Indiana Pacers - Play Now Mode
Can someone help me understand how the Indiana Pacers have the 5th best record in the league, but ranked 18th and is still a tier 2 team online?Tags: None -

Re: Indiana Pacers - Play Now Mode
The same reason I was able to buy front row balcony first round playoff tickets to the Hawks for $5 per while parking cost me $12 a few years ago.
You and I are the only two who care my friend.
Considering they are breaking 120 pts on occasion now, I'd like to see the 2K Pacers get that magic 2K juice that the Lakers and Knicks get that allows them to run in transition like the old Showtime Lakers get every year regardless of what their record is.
Don't get me started on shot releases either!

Re: Indiana Pacers - Play Now Mode
The reason why the Pacers aren't rated high is because nobody on that team is overperforming the ratings besides Paul George.
All that 2K does is boost the ratings of a couple players.
On the Suns, Bledsoe and Knight got boosted...
On the Pacers, there's nobody to boost but PG13, which has happened.Comment

At least we're not essentially capped at shooting 40% with the Pacers like 2k15 lol.The same reason I was able to buy front row balcony first round playoff tickets to the Hawks for $5 per while parking cost me $12 a few years ago.

Re: Indiana Pacers - Play Now Mode
Good Lord! I had stopped playing after Patch 4. They fixed the releases which was main problem with that particular team, but the shooting went through the roof. I'm trying to avoid not complaining so much, but I really don't like the fact that they're closer to being a Tier 3 team than a Tier 1 team.Comment

I think CJ Miles got a boost too but who else deserves a boost? Idk how their bigs are playingThe reason why the Pacers aren't rated high is because nobody on that team is overperforming the ratings besides Paul George.

Re: Indiana Pacers - Play Now Mode
Here's a example of bad ratings. He dropped rebounding ratings for Lavoy Allen and Ian Mahinmi, but leaves Jordan Hill's the same who's currently tied for 4th best offensive rebounder with DeAnde Jordan. Yet, he still has a 69 rating. As a result, I have no capable offensive rebounders when I should have one. I recognize the team as a whole is not great, but they should have the one person who is.
Indiana leads the league in steals per game, and is top 5 defensive team. The ratings and tendencies should reflect that. Right now, it seems like he's focusing on Paul George while slowly decreasing the other players.
Monta Ellis hasn't been that great at shooting, but he's doing a great job at playmaking and getting to the rim (eye test, I haven't looked up stats yet). George Hill has been steady as a playmaker, and a consistent 3PT threat.
CJ Miles got his increase, but it was kinda hard to overlook him. Glenn Robinson was the same way. After that, it's whatever. I know Stuckey needs to take a hit on his 3PT shooting, so I'm surprised he missed that.
Indiana historically has been a tough team to rate, because they play as a team. Hence, one individual, minus Paul George, rarely stands out more than the others. It makes it even harder when it comes to assigning badges. Indiana is a team that's better suited via changes in the tendencies. I want to say that the Memphis Grizzlies have the same problem.
And for goodness sake...can Solomon Hill's dunk rating be changed to something higher than 39????Comment

Re: Indiana Pacers - Play Now Mode
And why do the Pacers have some the lowest HSTL ratings in the game? The highest player on the team is Ian Mahinmi at 82 then Paul George at 81. The next starter is Monta Ellis at 75. Most of the other teams have a few in the 90's, most in the 80's, then the rest are non-impact players.
Also, why do the Pacers have some of lowest ratings in OBDIQ, PNRO, and PSPER? Although the Pacers play for a coach who specializes in defense and had a Top 3 defensive team for most of his tenure, the players' ratings are not indicative of that.
There needs to be a global adjustment of these ratings.Comment

Re: Indiana Pacers - Play Now Mode
Yeah but that's when they also had Hibbert and David West. You cant give this curent team credit for that. This current Pacers team hasn't really proved anything to be honest. And why do the Pacers have some the lowest HSTL ratings in the game?
