After all this time of 2K being on top, the one thing I feel is still lacking is presentation and the actual mechanisms of the all star weekend events (dunk and 3pt). They tried the guitar hero thing for the dunk contest and that wasn't too great. Now it's the 2 button timing but it just doesn't work. I don't feel like I want to participate. Same with the 3, it's not there.
Then I was thinking on all the basketball games I've played over the years and if ANYBODY has ever gotten it right and I went back to the Live 05 years.
For its time, everything from presentation (each player, the lights, the judges, commentary) to the actual mechanisms to perform a dunk feel right. And it feels like you have so much more control as to what you're doing.
It was also its own game mode. You wanted to play your friends in this mode just to show off the dunks. 2K could implement this into online play too.
Can't 2K do something similar to this?
