          Chapter 1 - The introduction

          10.57 AM.

I never was a person, who wanted to run late, I always wanted to be everywhere on time. Pops always said "Don't be late, but don't be too early." It is a motto I wanted to stick by.

But today, it wasn't going my way. Car wouldn't start up, and the traffic as always is terrible. Taking a right on M Street and it is just crowded. Just another Monday. But it wasn't though, I kept telling myself that it was, but in reality, it was everything else but normal.

Divac called me a week ago with a story like none other. He wanted to meet up with me. I thought he was a busy bee, with all the stuff the team has been upto lately. I was happy to hear from him, but it just felt weird. Why was I getting the call randomly? It has been years since we balled together, and to be fair, we almost made it aswell. Ah, "The Greatest Show on Court", I can remember it as it was yesterday. He told me to come by today, as he wanted to "catch up". Really? A Serbian guy wanting to catch up? He must be playing.

So here I was, running late to the Arena, and big Divac waiting for me. Not a perfect place to be in. When I finally made it, I parked the car up, walked in, and saw him smiling and waving at me, with the biggest grin on his face.

"I thought you would never make it?"

"The traffic in this city man, you know how it is."

"Of course my friend, please, lets go."

We went on and casually strolled around the Arena. I got to see the boys practise, see some of the new guys doing their thing, and see all of this glory yet again. We never got what we wanted, but seeing my shirt up in the rafters, along with the division title ones, made me feel both regret and pleasure.

After the huge tour, we head to an office, and in there were both Ranadive, the owner and Carter, the assistant coach.

"Take a seat, please, we have a word with you," said Ranadive. He looked a bit edgy, whereas Carter didn't want to even look at me.

"Look, I don't want to, how you say, spin around the elephant? Divac said you could be the man to coach this team. Karl isn't up to the task, and we need a man, who is a leader. Who knows about winning. The fans love you, everybody in the city of Sacramento love you, all we need is your yes, and you getting started instantly."

"I dunno man, it is a tough task." I mean, I love basketball, I honestly do, ever since my knee blew out on me, I feel like I left something done for this team. We had it, I mean, I feel like it got stolen aswell, but it really is sad.

But this team is a ****storm, don't get me wrong, I love it to bits, but it really is bad. Karl is struggling here, the players aren't happy, and the talks about Cousins leaving is just horrible. But this could be my dream. I could do this, yet it could fire back aswell. I dunno man.

"Look," said Divac. "If I did not think that you could do this, then I would have not contacted you."

"Oh, so that the real reason you wanted to "catch up"? I mean, I don't mind it but atleast don't lie to me, man. You know how I am man, respect and loyalty first.

"Yeah, Divac gets it, Carter gets it, I do aswell. But you have to understand, this is a critical time for this franchise. I want you here, so do the coaches, right Carter?"

"I guess, yeah." Carter did not seem happy, hell, even pissed off.

"What do you say, are you with us?"

I mean, uhh. What can I say, I love this team, to death, I want it to do well, but this is going to be one hell of a season.

"Alright, I'll do it. When do we start?"

Divac smiled and shouted: "Ah, we shall announce it tomorrow and you can start training next week!"

Sigh, I might be too deep in this.

            Karl fired, Webber takes over

In a stunning turn of events, the Sacramento Kings have taken another huge step, after all the drama with George Karl.

With a few new players joining the team for preseason, there will also be a new coach, since George Karl has been released from his coaching position.

George Karl had already trouble in the start of the season, with problems with the team leader, Demarcus Cousins, and the staff aswell. So, manager Vlade Divac has made a decision to fire him and getting a new coach.

And who is the new coach? Well, if you are a Sacramento fan, you will be happy.

Chris Webber, the power forward, 5 time All-Star and a man, whose number has been retired in Sacramento, is going to take over starting this week. While there are a lot of questions on what Webber can and can't do, the talented big man can hopefully show Cousins new tips and bring the team together to play exciting basketball.

Webber himself said that he is stoked to take this challenge, but knows how big of a challenge it is. "I was part of the greatest show in basketball to watch, and I want it to return to this city. It will take time, that is for sure. But I am ready, and hopefully so are the fans."

Ranadive was also excited. "I want this team to take a new direction and with Chris, I believe we can do that."

The Sacramento Kings will be playing the Dallas Mavericks in their first game of the season, and the first test for C-Webb.

              Cruzerr Talks

Part 1 - The introduction and how we start

I forgot to make a banner for this, but I should work on it later.

So, this whole franchise is a storyline about Chris Webber and making Sacramento Kings a whole new team. I think this idea will work and I am motivated to make it work.

I got inspired by Trek and really want this to be interesting to follow. I know that both Thunder and Trail Blazers didn't work out, so I guess trying a team with a different letter will go better, hah? No? Oh well.

