...and now that this is out the way, here's some actual context:
Sarkisian taking forced leave of absence.
I sincerely hope Sark gets a handle on things and is able to straighten everything out.Originally posted by Bruce Feldman @BruceFeldmanCFBAm told by multiple sources Steve Sarkisian showed up in no condition to work today & #USC brass knows he needs serious help.Last edited by Watson; 10-11-2015, 05:13 PM.And may thy spirit live in us, Forever LSU

Re: 2015-2016 Coaching Carousel Thread
Interesting list of the top coaching candidates at this point. I'm ignoring the fact that it's Maryland as they don't have the clout to pull some of these guys from where they currently are at, but for programs looking for new coaching this year, this is a pretty solid list.
Golf: Bubba
MLB: Braves
Nascar: Smoke
NBA: Heat
NCAA: Florida & Miss State
NFL: Whichever team currently has the most of my favorite college players
NHL: Caps
Tennis: The Joker & Sloane Stevens
WWE: Dean Ambrose
Misc: Anybody wearing a Team USA jerseyComment

Re: 2015-2016 Coaching Carousel Thread
If they truly want to help him, they would fire him immediately with cause and take some of the money that buying him out would have cost and offer him treatment at a top-of-the-line rehab center. Creating a true rock bottom is better than continuing to enable, which is what has been happening since his days at Washington according to reports now coming out about his days there....and now that this is out the way, here's some actual context:

He's had his chance after the public incident at the fundraiser. Now he's showing up drunk around his players, who he's supposed to be in charge of discipline for. Nope, can't have that.Comment

Re: 2015-2016 Coaching Carousel Thread
It may have something to do with insurance and laws. It is hard to fire people, specially if they have some mental or emotional problems. You have to first offer them help and then firing options become available.

Re: 2015-2016 Coaching Carousel Thread
This. I was reading that especially in California, since it is related to what could be qualified as a 'disability' (stretch, but you know how lawyers and insurance are), that it puts USC in a difficult spot.

Yeah, I've read up on that now too. Seems counter-intuitive for addiction type situations, but whatever. He's coached his last game for USC.Comment

Re: 2015-2016 Coaching Carousel Thread
Absolutely. He handled it as badly as somebody could possible handle it.
Forcing him to take a leave of absence is one thing. Firing him after that is horrible for somebody who needs help. And it's probably the worst thing that you can do to somebody in the situation. Thank Christ Sark has already been checked into to rehab. And may thy spirit live in us, Forever LSU
