Just little things. We all have seen threads bloom into "it doesn't matter because the AI is terrible," I'd be grateful if the same didn't happen in this one. Remember, the devs have their own agenda and their own priorities of things to add and things to fix. Yes, I know it's tough to think that this thread can do anything. But, the same can be said for any thread.

I'd love to see a direct comparison of Trade Values in the trade screen. Currently, it's a spitball guess. A direct, one above the other (or something) comparison would really help.

* Bring back snippets of National Anthems
* Allow to control a player and do some sort or warm up drill (offline only)

Love to see goalie lost/broken sticks.

I play with broken sticks slider up at 4 I think. If a real NHL game, those sticks break all the time. I find that there is nothing more intense than a broken stick in the dzone, and it is awesome you can get a forwards stick, or just play wiithout until a clear.

Now, add goalies losing it too (would need a different slider though as it it not very often, but often enough to be aware of). AI or human crashes your goalie, great desperation save, but yard sale, stick goes flying......... my goalie's on ice save rating drops, do I, clear with my stick, or do I, give my stick to my goalie?

That would be awesome.

I'd like to see the cpu dump the puck into the zone for line changes and strategy and also more cycling for board play.

realistic contract negotiations, instead of making a repeated (or one-time) guesses at how much you have to pay

I'd like to be able to change height, weight, handedness, default jersey number and any generic heads when editing a player.

- Different animations for goals against reactions (less stiff-looking bending down) and post-whistle idle time (show players talking with one another and so on).

Having an actual time-out where you get to choose from 2-3 different plays to try to execute.

The ability to choose to shoot first or second for a shoot-out.

More variations of penalties from the CPU. Never seen a penalty for anything other than tripping and high sticking.

Take away the CPU's ability to suck me into board play whenever they want. I swear I'll be 4-5 past them and I get stopped dead.

The ability to maybe win some board plays.

Lower the CPU's reaction time to something more human like.

Have the CPU's shot attempts actually go in the direction they're facing not 6 inches off the stick then it angles to the net.

I'd like to see the cpu players dribble the puck in the air on their stick when the whistle is called before they give the puck to the ref.

I'd like to check players hard into the boards/ride them up into the boards and have the boards rattling based on the impact of the hit

I'd love a more risk/reward skating system that could run the risk of players wiping out or losing their footing if they try to cut or change directions to quickly or too sharply

I'd love to see more dirty scrumming and jostling for puck possession and positioning between players in front of the goalie in the offensive zone

First game of BeaGM and they talked about a player on my Blues playing in his first game.. then they show Colton Parayko skating around pregame and show a pop up saying how he was excited to play or something like that.

WE NEED MORE OF THAT STUFF EA!!! Would love to see scores from around the league during intermission. Bring back the screen while the game is loading that shows the scratches and injured players. Bring back the 3 stars on the ice.

Yeah this was still in couple of years ago, then they left it out...used it all the time!

I also wish they would fix AI forward behaviour when going to the net - those annoying moments when you pass across the crease and they go past the back post and still shoot that one-timer to the boards, basically. Just does not make any sense.

Different skating and playing styles, so different players will look and behave differently.

It would benefit goalies the most, but even regular skaters would see an improvement. Watching a guy like Ovechkin charge around would look very different from a guy like Datsyuk.

Definitely agreed. Guys like McDavid scoring their first goal at home should be huge (Maybe something where the higher a player's potential is for their first rookie goal, the higher the volume. Watching how Tarasenko's first goal was in his first game in St. Louis, the crowd nearly blew the roof off of the building. Just little things to help make the crowd seem more alive. Same for context in the game itself. If a team clenches at home (especially if they haven't been to the playoffs in a while) the crowd should be going insane for every goal, and even more nuts for the game winner. Places like Montreal are always easy to tell apart from somewhere like St. Louis because as soon as that puck crosses center ice and starts heading towards the net, their crowd is going nuts. St. Louis on the other hand tends to be a bit quieter of an arena, until some offensive pressure builds up and grows.

Similarly, players hitting milestones should get some in-game recognition on the jumbo tron, and maybe a little clip of them waving to the fans and getting handed the puck. Maybe show when a rookie scores their first goal they happily celebrate with their entire team, then it could cut to a clip of them on the bench with everyone patting their helmet (or in Parayko's case, getting a nasty glove in the face).
