Tough loss to the Aggies especially after the high of upsetting Oklahoma. Just a brutal schedule for you with Notre Dame being down and out. Loving your layout as always my friend!

Love the concept of this, I am a huge Notre Dame fan and seeing them not be that good is different but it is entertaining. Keep at it!

          Thank you for the post!

Yeah, the Oklahoma win was fun, but Texas A&M was rough. I am really liking the challenge from the schedule and the weakened team. I am getting a little anxious though for next season with my first batch of recruits. I have a bye week this week and I got a good offensive lineman commit, so I am working on a recruit profile post.

Yeah, I have been tinkering with the layout a bit and trying some helmet images I found. Just trying different things and keeping it fresh as I can't wait to get to the next season and hopefully an improved team haha

I am glad you are enjoying the dynasty thread.

I am a huge ND fan too and have tried this concept a couple times, but this is the first I am writing about and the first with so many restrictions. I am enjoying the restrictions especially playing on Coach Mode as it is making for realistic results I think. I may have to keep playing with the sliders though.

Week 7 2013 (Season 1) - Notre Dame Recruiting Update

The Irish have received two verbal commitments over the bye week.

              Recruiting Profile – Kyle McIntosh
              Kyle McIntosh | OT
Banneker Trojans, High School Senior, Union City, GA
              Height: 6'3" Caliber:
              Weight: 281 Considered: Wisconsin
Position Rank: 24 Overall Rank: 367
EVENT 40 YD BENCH SQUAT SPARQ
              High School Workout 4.90 455 640 57.00
              Scouting Report
The Irish staff are very excited about getting the verbal commitment from Kyle. He is a below the radar offensive lineman that specializes in run blocking. Playing for the Banneker Trojans in Union City, he was utilized to create running lanes for the Trojan running backs all season. He has good skills as a pass blocker as well that he showcased for scouts over the summer.

Kyle has good size for an offensive lineman, but could add on a few more pounds over his college career. Due to being below 300 lbs and from a smaller high school, he has flown under the radar for most Power Five teams. Kyle is very gifted in the classroom as well, earning a 3.8 GPA thus far. It is his academic interests that drew him to Notre Dame in the first place. He was also being recruited by Wisconsin, but has always had ND as his top school.
              Recruiting Profile – Jason Smith
              Jason Smith | MLB
DuPage Chaparrals, JUCO Sophomore, Galion, OH
              Height: 5'11" Caliber:
Weight: 236 Considered: UK, WVU, Ohio St, Michigan
Position Rank: 15 Overall Rank: 520
EVENT 40 YD BENCH SQUAT SPARQ
              JUCO Workout 4.52 420 705 64.00
              Scouting Report
Jason Smith's road to major college football took one extra year after his lack of scholarship opportunities coming out of high school. As a high school senior, Jason was only 5'9" and was considered too small to play linebacker at teh FBS level. Smith found a home at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellen, Illinois. There he had his last growth spurt and grew to 5'11" and bulked up in the weightroom non-stop with his goal of playing major college football in mind. His hard work and heart paid off by having the highest squat in the entire recruiting class at 705.

Re-entering the recruting cycle for the second time taller and stronger, Jason has had no shortage of scholaship offers. Notre Dame was one of five schools who offered Jason along with Kentucky, West Virginia, Ohio State, and Michigan. Jason has good speed for a linebacker and is a great tackler. The two areas that the Notre Dame coaches will have to work on with him are play recognition and pursuit. If he learns quickly, he could see early playing time next season.

Both Kyle and Jason look forward to getting on campus and competing for starting positions. Both are talented enough to push current starters and could find themselves as first-year starters at some point in the 2014 season. The Irish coaching staff are excited to welcome both players onto the football team.

Notre Dame Season Update 2013 (Season 1)

                Mid-Season Report for Notre Dame:

Under new Head Coach John Bax, the Irish are off to a 2-4 start. It has been an uphill battle with a weakened roster and very difficult schedule. The back-end of the schedule has three difficult games against USC, LSU, and Stanford, but also contains three games against Navy, Minnesota, and Pitt where the Irish may be able to pick up a few more wins.

Recruiting has heated up with the Irish picking up two verbal commits over the bye week and looking to gain more commits each week as the season winds down and focus shifts to next year. National recruiting experts are claiming that many of the possible Irish commits could find playing time as early as next season and that may help them land a solid class this year.

                    Week 8 2013 (Season 1) ND Recap

                    Trojans Win Big

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - #11 USC came to South Bend with one goal in mind, Beat the Irish. The accomplished that goal Saturday. The Trojans were clearly the better team jumping out to an impressive 21-0 mid-way through the second quarter. Notre Dame didn't have any success running the ball and dictating the pace of play. Instead they found themseleves down early and having to pass. Notre Dame's Junior QB Calvin Lewis tried his best to keep the Irish in it with his arm, but the Trojan defense was too strong.

This lose moves Notre Dame to just 2-5 on the year, not the first year Head Coach John Bax was hoping for. "We were just out-played and out-coached", said Bax. "We didn't have the strength to matchup with them at the line of scrimmage and didn't have the speed to match them on the outside either."

The Irish will travel to Baton Rouge, La. to take on a struggling LSU team that also sits at 2-5. The Tigers have a good team on paper, but haven't been able to produce on the field this year. One of the two programs will leave with a much needed win, but LSU may be in greater need of the W as their head coach Les Miles is seeing his job security fade with each loss this year.

Tough loss, it's been a tough schedule for the Irish. Hopefully you can grab some running backs on the recruiting trail that will help even out the offensive output.

Notre Dame received two more verbal commitments after week 8.

                          Scouting Report
Jerrell is a good pickup for the Irish recruiting class. He has good speed for a safety and that alone could get him playing time next season as the current Irish secondary has struggled to prevent the big play. Davis also excels on the baseball diamond for the Blue Devils, playing centerfield for the varsity team all four years. He is also a good student and wants to major in finance.

The Notre Dame coaching staff are really high on this kid and hope that he is able to develop into a real leader for this team going forward.

                          Scouting Report
Joe Fitzpatrick has the perfect size for an offensive lineman, tall and over 300 lbs. Where he has to improve is on his technique. He is a good run blocker as he can use his sheer size to create a hole, but pass blocking and picking up complex blitzes are where he will need coaching.

He will most likely red-shirt his freshman year to learn and develop more as a blocker, but the Notre Dame coaching staff think that he has a very high ceiling. If they can improve his technique to match his size, the Irish may have a real gem on the line for a few years.

                            Tigers Take Down Irish

BATON ROUGE, La. - In the match-up of two 2-5 storied programs, LSU was able to get the W and hopefully salvage a disappointing season by becoming bowl-eligible. For the losers Saturday, the Irish, this drops them to 2-6 and will need to win-out if they hope to go bowling.

Another tough loss for Irish first year Head Coach John Bax who had this to say after the game, "We fought hard, but LSU just wanted it more. I don't understand how a team that is that good is 3-5. They have a great defense that didn't give up a first down until the second quarter. They also had a running back (Jeremy Jefferson) run for 140 and a TD in the first quarter. Congrats to the Tigers and I hope they have a successful rest of their season."

The Irish will get some relief in their schedule as the next three opponents Navy, Pitt, and Minnesota look to winnable games. Hopefully Notre Dame can put together a few wins and end the season on a high note.

Thanks! Yeah, always a tough schedule at Notre Dame haha.

I have one that I am going after, but mostly trying to get stronger in the trenches by recruiting a lot of offensive and defensive linemen.

                              Thanks for posting!
