See, if your Special Teams Coordinator was here, you would easily have won this game. Just look at the kick return, punt return and field goal stats.

On a serious note though, good season. Hopefully these recruiting allegations arenʻt too bad. You never know, Coach Bob could fill in a some point.

Looks like you pulled off one of Coach Freday's famous comebacks..... minus the win. I do commend you for coming back from 27-6. I don't do that often. Most of mine are from 10-17 points.

        CFP Semis

        Florida tops Tech 31-17

Florida is back in the National Title Game for the third time in five years.

Led by Heisman winner Will Grier's 381 pas yards and 3 TD's, Florida rallied from a 17-3 deficit late in the second quarter, tied the game at the half and took the lead for good on a 17 yard pass to true freshman Andrew Chingon en route to a Cotton Bowl semifinal victory over #3 Georgia Tech.

UF padded their lead with a 10 yard TD pass to C.J. Worton at the start of the fourth quarter and staved off the Yellow Jackets in the red zone a few times late in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.

Florida's defense held star Tech RB Obi Love to only 46 yards and Tech QB Brian Ward threw for 229 yards and a TD. Worton caught 8 passses for 124 yards and a score for Florida.

USC advances to Title Game, 30-12

Coach Quinn Shea continues USC's magical season with a win in the Orange Bowl over TCU, 30-12.

USC built a 30-5 lead deep into the fourth quarter on the strength of SC QB Jalen Greene's 398 passing yards and 2 TD's. Michael Skinner led USC with 9 catches, 115 yards and a TD while Heisman finalist Dontrell Marshall rumbled for a pair of TD's.

Luke Summerstall missed 3 field goals for TCU. Star tailback Shaun Nixon led TCu with 89 rushing yards and a TD, while QB Foster Sawyer threw a pair of INT's.

Florida and USC will play in the National Title Game on January 7 in San Antonio.

I've marked this game with an asterisk, so neither team really won. All good though and we're on to next season. Thanks Harlee!

Not a bad season by any means, but looking forward to seeing how you do with all of "your guys" on the roster next year. If the offense can keep that up and Diaco can work his magic on the defense, UConn should be back in the playoff hunt.
Tell me about it. This is the third time it has happened in this dynasty (the other times I covered up, we're 1-2 in those games ), but considering I played this game back in August the night before school started, I just wanted to get the game done.

Should be more interesting next season. Our talent level next year won't be as good as this year, but I still think we can contend for a conference title. As long as TDL continues to improve under center, we'll be fine.

If McNeal could've broken one return.....I think you've left your mark here in the recruiting field, as you'll see later on.

Anyhow, we'll see what the NCAA has for us. As I've said, Diaco will be back next season unless the investigation is really serious, so we'll be alright there.

Coach Trebell needs to win at Hawai'i. Then we'll talk.

Haha. Agreed, I think this is one of the biggest comebacks in the dynasty to this point.

Thanks everyone for the comments and support. Offseason should start on Friday!

Is that a plug for Sony on your Florida picture there?

I'm surprised Tech's QB threw for over 200 yards. Is Paul Johnson still there? They still running the flexbone? That is a lot of passing for a flexbone team

USC hangs on, claims 12th national title

Capping off an undefeated season, the #1 USC Trojans came out of a slugfest victorious for their twelfth national title (fifth undefeated), topping the #2 Florida Gators 38-30 in San Antonio.

USC struck first blood after a John Plattenburg fumble recovery led to a 4 yard TD pass from Jalen Greene to tight end Pierre Russell.

USC would build a 21-10 lead at the half, and extend it on another TD pass from Greene to Dickerson. However, when USC looked to put the game away up 18, Florida clawed right back in the game. Swain Rolle picked off Greene at the Florida 5, and Dustin Gilmore ended the 95 yard drive with a Florida TD.

One half of USC's two headed rushing monster, Lamar Holycross, got on the board for USC with a 7 yard TD run to push the lead to 35-17 midway through the third quarter.

Heisman winner Will Grier finally got things moving, firing a 13 yard TD to Jomani Bomall, and after USC punted twice in a row, Grier hit freshman Andrew Chingon for a 38 yard TD to pull to 35-30 after failing to convert the extra point try.

With time running down in the fourth, a touchdown for USC would put the game out of reach. However, they had to settle for a long field goal from All-American Carlos Caldwell and he drilled the 56 yarder with just under a minute to go.

