I fail to see where that's 2K's fault. You hate the Tier system... because your fellow online players are choosing better teams to play with? I'm just not getting that complaint; they at least tried to do something to get people to use different teams. Perhaps the system needs to be tweaked to encourage/give more incentive to playing with lower Tier teams, but I don't see how it should be hated on. I get tired of seeing online gamers blame the game more than the people they're playing against.

If someone picks the Cavs, I'd pick the Kings, if someone picked the Warriors I'll pick the Bucks. When I pick the Magic or Pistons I'm not given the chance to adjust what team I want to use. They eliminated the option for me to pick which team I want to use to matchup with my opponent, how is that not the game designs fault? So because I decide to use the Pistons I should get a murderers row of matchups vs the Warriors and Cavs over and over again?

Or are you going to suggest that I shouldn't use my favorite team? If there was a penalty (losing 2 games) for using the Tier 1 teams you'd see more variety in what teams are used, but since there is none it's just non-stop game of Vs. Cavs, Warriors, Rockets, Spurs.

I'm not an online player and I don't want to sidetrack the thread; I just thought it odd you're blaming the game for who your fellow online players choose to play with. I'm not an online gamer, so I get put off at times seeing online players blaming the game for what other online players are willing to do to win.

The last few games have been a chore to get through with all the missed layups, the bad passes outta nowhere, dudes just losing the ball, all the while the other team slaughters me inside.

I don't mind getting bodied because most of the time Its all my fault. This game forces you to be on your game at all times. No possesions taken off. That is great and keeps the game exciting. It also feels cheap tho. Because once the tide is against you, you will just lose. It feels scripted at times to see the cpu get all the breaks bounce wise. I go for a layup and it bounces all around the rim, the cpu does it and it rolls in. Once in a while thats cool but it begins to feel like the CPU simply knows how to trigger specific animation whereas you are that the mercy of the game. It feels like it is completely random when you do manage to get to the paint if you will make it or not or if you will go into a get bocked animations..

I'm going to stick it out, adjust some sliders and see what sticks but idk there seems to be some rubberbanding at work at times. Also the animation priority still sucks, far too often you are just pulled out of plays by animations.

You don't play online so why bother commenting on it? If you did play online you'd understand how annoying it is to pick a Tier 3 team expecting to play a Tier 2 or 3 team and then not have an option to change that team after you see your opponent is using the Dream Team. I'm blaming the game for matching me with the Spurs when I pick the Magic lol, the game decided that's a good matchup, not me.

If you did play online you'd understand how annoying it is to pick a Tier 3 team expecting to play a Tier 2 or 3 team and then not have an option to change that team after you see your opponent is using the Dream Team. I'm blaming the game for matching me with the Spurs when I pick the Magic lol, the game decided that's a good matchup, not me.

Yes, this is plain stupid in my book, and just to add, they must put in the option to change the jersey and to see what opponent is using, as people chose team, they don't even know if they are Home or Away team UNTIL they advance in the next step of mathcmaking, where they CAN'T GO BACK from that to change they jersey if they by accident changed to away or alternate one.
Just to point out what I'm trying to say, I played as Miami Heat in red away jerseys, against Chicago Bulls, who also were in red jerseys..

I'm not having as many matching issues as you guys. My last few games I was matched up with Boston and Minnesota. I've also faced a plethora of other mid-tier teams (no low-tier yet though). Granted I've played the Warriors twice, Cavs once, OKC once, Rockets twice.

I only use Milwaukee and the Jazz, I'm 14-2. The only team that I was frustrated playing is the Cavs. For some reason JR Smith, Varejao, etc. are complete lock down defenders. Shumpert and JR are both deadly shooters with amazing handles, it's like having 3 Kyrie Irvings featuring LeBron. Watching Shumpert hit 3 after 3 (contested or not) was frustrating.. What was worse is that the guy I was playing wasn't very good but he didn't have to do much to win, that team is just a dominant all-2k team.

Wait until you play in the higher levels against the Rockets or Cavs, Harden and LeBron make the game unbearable at times. There's no fatigue and you get guys holding sprint the entire game just running up and down the floor, the transition defense is horrible so those guys end up going nuts. The higher the levels you go the thicker the cheese gets and the more proficient people get at abusing the games problems.

I think the idea is that you want variety. 2k Online has been plagued by a decade of people picking the Lakers, Boston, Miami/Cleveland, OKC, and this year it will be the Warriors/Rockets.

When I play with friends we try to go for interesting matchups, and this year you can use lots of teams stylistically that normally you would've never used in years past. I'm completely dominant with the Jazz and they're a tier 2 team with an offensive ranking of a tier 3 team (24). I've enjoyed the hell out of playing with some different teams (not your normal top 3-4 teams). I used the Hawks vs my friend and they're a ton of fun, but you bet your *** only a small % will use them despite the fact they're a top tier team (no household names on the squad ala LeBron).

I totally see his point that people would like variety. I'm not sure whether his matchmaking problems are exclusive to him or not. In my past 3 games of picking the Jazz (Junior varsity level difficulty at the moment), I've faced the Celtics - Timberwolves - Suns in that order. It's getting better for me with the types of teams I'm facing, and I've only seen one Cleveland user so far.

Abuc didn't state how far up he is in the ladder, but he claims that its worse the higher you go and you get more people cheesing with Cleveland (that remains to be seen as far as others' experiences). Nevertheless, history tends to repeat itself, and I'd much rather see people using various teams. If I'm using tier 2, I'd like the percentage of facing tier 3 and tier 2 teams to be higher than tier 1 teams (I don't agree with penalizing people losses for using tier 1, but maybe a system where within the 10 games you play in ladder you can only use a top 3 team a few times would be more fun - however it would be frustrating for home team fans of those top franchises).

So is that how it works?... That's awesome!! I was wondering why I haven't seen anyone using the top teams you mentioned. Now it makes sense why I haven't seen those tops. I've only seen Houston and Clippers once each. And like I said in my other post. The guy took 40 shots with Harden. I've been only using the Kings and the Jazz.

That is nothing.... lol..... I played a guy who had the same team I did (Kings). But not only that.... But we both had our home jersey on. The guy didn't want to quit lol
