How do you guys play your MyGM?

Seems with me, no matter what team I start off with, I"m always looking to put together the best team. Then within 5-6 years I have amassed an OP team, then that gets boring as well.

How do you guys keep it realistic??

In sports video games you almost have to talk yourself out of what the Cpu will give to avoid amassing a super team.

I'm still waiting on year to year saves so I don't have to rush games

I actually haven't played My GM since it was implemented in the game, because of not being able to control what the CPU teams do since trades and FA signings along with lineups/rotations are done so poorly in NBA2k, and for that matter really in any sports game its that way.

What I have always done in Association mode for my team is just keep it realistic and not sign players that they wouldn't IRL. Im always the Pacers, so I know Im not going to sign some superstar FA and I need to build thru the draft. Typically big time players or I guess the better way of putting it is All Star caliber players over the years have typically came to the Pacers later on in their career, like Ricky Pierce, Byron Scott, too name a couple, and it was toward the end of their career's.

That's basically how I have always done it, all while controlling all teams to keep them from making stupid moves. Actually the 1st season of my Franchise, I keep it all realistic with moves that happen IRL because I don't ever finish a season before the end of the real season.

What was nice on the old console NBA2k was you could set the CPU in all team control to do as much or as little as you wanted them, so they would trade on their own if you so choose. I hate how it is now where controlling all 30 teams means basically you have to do everything for them an wish it would go back to how it use to be.

I am considering doing a My GM this year along with a My league, as I like the idea of being the GM just don't care for unrealistic moves the CPU makes, hopefully its better this year but doubt it. I will however run My Gm just as I would with my team in a My League, by keeping all moves realistic to what I believe the Pacers would do IRL. That way my team will never be so overpowered that I lose total interest in playing that mode.