Down 8 with a minute to go, Grier moved Florida down the field with little difficulty. Grier threw a gorgeous pass to Darryl Ray (which broke UF's single season school yardage record) and moved down to midfield before finding Andrew McKenzie for a 16 yard pass over the middle. A spike later, Grier found Sam Crooks to get to the USC 25 yard line, though they needed a TD.

A few incompletions later, Florida was forced into a 4th and 1 situation with 10 seconds left at the USC 25. Needing a touchdown, Grier bided as much time as he could, but eventually pressure from USC's All-American linebacker Kenton Suber forced an errant pass and clinched USC's first national title in 14 seasons.

USC Coach Quinn Shea is the first CAC to win a national title and the first to reach the CFP. Greene threw for 347 yards and a pair of scores in being named the Playoff's most outstanding player. Dickerson caught 8 passes for 124 yards and both scores, while Holycross and Dontrell Marshall each ran for TD's.

Grier threw for 518 yards, 179 to Bomall, but it wasn't enough. Florida loses in the National Title Game for the second straight season, and for the third time in the past four seasons.

            Unintentional, I promise.

That's just a matter of me not editing my pictures, which I really should be doing a better job of. If you flip through the old Massachusetts State dynasty, you'll notice that a lot more.

As for GT, Johnson is still the coach and (I think) they still run the option. There's a chance their playbook might have been changed in the roster set to neutralize the option teams dominating in dynasty, but I can't confirm or deny that right now.

At some point before the start of season six I'll put out a big list of who is coaching where for everyone's reference.

Damn. Your quarterback throws for over 500 yards and you can't pull out the win? That's tough. Great win for Coach Shea though.

                Full Bowl Map

Again, for those of you who may or may not be caught up, I started changing corporate sponsors of a bunch of bowl games a few months ago, as you'd see in real life. Found a list of Fortune 500 companies and related their locations to the games and went from there. There was a list of changes posted last season, but if anyone's curious I'll repost it. CAC bowl games are highlighted, couple CAC user showdowns! Still a few guys left out though (eh-hem, Coach Crenshaw). Even having 20 CAC's lined up for next year, let's get everyone to a bowl game next year.
I think we can do it!

whughes: I'm not so sure they care as much about the 500 yards and losing (though disappointing, though good point) as much as the fact that this is the third National Title Game they have lost in the last four seasons. I sincerely hope we don't have any UF fans floating around here.

Anyhow, thanks for the 'grats for Coach Shea. Problem with him is that he hasn't been recruiting very well (he is clearly a better game manager than recruiter, understandable), so I hope this success lasts as long as it can.

At least one of us could do so.

                      Guru's Final Thoughts:

                      - We can finally tuck this season under the bed and call it a night. I'm ready to move on.

                      - TDL's completion percentage was pretty good.

                      - I believe Johnson makes it 4 straight 1,000 yard runners for UConn. That's good to see!

                      - I can't wait for Jeff McNeal to move back to RB next year. If he can do that at cornerback in extremely limited PT, look out.

                      - The great linebacker race is on with Diggs and Carrezola graduating and at least nine young LB's looking for 3 spots. Should be good!

Congrats to UConn's Hall of Fame, Class of 2018!

                      RB Arkeel Newsome
                      LB Vontae Diggs
                      LB Luke Carrezola

I'm sure Coach James and the rest of the Roadrunners staff would have like our game to be much closer, but I'm happy with the win! If only the offense put up that many points during the regular season we'd break apart for the cluster of our division.

Also, not a good time to be a Florida fan like you said.

Would you mind posting your sliders? Or sending them to me in a message. I'm mostly curious how you managed to get 5 passers over 4000 yards on the season. The leading guys in my dynasties are usually right around 3200 yards which is obviously not realistic in today's college football

I just used a set of the community sliders (should be this one on the OP). Matt actually sent me his recommended set around July and I've been using it since. Got some great realistic games and the stats look solid around the nation. Though I hope the Old Dominion receiver racking up 2,000 receiving yards doesn't happen every year..I'd have to make some fixes at that point.

                              Notes from the Author:

                              - 50,000 views! Unbelievable that we've made this the 14th dynasty in the football section to hit this milestone. Thank you to everyone for the continued support!

                              - For the CAC preview, would you guys just like a couple paragraphs for each coach or full position breakdowns, like a two-deep depth chart sort of thing? Let me know soon if you guys have an opinion. Thanks!

I say for coordinators give them depth chart for their side of the ball and head coaches get a paragraph or two highlighting strengths and weaknesses in the depth chart
