm sticking with "The Booker" workaround, because I don't think that having an advantage over the CPU is going to work for me in the long run...

It's going to be relatively easy to win the title with a rebuild in about three years, with these boosts implemented for my team alone...

It's a "User Preference" thing, but without this info, I wouldn't be able to make as informed a choice...

I will too, more than likely. I'm just one of the guinea pigs testing this stuff out (plus I wanted to check all of the gameplay at default again, so there's that too).

But I think this might appease some people who didn't want to take the time to do the workarounds - it doesn't seem nearly as "broken" before. It's definitely more of a user preference thing now, as you said, rather than broken-not broken.

No, I'm pretty sure it was a normal play. I'm guessing you just had back to back unconnected bugs.

Even nerfed he will be in the 90's by mid-season.

What exactly are all the work arounds. I know the 32 team control but im not exactly sure what the work around is for and if there is anything other you guys are doing. I haven't started my CFM yet because I was waiting for this patch but Im soooo ready to start. Any suggestions on what to do to get the best CFM experience,

Yeah, it was crazy before. Even if you lost and played poor you were still doubling anything you lost on drive goals alone. And, to be fair, I was playing on Pro so I could do my best to accomplish as many drive goals as possible. Playing on tougher settings you'll be less likely to be able to roll together consecutive weeks like that but goals as a whole, even with drive goals completely off, seem geared way more towards reward than penalty but that may have changed with the patch as well but I'm not sure.


And to a completely different point, is there any reason why the 100 or so fixes aren't listed? What would be the point of obscuring what may or may not have been changed? Obviously Drive Goals was one of those things but it doesn't make any sense to me to hide or not announce anything that was changed/fixed.

Well, it kinda does. Drive goals are a brand new feature and I don't know if EA wants to come out and state publicly that they lessened the effects of it. Let's face it - us hardcore types on this board are the only ones who would have even noticed this. Most people probably don't even look at the confidence screen (although they might be clued into it from the CFM frontend depth chart now). The rest will go on with their franchises without even noticing it

What I'm happy about is that, if this isn't just a sample size placebo we're seeing, that the talk from Clint about "hearing us" on drive goals being broken and overpowered wasn't just....talk. They actually did something about it, and that deserves some respect.

West and David +1 confidence, why? Drive goal? this will give them 16 points for doing nothing.
What i don´t understand is how you can miss a Drive goal if you have one per drive. From those videos i still not see any player without the Drive goal bonus, its a bonus, really.

I need to see this for myself...because they added that function where you can just adjust guys to 50 confidence if they are below it.

Actually this "drive goal" thing is our fault. Community complain last year that it was really hard to get players out of the low confidence, so they created this "drive goal" so player can get confidence up faster.

They said it on an interview.

A possibility I warned against last year.
