    Game variety on Superstar/Sim

What are you guys seeing as far as game variety on Superstar/Sim?

I can consistently beat the CPU, but I haven't seen any big blowouts...

    Just a few questions....

Have you you guys had a one guy hit 2/3 3's in a row? or as a team at all?

Have you guys seen the A.I go 4-5 possessions without a score?

Just wondering what you guys have experienced...

Cpu is completely unshakable. You can't get back to back to back stops i don't feel like. Say i hit a big shot or smash on someone's face in career, i get zero momentum boost. My team doesn't have any elite defenders but i feel as a team it's very frustrating that i can't get stops consistently. I'm a my career and park player exclusively until they fix pro am but I'm not feeling like the cpu ever gets "beat up" unless i jump out to a quick lead.

I have been seeing a well balanced challenge on Superstar/Sim. Having great games against the elite teams, and the mid level teams giving me a run for my money if I'm not playing well. I have only blew out one team so far and that was the Suns, with my Clippers in My League

      To answer your questions:

I have hit 2/3 3's here and there usually comes from Paul Pierce or JJ Redick when I run in transition.

And I have seen the A.I go plenty possessions without getting a score

Overall Superstar/Sim has been the ideal level to play on this year for me.

        Re: Game variety on Superstar/Sim

I play with suns. I play superstar sim. Rarely hit open jumpers or see the computer hit jumpers in a row but they will consistently hit the open jumper. Liked 2k15 very much. Overall like this one, but they force the ball in the paint non-stop. The Suns have an elite point guard defender in Bledsoe. Elite paint protector in Chandler. I'm still unable to stop them inside. Only team with variety seems to be the Warriors who will attack your weakness. They will swing the ball to open spots, inside and out. Also these are the only games when I don't feel cheated after loss. I've been following Da Czar and Sam Pham You Tube videos for tips. Also practicing in freelance and scrimmage. I feel myself improving in skill, but not translating in wins. Da Czar recommend going to All Star Level to build up your skill level, but I blow out computer on that level and end up resorting to pick and rolls, because I am unable to hit shots consistently. I very much want to play sim ball. I'm thinking about adjusting sliders on Superstar, but don't want to do that until regular season comes. Afraid if adjust they will patch something in rosters and would be forced to adjust again. Sorry for the rant. Just been reading the boards and hear the frustration the other members have, but when voice your concerns they either think you bashing the game, or the dreaded get you stick skills up. I love the game, and just want to learn to play the game the right way. I can appreciate the work and little things that went into this edition. Actually Da Czar is inspiring me this year. Sorry for the long post.

I can only recall one real dry spell I was the Wizards and held the magic scoreless for about 4 possessions or so. It is like they purposely took out any of this happening for lack of a better word artificial difficulty or some ratings boost.

          Here is what I see:

          • Definitely hasn't seen back to back 3's The CPU only takes threes if the are double and swing it to an open man.
          • Every single game I have played against the CPU has been close I am talking one to 6 points win or lose. I have had one overtime game and one double overtime game already.

          • You play good defense too good defense the CPU is going to get the offensive rebound and score.
          • You sag off a non threat the person you let go will free will get the offensive board almost always. It is like everything is coded to happen a certain way based off how you play even if it really shouldn't happen.
          • If you sag off any Ok shooter and they are open they are going to make it within a few possessions.
          • You play too good defense then the CPU will warp either a pass through you in traffic, warp through you dribbling air out of the rock or your CPU teammate will get back door cut one of those is going to happen.

          • You trap in the corner say baseline the CPU will turn his back and then through a laser pass on a line perfect to a cutting man that you doubled off like clockwork. All of these are programmed instances.
          • You make a FT on a deadball and someone is open for an easy layup lol. I just can't get good defensive stops with all of this foolishness happening
          • You beat a defender and he warps back in front of you man lol

All I know is I'm tired of seeing myself build up a 12 point lead, get subbed out, and come back in down by 5 every damn game...

I'm on the Spurs and my backup is Tony Parker FFS, not like the team should fall into a canyon without me on the court for 3 minutes.

Honestly doesn't feel that much diff from 2k15.

-CPU picking off every pass its like they know as soon as I press the button
                  - Dumb teammates allowing the simplest backdoor passes
                  -horrible transtiion defense.
-the cpu making any and everything while I miss the easiest shots and layups
-im still getting input lag on defense.

                  very disappointing tbh.

I'm having problems on pro/sim... Looks like the same problems people said above... The slowering on defenders and 90% plus points from below the rim are too much from me... I'm not having problems on going to the rim... Guess learned how to beat the defenders, but didn't learn how to stop the shots from
                      Inside...

