I agree with Bryan. You can do a 2-deep for coordinators but doing a full depth chart for every cac will be a lot of work for you. Of course if you want to, a full write up would be awesome. But I'd be happy with a paragraph or 2, maybe highlighting key contributors from last year, including the ones that team lost. As well as any newcomers that we should watch for, or you think the team is going to lean on

For the sliders, that's the same set I've been using. The games play really well for me, but the overall stats across the league just don't add up like I'd like them to

Hey Guru, I don't understand clearly how the NCAA works so usually I'm not quite interested in CFB dynasties, but yours is ridiculously good. I read every single post of it and man the amount of details you provide is INSANE. Just wanted to give ya my congratulations on passing the 50k views mark, you deserve it a lot. I'll be following from now on for sure.

Freshman LB Kyle Lee transferring to Temple

Freshman linebacker Kyle Lee has officially been released from his scholarship and will transfer to Temple, according to Coach Diaco and the Hartford Courant.

The Connecticut native redshirted in 2018 and Coach Diaco had high expectations for Lee moving forward.

This isn't a huge loss, however, as UConn has numerous young linebackers who will be playing next season.

        ----------------------------

        Hamilton accepted into Old Dominion

New Old Dominion coach Doug Meacham, former offensive coordinator at TCU, has announced that he has accepted dismissed UConn quarterback David Hamilton into the program.

Hamilton was dismissed in December after his second violation of UConn's strict policy on drinking and a DUI. He will have to sit out 2019, but will be eligible to play in 2020.

In starting five of the first six games for UConn in 2018, Hamilton threw for 602 yards with 3 TD's and 4 INT's before separating his shoulder in the Oklahoma State game, ending his season.

Old Dominion QB Drew Barker threw for over 4000 yards and 58 TD's a year ago, and with an offense even more pass-oriented under Meacham, Hamilton should have some success. We wish him the best in Norfolk.

Thanks for the input guys. I spent some time writing up depth charts for about half the CAC's last night, hopefully I can finish up tonight and get this posted some time soon.

This is one of these posts I'd like to frame on my wall. Thank you very much for the kind words bud. I take extreme pride in the detail and statistics that tie this project together (statistics are your friends!), so that is the best compliment anyone can give me.

College 'ball is indeed a lot harder to understand than the NFL, but hopefully from reading this you have a bit of a better grasp on the sport. Really glad you are enjoying this vinaa!

UConn sets up Big Ten Heritage Tour

Huskies to play various Big Ten teams on the road; Ohio State and Indiana in 2019

UConn A.D. Warde Manuel has announced he has organized a "Big 10 Heritage Tour", in which UConn's football team will travel to play at least six Big Ten teams on the road over the next few seasons. The slate begins this fall with trips to the 'Shoe to face Ohio State and Bloomington to face Indiana. (Note: Indiana has been scheduled since the beginning of this dynasty. NOTE 2: The last time UConn faced Indiana (I believe) was in 2003 when some young man named Terry Caulley asserted his presence...).

In 2020, UConn will hit the road to go to the Big House to face Michigan (Manuel's alma mater) and face Illinois to wrap up a home and home that starts in 2019. In 2021 UConn will head up to East Lansing to play Michigan State and Beaver Stadium to play Penn State. A fourth season is still up in the air, but Wisconsin and Iowa would likely be the next in line.

While you could perceive this is just a plot to get extra money for going on the road, Coach Diaco and Manuel both agree that the extra challenge is good for the program.

UConn is scheduled to complete the first leg of the Big Ten tour, and play Tennessee and Illinois at home for out of conference action this year.

Drew Barker 58 TDs?! Being from Kentucky and not living too far from where he went to HS that's fun to see! Must have been killing it.

You guys did really well after about Week 6. I think you won something like 7 of your last 8...it's too bad you lose the nation's leading rusher though.

Oddly, I've had weirder losses. I recall a time in an old online dynasty I was up by 5 against a CPU team with :04 to go, they abandoned their hail mary and went with a checkdown about 65 yards from paydirt. I tackled the tailback, but apparently his knee never touched (I never saw a replay of the sequence to confirm). Naturally, about nine of my eleven defenders came in from the deep coverage and were in on the "tackle", so the tailback gets up and jogs to the end zone for the win.

