Yellow card frequency
Is it me or does it seem like there are an awful lot of yellow cards being issued to the user compared to the cpu. Even if I get taken down in the box the cpu almost never gets a card. It feels like no matter how hard my challenge is I'm almost always guaranteed a yellow card. Maybe I'm just bad haha.Tags: None -

Re: Yellow card frequency
You've to define awful lot. How many yellow cards do you get per game (average)?

Re: Yellow card frequency
There are usually more fouls on the player because its natural for us to go aggressively for the ball at all times on defense. The cpu isn't so aggressive

Re: Yellow card frequency
I get plenty of cards on the CPU. I average two a game I'd say. Hell in my last two games the CPU got red cards. And a couple games before that we each had two payers sent off on double yellows. I've never had an issue in this years with the CPU getting cards. It might be a difficulty thing, or a slider settings, I'm not sure. But the CPU does crazy reckless tackles on me all the damn time. From behind slides, in the box slides, two feet with cleats out. They are just as reckless if not more than myself in most games.

Re: Yellow card frequency
I tend to slide in and foul out of frustration, which the CPU doesn't really do. They typically go in and get the ball. I find slide tackling on the user side to be completely useless and underpowered this year (except to strategically cut off space way out in front of an attacker, which isn't how players use it irl), but perhaps that is a different discussion.Comment

Re: Yellow card frequency
Push LT/L2 when they go for the bad tackles. I draw many fouls this way. I rarely slide tackle so I don't get many yellows. Usually for pulling the jersey from behind too much .Comment

Do the defensive drills. Slide tackling is useful and very powerful with player with a a good slide tackle rating. You are probably trying to make tackles with offensive players who have tackle ratings under 60 and or just not positioning properly.Comment

Re: Yellow card frequency
I'm getting a LOT of yellow cards aswell, by just fighting for an air ball, lights shoves in the midfield... ridiculous. I always end my games with an average of 6 yellow cards, which honestly, only 1-2 of them are legitimate deserved.
I was wondering if you can set a less rigid referee for career mode?Comment

Re: Yellow card frequency
I'm playing a EPL career, so maybe "real" refs make a difference, but I've actually found the refs to be too lenient. I can commit a professional foul (up to and including intentionally pulling a guy down from behind) and not get a card for it. It seems like only badly timed slides and very late hard fouls are getting cards.Impact de Montréal

Re: Yellow card frequency
I think the fouls are pretty fair in this years game. I think I see maybe 3-4 cards per game on WC 8 minute halves. I also see a fair amount of free kicks and penalties but I also hold L2 when things get congested around the box because I'll take my chances with a short Calhanoglu FK over trying to pass through the defense anyday.Comment

Re: Yellow card frequency
Well, probably the issue is, that the AI doesn't have to tackle at all in many cases, he just runs into you and takes the ball, which rarely counts as a foul. But I also have the impression that the AI gets fewer yellow cards overall, especially for obviously dangerous sliding tackles.Comment

Re: Yellow card frequency
When a player commits 2 fouls the 3rd one no matter the intensity of the foul will be a yellow card. Sometimes it can happen with the second foul if it's quite close in time with the first one he already commited earlier. After 10 fouls in total every fouls is almost instantly a yellow card. It's in the gameplay coding. Also after many fouls from both teams there's an animation where the ref tells the players to calm down.Comment