Honestly, I get much more variety of games on all star. Superstar just feels cheap to me, and I have to resort to cheap ball to win, or, at least try to win.

All star is where it's at for me

                          Re: Game variety on Superstar/Sim

I'm of two minds about Superstar/Sim.

One one hand I really like the challenge -- SS requires me to play a really good game across all categories if I want to ensure my best chance to win. Dumb passes/turnovers/bad shots/poor defense will get me beat every time. I find all teams challenging, even the bad ones, and no lead is safe, which I feel is very NBA -- teams come back all the time in the pros (admittedly not every game) and guys get tired/get hot quarter by quarter. If I play well and am mentally on my game, I have a good shot of winning.

On the other hand, the margin for error on SS is small; if I'm bad in a particular way, the CPU takes advantage of me and I have to make adjustments and hope my personnel can pull it off -- feels very real to life, but its also frustrating sometimes when you play a possession just so perfectly, but still get denied a defensive stop because a star gets their hands on the ball at the end of the shot clock, chucks it up, and hits. This doesn't happen often, but it happens more than I'd like. Offensive rebounding is near impossible to do as a human being, I've given up on it -- I get position, but the ball seems to bounce away from me every time. Transition defense is optional half the time, AI teammates are too slow to recognize backdoor passes and, frequently, my bigs get stuck underneath the hoop, then allow the opposing bigs to get right to the rim for a score.

Overall, I feel like SS is the best experience -- All-Star is just too damned easy for me and makes it unsatisfying to play. I'm better than I was last week at SS, where I consistently got blown out in the double-digits by the CPU in losses. Now I'm competitive in most games, even ones against loaded teams like the Thunder or Rockets, and if I play my best game I can win those. Offensively I find it tough to shoot, but it's never been my strong suit -- I'm a inside-out player, get my bigs going, feed the post, then kick it out. My shooters aren't exactly the best or most consistent, I've got a rookie starter at SF who can only dunk (and that's when he's in transition, don't dare take him into the teeth of the defense because he coughs up the rock EVERY TIME), and my SG is Ray Allen (who's good for 20 minutes and then gets tired, fast).

My user-record isn't pretty -- 3 and 8 I think -- and some games I'm just mentally dumb; bad pass (damned pass button, never used, ever), poor shot choice, or just sloppy ball handling on a break. SS makes you play aware of everything you do and, if you mess up, you better be prepared to pay for it because the CPU will take it at you, just like a real person would.

I wish the offensive rebounding and transition defense was better -- both feel like non-factors for the human far too many times -- but I've found that if I stick to my gameplan, work my pick and roll, and don't toss up panic threes, I can usually climb back into the game (I was down by 18 to the Thunder in the 3rd quarter, stuck with gameplan and stormed back in the 4th). Like a real NBA game, if you play your game, your pace, your rhythm and don't let the opponent dictate the terms, you'll have your opportunities. It's a learning process and losing sucks -- we all know this -- but even Jordan had to lose to learn to be a champion.

                            Game variety on Superstar/Sim

I've been playing with both the Clippers and Blazers in SS sim.

Every game has been close, with the exception of the Cavs blowing me out when I was the Blazers, that's to be expected. Lebron is just unreal. Multiple threes in a row is a very rare occurrence. Sometimes it feels like both offenses (mine and cpu) are unstoppable and then I check percentages and they're just a tad high (48-52%). Scores are high with both Clippers and Blazers as the pace I have to run at to defeat the CPU is very high. (Seeing between 90-100 shots a game, partly because turnovers are low in out the box settings)

Loving the game and have to really focus to get stops, which is good. I've played the Suns like three times between Clips and Blazers and Brandon Knight murders me. Hate giving up layups after free throw situations though and getting multiple stops in a row is tough, numerous times I've been up 7-10 and the CPU makes a nice run. I think if I can really focus and lock down when I get that 7-10 point lead I can turn some games into blow outs.

One pet peeve I'm seeing and it's making it slightly cheesy on offense for me but it's all I have - the CPU will continually ICE Chris Paul on pick and rolls, now this has to be the dumbest strategy you can possibly implement against the Clippers, Blake and DJ roll free to the basket over and over and over again. The Kings did it and I smoked them on offense, the Suns did it and I racked up 26 assists with CP3 and didn't even realize until I checked the box score at the end of the game (it was a great game and I won on some Eric Bledsoe missed free throws and a Paul Pierce three).

On the flip side, the CPU lets Damian Lillard turn the corner on the pick and roll when they'd be much better off taking the ball out of his hands. Their saving grace when using this strategy with Dlil is that shooting off the dribble is very tough this year. Weird strategy by the CPU but I mean I'm ok with taking what the defense gives me and it's just what you have to do this year, read and react.