Not sure anything has ever topped that (aside from the time I blew a 28-0 lead and gave up a hail mary TD in the corner of the end zone for the loss), but I have a feeling if I keep at this dynasty we'll find something weirder.

Barker and ODU I think won all of their last nine or eight of nine or something like that. I believe their coordinator ran an air raid playbook, but I've never seen stats like he and Quintin Reynolds put up. (Oddly, Reynolds only broke one NCAA record from my research despite his crazy stats, and Barker only tied for the season TD record. It did, though take him one more game to reach that record than Colt Brennan, the other half of that record).

I'm trying to find time to begin the coaching carousel and really get the offseason moving. I have everything typed up, I just need some damn time!

I feel you on the time thing. With work full-time and college full time it is hard to have a life. That's the reason why I didn't keep continuing my dynasty (that and my brother corrupted my PS3, much more fun playing on my own though now that I just play whenever).

I think to myself sometimes "this is going to get better it's all worth it," then I remember I'm going into teaching and coaching so it'll start all over again! Lol

Also I beat Alabama for the first time on this game the other day and it. Was. So. Satisfying. I've had this game since the spring of 2014 I think. I've had the worst luck against Alabama. I always either choke or they go superhuman. The worst losses ever were in my Kentucky dynasty. Down 4 on their 3 yard line I throw a ball into the corner of the endzone to a wide open receiver who lets it hit off his helmet and it bounced into the hands of a LB 5 yards away who Bo Jackson tecmo bowls his way to the end zone.

Good luck with your teaching dream! The nation is always is need of more teachers, so best of luck. In fact we have a new opening at our school...... hmmm.......

I've had the game since the beginning, ran myself crazy with ultimate team for a long time and finally started playing with some dynasties in February '14. I actually have had some troubles with 'Bama as well. Though in my very first dynasty on here I upset 'Bama year one with Kentucky. No less, my QB that day started his first career game. Year two I won something like 41-7. But every other time I've had some tough luck. I recall one time in an online dynasty someone set me up against 'Bama while I was playing with BC. I ended up losing in overtime despite running cheese plays because I knew I was so overmatched talent-wise LOL.

I actually feel inclined to flip back through that old dynasty now...

While 'Bama has struggled in this dynasty and Saban retired with Blake Anderson as the new coach, I would still like to play them at some point in this 'chise. I think I have two more seasons keeping up with UConn's real out of conference scheduling before I'm free to pick any teams I want (and I'll likely defer off to you guys). So stay tuned for that.

UAB receives $10 million donation, fires Watts, saves football program

After two seasons worth of rumors that UAB was shuttering their football program, an anonymous donor gave the school $10 million on one condition: Save the football program.

Not only did that happen, but university president Ray Watts was dismissed after a poll showed zero confidence in Watts. He has been replaced by former UAB coach Bill Clark.

UAB was under pressure to shut down when it was revealed they were not turning a profit and diverting funds from the University of Alabama and their athletic department. Further investigation will go into if they were actually at a deficit or not.

The majority of the donation will go toward renovations of Legion Field, and toward the school's scholarship funds.

In retaining the football program, UAB will keep head coach Larry Leonard on and hire a young offensive coordinator from Arkansas in Spanky Westside (CAC ALERT!!!!!!!! @Trevor3_2009!!!!!!!).

UAB finished 1-11 a year ago.

Fans of the Blazers held a rally thanking coach Leonard and the other higher ups for their persistence in saving the program, and the response has been nothing but positive. Season tickets are expected to sell out for the 2019 season.

Wooooo! Every school needs a football program imo. Thank the football gods for rich uncle Rico and his donations. And welcome coach Spanky into the ranks of the CAC (not-so) elites!

After seven seasons in Storrs/East Hartford, UConn athletic director Warde Manuel is going home.

Manuel released a statement today announcing his resignation from the position at UConn and that he had struck a deal to hold the same position at his alma mater, Michigan.

Manuel's decision comes after the announced resignation of Michigan A.D. Dave Brandon in October 2018. Manuel had been rumored as the top candidate for the position since the beginning of the search. His contract is scheduled to be for five years, $8 million.

