Guess 2K just threw that in without redoing it for 2K16

Re: Steve Kerr still doing commentary in 2K16
Is it anywhere else other than the dunk contest tho? Like in an actual game?

Re: Steve Kerr still doing commentary in 2K16
Is it still the Guitar Hero format?
2K's been making moves in a lot of other facets of their game so I haven't had much of a problem back-burnering this aspect of the game, but I've historically been a big believer in video game dunk contests. I think there could be a lot of appeal and draw for an All-Star mode done correctly. Unfortunately, 2K kind of killed this thing with their inexplicable controls change a few years ago.
I've got a dunk contest wishlist floating around here somewhere, I'll have to dig it up at some point.Comment

Re: Steve Kerr still doing commentary in 2K16
The all-star weekend festivities in MyCareer must be the last priority for 2K or something, they always get the least love and oftentimes identical glitches from years past stay in there 2, 3 years
But seriously, Steve Kerr still commentating? That's a blatant copy/paste jobComment

He's still one of the commentators in the 3 point contest too. The whole all star weekend needs to be rehauled.

I actually don't mind it. Honestly, I like it! I just realized he was still in today and it sounds fine. It's allstar weekend and he's doing commentary for the 3 point shootout and dunk contest. Even as a coach he could do that. He's a natural for the 3 point contest considering he won it before.Comment

Yes it is, and it still has a ton of input lag which is like there worst thing ever where the only thing you have to do is press a button at a certain time.Is it still the Guitar Hero format?

I understand why it was copy pasted because not everything can be brand new when you're forced to deliver a game every 12 months. That's why most of the menus are the same as well.
They could at least make the dunk contest mechanically playable though.Comment

Re: Steve Kerr still doing commentary in 2K16
I agree the AS Weekend needs redone since it's old and stale, but I personally don't mind having Kerr in there as an announcer. They have guest commentators all the time on AS weekend.
Perhaps they'll have an overhauled version of the mode out around AS Weekend this year. That'd be a pretty cool thing to do."Baseball is the coolest sport because, at any moment, the catcher can stop the game and go tell the pitcher a secret" - Rob FeeComment

Re: Steve Kerr still doing commentary in 2K16
The best All-Star Weekend I can remember playing in a basketball video game was in NBA Live 2005. It was SO much fun. Maybe that's because I was just a little kid, but I remember the presentation and everything being way better. Ernie Johnson and Kenny Smith did the commentary, the controls were a little clunky, but you actually had more control over what your guy was doing (no stupid guitar hero crap) and the arena would go NUTS! People would jump up on the sidelines and react like they do during the real dunk contest. On top of all that it was a playable mode that you could hop into at any time. NBA Live 2005's All-Star Weekend is way better than NBA 2K16's. That's saying something.

EDIT: I'm watching that video I posted for nostalgia purposes and they even have legends as the judges... 2K, step it up a bit next year. You can't let an 11 year old game blow you out like that.Last edited by Equinox831; 10-05-2015, 11:48 PM.Chicago Bulls | Chicago Bears | Chicago White Sox | Chicago BlackhawksComment
