    SF in the park

Pretty useless. Too slow to stay with guards, too small for the centers and cant shoot

What type of SF did you create?

I would personally build a Rudy Gay and use his jumper but SF is no my craft, I'm more crafty as a G.

        Re: SF in the park

I see more SFs in the park than I do PFs. I've NEVER seen a PF in the park or on pro am.

I feel SFs with maxed athleticism and scoring (both outside and inside) can be offensive beasts but you might struggle on D, especially if you use upgrades on rebounding.

A SF (any type tbh) with level 20 athleticism/inside scoring/jump shooting with 15 on defense (or 10 on defense and 5 on rebounding/playmaking if you care) would be good. I've ran into some good SFs in the park.

My PG is level 20 Athleticism/Defense and level 15 jump shooting and level 10 play making and I do pretty well

We ran a PG, SF, C lineup in the park last night and it worked pretty well. Probably one of the easiest 20 game win streaks I've went on in a while. SF's did take a huge hit this year with the attribute caps but I know a select few who still get busy with them.

You're looking at it wrong. Small forwards are too big for guards and too fast for centers.

When I make a sf, I want a taller build that plays d and can hit a shot.

So I tried like 3 different times but all of the max attributes were pretty garbage and I just felt way too slow.

IMO a 6'8 sg will do what a sf can do, quicker and better shooter....not as good at posting up or rebounding but post ups are so easy to get stripped and rebounding is more about positioning a lot of times.

Also on defense, your blocks lower but you still block a lot of shots..it's just how 16 is. But since you're a 2 you can move side to side a lot faster.
I don't wanna be Jordan, I don't wanna be Bird or Isiah, I don't wanna be any of those guys.
I want to look in the mirror and say I did it my way.

The SF in my squad sometimes plays stretch 4 so he values rebounding , blocking , low post defense , standing layup , post scoring , contact dunk , standing dunks etc... more

This is the exact combo my squad runs in the Park and we have very few issues. It works out really well. I'm a 6'8" SF and guard a lot of SG. Once we figure out how to limit getting beat and covering the open man it's a nice mis-match on the other end.

                    Re: SF in the park

6'7" all-around small forward. I'm not a great player, but I hold my own in the park against everything but the 7'3" centers.

I don't have a problem guarding 2-4, and I can stop most dribble-spamming point guards by playing angles and using length to bother their shots. Having post and perimeter lockdown badges helps a lot at neutralizing every opponent's badges.

On offense, corner specialist makes up for the relatively low 3 point shooting numbers from the all-around. If I could do it over, I would make my guy an outside scorer to add more consistency to the three point threat. In any case, I can get open in the midrange pretty much whenever I want and those shots are money.

I can occasionally post up guards with some success, but the ball control in the post is too low to make that a good gamble. I use spacing, backdoor cuts, and pick and pop to get most of my points in the park.

I almost never try to break down people off the dribble. That's a good way to get blocked or ripped. Move the ball and set a screen.

I actually wanted that when I made my sf.

I made a 6'10 inside sf at first...kind of a big mistake lol.

Anyways, wound up making a 6'8 outside pf, and he's faster and can shoot better than a sf can. Plus he's a much better low post defender and rebounder.

                        Re: SF in the park

I made a 6'10 SF for my pro am squad to play stretch 4. He's actually pretty sweet and my defense is good enough to stay with guards and I strip every big. It's like irl. LeBron doesn't body up Rose. He plays off and bodies up on the drive. If he gets beat he'll probably end up blocking him lol. That's exactly how I play.

Against 7'3 centers I have some trouble but if I box them out the rebound is mine 80% of the time. I think weight should effect speed but I can't be too mad at that. If you make a 6'7-6'8 SF just make a SG because you'll be able to guard SFs & guards. The game is kinda positionless. If you have the right build you can play multiple positions. Except with a center.

I run a 6´8 SF, 20 outside, 20 inside, 20 defense, 20 athleticism, 20 playmaking, and I love what the player can do:

                          - I dominate rebounds when playing a team full of PGs, SGs, SFs.
                          - I set many plays assisting an average of 4 times.
                          - I can defend my socks off and give a very bad time to my opponent. Inside, outside, ... Blocking an average of 2 times.
                          - When shooting open I´m money.
                          - I can create my own shot many times.
                          - I post when I need and I get points or draw fouls.
                          - I can slash inside for a layup/dunk and receive some contact with no problems.

All in all, very happy with the player if I do another player will be a Center but I can´t foresee that in the near future for the hard grind work.

I'm a PG now but when I was a SF I had fun. Got a good amount of points and 3-4 boards per game, prob 2-3 blocks per game.

He was an outside build, 90 3pt (boosted) and I was strictly a spot-up guy with the occasional fast break. Had tons of fun blocking people and running plays (EX: center sets a screen and I come running off it while my PG crashes leaving me wide open on a spot up shot) with my PG/Center, but now we run a G/G/C line up.