I am not sure how this will go and how this goes on, but I figured that I have to be motivated and actually enjoy the project so it goes well. I can't really go into detail with this "talk" since there isn't much to add currently, I have ideas that I can't actually share with you.

I hope you will like it, that is about it! :P

Webber starts with a win as Kings go past Mavericks

Both the Kings and Webber can happy with the start of the new season, whereas Dallas needs to think things over.

A third quarter push by the Kings got them to a compfortable spot to finish the game with ease. Dallas looked tired in the second half and not ready for the fight Sacramento was giving them. Kings were the tougher team on the boards and fought more, leading to a great advantage in both blocks and steals.

Cousins was the team leader with 22 points, followed by Gay (20), Collison (13), Cauley-Stein (12) and McLemore (12). The Kings did face some troubles, as they were turning the ball over in a higher rate and at times giving Mavericks easy buckets.

Dallas was lead by Deron Williams, who finished the game with 19 points and 10 assists. Dirk was behind him with 14 and both Parsons and Matthews finished with 13. There was a clear difference between the two teams, which surprised most people, giving the amount of time Webber has been with the team.

                GOOD WAY TO START

Chris Webber did feel proud about his team, yet knows there were still a few things needing to be changed on the court. "We turned the ball over too much. Rondo was leading the offense well and providing the boys with the open shots, yet we can't take that for granted and get sloppy with our play. If we keep this fight up and limit our turnovers, we will have a better chance against other teams."

                INJURIES EARLY ON

Kings small forward, Rudy Gay, who did have a good game, suffered an injury late in the forth quarter. Assistant coach Carter said that Gay suffered a back injury, yet it shouldn't be too serious. "We don't know everything yet. He said that his back hurts and he is going to take pictures at this moment as we speak. I can't tell you anything for certain but it didn't look too serious. Hopefully he can play in the next games and not miss many."

                EMPTY HOUSE

While the Mavericks were getting beaten, the arena was getting emptier by each minute. The fans were not happy with the play, while coach Carlisle was not happy with the play nor with the fans. When we asked him about the fact that they finished the game with a empty house, he said: "No comment."

Big Hire in Webber, you going to try and mould Cousins into a Webber type at PF?

I guess they have some similarities but the main idea is to just see how Cousins will grow under Webber. Both have incredible hands as players, the way they both grabbed rebounds or passed it from the post, so they are similar. I guess the main difference would be the fact what one has accomplished and the other hasn't.

Yeah, somehow, the defensive side of our play is really good.

Kings come back late but fall in double-OT

Some times you just love NBA basketball.

In a thrilling double over-time game, it was Trevor Ariza and James Harden hitting the clutch shots in the end to finish the game. But the two shots in the end were not the thrilling part of the game.

The third quarter ended 68-80, with the home team having a quite compfortable advantage. Kings were sloppy with the ball and not quick enough in defense to stop the Rockets shooters. Yet in the forth, both McLemore and Cousins stepped their games up and caught the lead back. Sacramento played amazing ball and went on a 14-6 run to catch up. The game was tight until the very end, when Harden stepped up and hit an amazing two to give them the lead. The shot was just across the line fade-away right into McLemores' face.

With only 0.4 seconds on the clock, the Kings ran a play, where the ball ended up in Collisons' hand, who then hit it quickly. It looked like it was all over, but after the review, the officials called it a basket and the game went to overtime.

There, the Kings took an early lead, yet Houston had no problem taking shots and instantly getting it back. Cauley-Stein got an easy dunk to take the lead, yet it was Harden yet again who closed it out and sent the game to the second overtime.

In there, Houston took a six point lead, which was ultimately the biggest in OT. Kings did hit their shots well and Cousins was playing amazingly, but it was just not enough for them to claw it back.

                              FIRE INSIDE

Coach Webber was very happy with the play the team showed in the forth, yet insists that this shouldn't have happened. "Look, I love these guys and their fire in the end. They showed me that they really wanted to win it. Losing it in double overtime is never easy, but clawing a 12-point game back and sending it there speaks volumes. Still, we got to take care of the ball better.

                              INJURY PROBLEMS EARLY

With Rudy Gay missing last few games and possibly more, Willie Cauley-Stein also picked up an injury during the game. "Willie strained his ankle, but some ice on it and rest should get him back next game, he did play till the end. Rudy is out with his lower back problems for a bit, but hopefully won't miss more than 2 games.

                              BIG LEADERS

The two teams were led by Cousins and Harden, who both had terrific nights. Harden scored 30 points, along with 12 assists and 8 rebounds. Cousins on the other end had 45 points with 9 rebounds and 3 blocks. The only man with more blocks was Cauley-Stein with 6 of them. Cousins said that he was happy with his performance, yet would take the win instead of the big game. "I want to go out every night and win. I will do my best because of it, but I will be honest, I would rather win than have these nights. Still, if I got to ball, I will."