At UConn, Manuel will be best known as the man responsible for hiring Bob Diaco as football coach in December 2013, who has, in just five years, led the team to a national title, a pair of AAC titles and a move to the Big 12. Manuel also doubled UConn's athletic department's profit, and has overseen three trips by the men's basketball team to the Final Four, and five trips from the women's team.

Manuel gave thanks for his time at UConn in his resignation letter.

I feel this is the right time to go home, and I'm at peace with my decision to do so. I wish the best to UConn moving forward and the best of luck in finding my successor.
Coach Diaco spoke out, thanking Manuel.

After four consecutive bowl appearances, Michigan fell to 5-7 in 2018 under Hoke. Should Hoke remain as coach into 2019, he is widely considered in a make or break season for his job and Diaco has indicated if Manuel ever left, he would strongly consider following under the right circumstances. However, Diaco has committed to staying at UConn through 2019.

UConn's football team is slated to play Michigan at the Big House in the fall of 2020.

While UConn has not released an official wish list of potential replacements, Bryant University A.D. Bill Smith and George Mason A.D. Brad Edwards figure to be favorites. Sacred Heart A.D. Bobby Valentine is also a rumored candidate, as is Cigna CEO David Cordani. An official announcement is expected to come at some point in the month of February.

Coach Diaco has volunteered to take over A.D. duties in the interim, though it is unknown if he has been allowed to do so.

Haha. I love the comment even more because you found a way to use the name Rico. LOL.

I almost was going to go into the editor and rename UAB with Tennessee State, but luckily I decided against it. Coach Spanky, while being in an arms race with Equanimeous St. Brown Sr. for the best CAC name, also has an extreme uphill climb at UAB. But here's to getting a job!

Our other four CAC's will learn their destinations soon.

UConn just announced that BC is on the schedule for 2016, 2017, 2022, and 2023, with UMass on tap for 2018-2021. I think you know what you must do. #ScheduleOurLongLostRivals

I saw that also. It's good we get someone on the schedule now to avoid the New Mexico State/Howard fiasco again.

I've been kind of out of it watching college 'ball the past 4 weeks as I've been out of town and just too busy, but I think it's OK because both my teams flat out suck. (Though BC did lose our star RB and starting QB to long-term injury, so not entirely their fault).

However, I have been quietly following UConn (cardinal sin of a BC fan) as a result of doing this and recognizing every name from the early seasons (and Tyraiq Beals). I must say, I'm impressed. I thought you were guys were another year away like BC.

Keep in mind, I said a while back that if you guys didn't beat USF in the East standings, I quit the dynasty. That offer may still stand. *(Pressure!!!!!!)*

                                ----------------

In game, I scheduled UMass back in season 3 (2016, game here, I think for the sole reason of replacing Maine with an FBS team. Though we are already into 2019 here and my schedule has been set out of conference for the next two seasons, I can schedule them in after 2020.

With BC, I set up the game at Gillette last season, but as it turns out I didn't end up scheduling a second game. This means I can easily set them up for 2022 and 2023 if we're still going at that point.

Just for reference, here's what I'm thinking for an out of conference schedule moving forward:

2019: (Set in stone based on previous arrangements)
                                @ Ohio St. - B1G Heritage
                                @ Indiana - B1G Heritage
                                vs. Illinois
                                vs./@ Tennessee (Can't remember where)

2020: (Set in stone based on previous arrangements)
                                @ Michigan - B1G Heritage
                                @ Illinois - B1G Heritage
                                vs. Indiana
vs. Tennessee (based off where 2019 game is)

                                2021:
                                @ Michigan St. - B1G Heritage
                                @ Penn St. - B1G Heritage
                                vs./@ UMass
vs. UAB? Hawai'i? - Open Slot

                                2022:
                                @ Iowa? - B1G Heritage
                                @ Wisconsin? - B1G Heritage
                                vs./@ UMass
                                vs./@ Boston College

                                2023:
                                vs./@ Boston College
                                vs/@ UMass?
                                ?
                                ?

I'd like to talk to some users to get some ideas later on, but we'll see what happens.
