Dunks in freestyle, has 81 driving dunk tendency but in gauntlet or regular games won't dunk. This makes him pretty useless on offense. Anyone else had this problem with him or any other player? Maybe someone else can try to see if he's bugged.

Sounds like the same problem that gold Elvin Hayes has.
I'd guess that he doesn't have the right dunk packages equipped.Comment

They fixed Elvin Hayes' badges and tendencies but he still finishes every alley oop with a layup. Most of his driving attempts also end in layups, and he doesn't get much lift at all on his super slow driving dunks if you do get lucky and have one trigger.Comment

Hmm could be but he does work fine in freestyle. I've used him a lot before so I put posterizer on him and found out he's broke. Ill have to try Hayes out again, last year McAdoo was similar, great ratings but wouldn't dunk jack.

ROTY and 00 Vince Carter have some similar problems. Both seem to have current Vince's tendencies making them unable to dunk in situations they should and making it impossible to do a standing dunk. Hopefully they can fix that also.Comment

Jim Jackson was known for being a shooter, not a dunker.
He's actually working just like he should be.
Yeah I get a lot of driving layups from ROTY Vince Carter in situations where you'd think he'd be able to dunk the ball.ROTY and 00 Vince Carter have some similar problems. Both seem to have current Vince's tendencies making them unable to dunk in situations they should and making it impossible to do a standing dunk. Hopefully they can fix that also.

Tried Jalen Rose in Gauntlet and he has the same problem but I experimented and waited until really close to the basket and he finally dunked it but no normal driving dunks. This will make a lot of players unplayable for me unless they fix it.
Edit: see Jalen has a 2 driving dunk tendency smh... Still doesn't explain Moncrief or why some of these guys won't dunk with a clear path to the basket like they do in freestyle mode.Last edited by knick9; 11-07-2015, 07:10 PM.Comment

Some players like Larry Johnson will try to dunk everything even though they don't have spectacular dunk ratings. Fat Lever has low dunk ratings but I'm always dunking with him, must be something with the animations in gameplay like jyoung said.Comment

thats inaccurate and it doesnt make sense....the guy had so many dunks as a high schooler and plenty in college and the league. and it doesnt jive with his stats. he is 6'6" with 87 athleticism and 75 vertical. he is not supposed to be laying the ball up on every wide open fast break. his driving dunk is 45, but lots of players have this same rating and dunk crazy.
think about this....why would he layup every fast break when wide open but be able to catch mad lobs? lol. every player that can catch an oop on a regular basis is gonna throw down at least a basic wide open driving dunk, but not vise-versa. see what I mean?
check out this video and tell me 2k didnt get it wrong...

Van Exel has it the other way around, has only 25 Driving Dunk but he always dunks. I think he has no Layup animation.Comment
