Found a Solution for the Magnetic Defense

I found the solution to the bumping issue.

When you are making a dribble move, hold the LS to one direction, make the RS dribble move but don't point the LS in the direction you actually want to go until AFTER the move is completed. I have been blowing by weaker defenders with ease now.

My guess is that, like I was, many of you are moving the LS as you make your move with the RS. This is probably registering with the CPU and it is reacting before the RS move plays out. Moving the LS afterwards eliminates the cpu psychic powers from my experience.

Let me know if it works for you like it does for me.

thank you for this. Seriously. It really works. I've been wondering why I could never cross any defender.

All good Clutch! Been away for a while getting my basketball training business started but I have more time to get into OS and on the sticks these days.

Found a Solution for the Magnetic Defense

          Good post Sov,

This is what a lot of us were trying to explain originally but it was being misconstrued as "get better"

You should post this in the "NBA 2K16 Teach Me How/Strategy Thread "

Thanks! Will try tonight. Specific instruction like this is what's needed.
Shout out to The Watcher! Where you at bruh?

I haven't really gotten this down yet, but if someone could do a video tutorial/demonstration, that would be great.

This is a point i've brought up on here about why i hate that 2k didnt take a page out of nba elite and get rid of dribbling moves on the left stick. it messes with how you would naturally feel a dribble move should work.

if my guy is standing still dribbling. and the ball is in his right hand, and i push the LS to the left, my guy does a simple crossover. i dont want that. i dont want any cross at all in that scenario. i want the ball to remain in his right hand while i go left(yes this will expose the ball making me susceptible to more steals. fine by me. this is where true stick skills would come in handy, as well as high bball iq while dribbling. now you have to THINK about moving the ball to the opposite hand to protect it. thinking about this while on the move makes you less likely to concentrate 100% on your shot when you get ready to pull up. this is how and why guys start bricking shots in real life. too much to concentrate on so something gets put to the back burner and thats when they miss shots and make bad passes. this is how you simulate real basketball.

Yep, this is how you do it. If you notice, when you wait right when you're about to cross to move the left stick for the actual cross-over--he will also do it faster.

                    Very good tip OP.

Thing is the LS motions weren't anywhere as heavy last year....they added it back for some reason....

They added an iso fatigue. If you hold the ball and don't get around the defender after about 3 attempts at a size-up/crossover, he gets sluggish.

hold the LS to one direction, make the RS dribble move. is this a simultaneous move LS+RS or is it a LS, then RS? Is the LS engaged troughout the process or is it coming back to neutral when when you go to the desired direction?
